  5. Hey Tom & Tom Sr., Right on!! Great pieces of gold you scored there.
  6. Hey Relichunter2, Congrats on the find with the new coil. I think I might have asked in a prior post, which I probably never went back and ready your message, but here is my question - Can you give us an idea on the price difference on those coils vs. NF, Coiltek or Minelab? Who is currently selling them? How are they on weight vs other coils of similar configuration (i.e. lightweight, round, elliptical or MONO/DD)? Do they false? Thanks for your answers in advance. Rob Allison
  7. Hello All, Can't say too much, but a good friend and customer of mine recently scored a 7+ quartz/gold specimen with his Minelab GPX 5000 he purchased from us. Huge piece of gold, probably several pounds of gold within the quartz. Congrats!!! It's still out there .... Rob Allison
  8. Hey Guys, Just an update, not many left, so get one quickly if you're interested. My guess is by next weekend they all will be gone for that price.
  9. Hey Frank, No questions it's a great deal. Coiltek is running a bunch of specials right now, 20% off the Goldstalker 18x12 Elliptical Mono and the reduced price on the Round 14 and 16-inch Goldstalker Mono's. Great way to get into a new, high quality searchcoil for your Minelab metal detector at a low cost. Maybe Trev @ Coiltek will jump in here and give us all a better explanation. In the meantime, the supply is limited and time frame is limited on these deals, so don't wait too long or you might miss out.
  10. Hey Way2cool, That is correct, I already have a bunch of calls on them. The 18x12's are on sale for 20% off, but this offer on these coils is way better than 20%.
  11. Hello All, If anyone is interested, Coiltek is running a discontinued special on two searchcoils. You can now get a new Coiltek 14-inch Round or Coiltek 16-inch Round Goldstalker Mono for $175.00 (shipping included). This is a great deal and will only last for a very limited time. Call me ASAP or email if you're interested in one of these new coils. 623.362.1459 rob@robsdetectors.com Thanks! Rob Allison
  12. Hey Frank, I sell a bunch of the Coiltek WOT coils for the X-Terra series. The coil is 100% waterproof and due to the size at 15-inch round, you will get more depth on larger targets and move coverage per swing. The 18.75khz will be more sensitive to small targets over the lower freqs., so this coil is normally the preferred larger coil for nugget shooters. Hope this helps a bit,
  13. Hello All, Ok, Doc sent me a bigger picture which I uploaded in the main post by Doc.
  14. Hey Roo, Great to see we have similar type deposits of these "Black Nuggets." Yours looks just like mine!
  15. Hey Doc, I have added the picture, but it's small. Can you send the full sized picture and I will attach. You might need to clear some of your attachments out to add new pictures. You're only allowed so much space so members don't spam the forums with huge pictures. Is the tape available now for sale?
  16. Hey Relichunter, Great to hear that it worked great. I heard of them, but don't know anyone here that is using one, at least yet. Most of the larger Coiltek and NF coils are all Mono's. Minelab is the only one still making a 15x12 DD and 18-inch Round DD in the Commander series. However, they are extremely heavy to swing without the use of a bungee or bungee type system. Looks like it might be a lighter DD. How is pricing vs other manufactures on the market today?
  17. Hey Guys, I just wanted to clarify these are not "gold in ironstone" specimens, these are solid gold nuggets coated in Manganese oxide. There is also a bacteria that is creating this coating I believe that is actually alive. I can't say too much more right now as the pieces are being researched. The bacteria only grown and thrives in non-light bearing areas that are damp.
  18. Hey Rattlesnake Jim, Thanks for adding that info. Great to hear Peter can repair them if someone would purchase it. I know some of the mods can really increase performance on the SD's, seen them in person, but never had one done myself.
  19. Research on Black Gold Nuggets Hello All, I might have posted some of these Black Gold Nuggets in the past. These are non-typical gold nuggets, coated with a manganese oxide type coating and combination with rare bacteria growing on them. Will be interesting to find out more at some point about them, but all the years I have hunted for gold, never found Black Gold Nuggets beyond the stories about them. When you're out there detecting, make sure you examine your finds good enough to make sure you're not tossing out Black Gold Nuggets! Happy Hunting, Rob Allison
  20. Hey Bill, Great to hear Minelab found out the coil was bad. I personally don't know anyone beyond Minelab that might repair it, but I doubt they would waste the time. If the coil was under warranty they would trash it and send you another new one. I'm sure there are some electronic guru's on here that might be able to repair or fix it. Thanks Rabbit for the comments.
  21. Hey Idaho Al, A $1000 for an original SD2000 might be steep now. The SD2000 was a great PI detector back in the day, found many pounds of gold with mine. That being said, there are far better choices in my opinion that would allow you to have a warranty and much newer technology. Don't get me wrong, the SD2000 is nice, but better if the price was around $500-$800. Keep in mind, you can't repair them, so if something goes wrong, for the most part it will become a "coat rack!"
  22. Hey Chuck, That is correct, this ATX has sold. Thanks for all the people that view it. I knew at that price it wouldn't last long.
  23. Hey Bill, I don't know anyone that checks them or repairs them beyond the Minelab Repair Center in Chicago. If you have someone around you that has used the Minelab's before, they might be able to ID a bad coil or at least allow you to swap with their coil and see if it acts the same as yours.
  24. Hey Border Boy, Great to hear you're back out in the hills. Some great finds you scored there. Hope you get more soon!
  25. Here are the pictures for this unit - I have listed it on Ebay also today.
