Hello All, Just got back home from the GPAA Gold Show in Mesa. I must say it's a ton of work to set up then rush back and forth daily to Mesa. That being said, met some great people today. Sure are a lot of people interested in metal detecting, not just for nuggets. The X-Terra 705 was probably the most talked about detector today. Great detector for $729.00 and for what you can do with it. Only seen one GPX 5000 walk out the door, not sure who sold it ..... Ok, you're truly did. They mentioned in the range of 1400 - 1500 people through the door today. Not the great attendance, but far from the worst. Hope to see you tomorrow if you didn't make it down today.

Hello All, Just a quick reminder that the GPAA Gold and Treasure Expo will be at the Mesa Convention Center, Mesa Arizona this weekend. We will have 6 booths set up and will have a good display of metal detectors, coils and accessories. Come over and check us out if you're at the show. We already have a handful of customers requesting us to bring and hold items for them. If there is something you are looking for, contact us before hand if you can. There are some items (specialty stuff and smaller misc items) that we will not have at the show, but do have available online or by special request. I believe the doors open both days at 10am. Hope to see you there! Rob Allison

Hey Doc, Man I look fat in that picture .... LOL What is the program for doing that? Seems pretty neat. Might be interesting to do a old mining picture with that type of drawing. -
Hey Guys, Not sure who might be there as a so-called celeb, but I know there are a few local nuggetshooters that could be doing talks throughout the day. It's worth a trip over for $5 to see all the vendors, listen to the talks and see if there is anything new. We are welcoming anyone over to the booth to take a look at what we have to offer. We are always willing to help get the newbie to pro outfitted with any metal detecting need. Looking forward to see you all. Rob Allison

Hey Guys, I made sure Minelab is able to fill that first order of 1000 units Nevada Chris. Just so you know, I will have to charge you a 15% restocking fee if you back out of the deal ..... LOL Figure around $525,000 is just a few of your nuggets you have collected over the years. Ok, in all seriousness, the price range of $3200 - $3800 is what I'm guessing, but I could be way off base on this one. Take care,

Good start to the New Year!

Hey DiggerBob, Great to see you're back in the goldfields swinging. Congrats on the new additions to you and your partners collection. Wishing you continued success out there. Hope to see more great finds of yours in the near future. Rob Allison -
Hey Chris, The Garrett seems to be the most popular right now. I sell the DetectorPro Pistol Probe (which I used the most), Minelab Pro-Find 25, Garrett Pinpointer and the Coiltek 1-inch Probes that work on the Minelab detectors. They all work well, the first three are hand-held probes, the Coiltek ones has to be plugged into your detector. I think the Coiltek ones gets the most depth, as you're using your Pulse Induction metal detector and a true 1-inch coil, but not as easy to use as a hand-held one that can packed a bit easier. I have all of them if you're in the market. Talk with you later,

Hello Guys, If all goes well, we plan on setting up about 6 tables worth of product. The last few years I done the show, I took everything including the Kitchen Sink .... LOL This year I will probably pack a bit lighter, making it easier for set up and break down. We would love to see you all stop over at the booth and chat with us. We will have a good display of items, mainly metal detectors, coils and accessories related to detecting for gold, coins or relics. I might have a few used Minelab's available for a great price, but not sure how long they will stick around at the show. Hope to see you all there. Rob Allison

Hey Guys, Kyle - The pricing is not officially out as of yet. There are rumors on the price, but once the unit is released to the public we can place a MAP (minimum advertising price) on the detector. So for now, if anyone has questions on the metal detector, you're welcome to contact me by phone, email or here on the forum. Hope this helps, Rob Allison

Hello All, Rumors are the Minelab SDC 2300 could be released to the public soon. Going to be interesting to play around with this unit and see what features it will have over the Garrett ATX. The Minelab SDC 2300 will be a waterproof Pulse Induction metal detector, able to fold down to like 16 inches and have the well known Minelab technology behind it. Minelab has always proven to have the upper edge with metal detecting technology, so hopefully this unit will have a few surprises behind it. If anyone has any questions about the metal detector, please feel free to call or email us anytime - rob@robsdetectors.com You can also see the unit at our online store - http://www.robsdetectors.com/minelab-sdc-2300 Fingers crossed for another great Minelab unit!

Hello All, Just curious if anyone local is going to attend the upcoming GPAA Gold and Treasure Expo at the Mesa Convention Center Jan. 18th and 19th? I heard the GPAA has done a lot of marketing on this years shows and with the show in Jan. they expect higher numbers through the doors. Anyone else heard anything about this years shows and what to expect? I know last year wasn't that great for numbers, meaning lower sales for the vendors. Talk with you later, Rob Allison

Hello All, Saturday I got up early and decided to take the quad on a long journey out West. Spent majority of the day running up and down the roads and trails looking for anything that might catch my attention. A few prospects and mines here and there, but nothing really stood out and said "Right Here!" I decided to hit a few spots here and there and ended up finding three small nuggets throughout the course of the day. The biggest one was 1.6 Dwt's. The smallest is about a grain in size (won't even weight in Grams) and the middle piece was 0.4 Grams. No bonanza, but had fun searching and finding a few bits in a new spot. I was using the Minelab GPX 5000 and 14x9 Coiltek Blitz Mono Searchcoil. Take care, Rob Allison

Advice wanted
nuggethunting replied to Imaudigger's topic in All About Minelab Metal Detectors Forum
Hello Imaudigger, The GP Extreme is a great metal detector. The stock black coil is actually a DD, but an be placed in the mono mode and you will use only the left side. This coil is a Pseudo Mono, like the stock 11-inch that came with it. The GP Extreme came with both the stock 11-inch and 18-inch Round coils, both Pseudo Mono coils (DD and Half Mono's). The unit also came with a hard carry case, but most kept them when they units were resold. No videos from Minelab on the GP Extreme. JP has a video on the Extreme and GP3000, which is highly recommended. We carry the video and it might help you out at some point. I recommend digging everything if you can. It's hard to do this in very trashy areas, so using discrimination is an option. Spare parts are recommended like others have stated. Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison -
Eureka Gold bad coil???
nuggethunting replied to cp90macs's topic in All About Minelab Metal Detectors Forum
Hello Cp90, Sounds like you could have a bad coil. The coil should be under warranty still, so you can send it in to Minelab Americas. If not, they can still fix it for a minimal fee. The Coiltek 6-inch Round is a hot coil for the Eureka. We always have them in stock and they are waterproof also. You can visit the online store and see them there at - www.robsdetectors.com Give me a call if you need any help or advice on the Eureka coil that could be bad. Rob Allison
