  1. Hey Mike, Watch this short video clip to get a better idea of both systems and even the amplified external speaker available. Clip Link to watch short video clip below - Take care, Rob Allison
  2. Hello Jerry, Please keep us updated on how Gary is doing. He will be in our prayers. Rob Allison
  3. Hello All, This morning when Leaverite and arrived at our hunting location, we done some testing with the various battery systems on the new Minelab GPX-4500. Just to give you some information, the stock GPX-4500 li-ion battery has a built-in signal enhancer, unlike the GPX-4000 battery that looks identical. I tested both the stock GPX-4000 li-ion and the GPX-4000 Pocket Rocket System and they both performed the same. Both of these units were able to hear the same nuggets at different depths, but lacked a bit of audio over the stock GPX-4500 battery. I'm much more confident now that the Coiltek Pocket Rocket Li-Ion System and stock GPX-4000 battery will work well, you just don't get the boosted audio. Also, they all heard the same nuggets at depth, but the GPX-4500 just gave you a better audio response. I believe if you added an external signal enhancer such as the new GoldScreamer or Detacc you would be right back into the audio level the GPX-4500 stock battery gives. Shame on Minelab to not have any stock GPX-4500 batteries available yet. I'm leaving for Alaska (Moore Creek) next week. Just an update, Rob Allison
  4. Hello All, Today Leaverite and I took out a GPX customer for his second field instructions. Yep, the first field instructions didn't go as well since his GPX menu screen wouldn't display anything. He drove the new unit all the way to Las Vegas to get it repaired and returned to Arizona. We hunted for about 5 hours and called it quits. Dennis ended up finding a small gold nugget and I found one about a Dwt in size. You can view the two short video clips below to see the depth the nugget was found at. Leaverite and I were both using the GPX-4500's and new Coiltek Goldstalker Mono Searchcoils. Take care, Rob Allison
  5. Hello Guys, I made up a short video on both the Detacc, GoldScreamer and External Speaker System. This should give you a better idea on what they all look like and how to attach them to your Minelab metal detector. Click Link below for short Video Clip - Rob Allison
  6. Hello Uncle Ron, Congrats on your new finds. I just knew there had to be more in the general area. As you can see, prospecting for new locations can really pay off. Many like to continue to pound old patches, but doing this don't allow you to find the biggies like you have. Hope the area is extensive and you're just getting into a great patch. P.S. What is the forum telling you when you try to post pictures? Are you sure the pictures aren't too big? Wishing you the best, Rob Allison
  7. Hello All, After filling all my backorders I have a couple Minelab GPX-4500's available if anyone is still searching. Sorry I didn't have any in stock about two weeks ago. I had to turn down a good amount of customers that were avidly searching for them. I was lucky enough to have another backorder coming, so I will have another batch coming again within a week. Call to order your today. I have one of the best packages you will find! Take care, Rob Allison
  8. Hello All, This afternoon I received a PM about a post over on Nuggetshooter's forum. I guess one of the members is giving out hunting locations, which is great if the areas are open to prospect. However, after reading this PM, the member requested I let everyone know before heading to those spots that some are claims and other spots are Private Property (OFF LIMITS). I personally know nothing about the area up there, just passing on information requested. I would suggest you research the spots before taking a long drive out there. For some of the locals it might be just a quick hop, skip & jump, but for others it might be a long haul to find out you can't hunt there. Just passing the info on as requested by a local hunter of the area. Take care, Rob Allison
  9. Hello Guys, I think all the picks being made out there are good, just a matter of personal preference when it comes to choosing one. My favorite overall pick was the 20.5-inch Walco W3. However, Walco had a fallen out and I think they fell off the Earth (not certain). Although, that is a different story .... Super Mangets are a must in my opinion. They really speed up the target recovery time by grabbing all the iron rubbish such as nails, wire, can fragments, horse shoes, boot tacks and other metallic garbage. Less time digging and pinpointing means possibly more time searching and digging good targets such as gold nuggets! However, I don't see any real purpose to have more than one, maybe two magnets at the most in my opinion. Too many magnets means more cleaning and more potential to stick onto something like your vehicle (i've done it!). Also, the magnet holder rings can be a bitch to clean out once they attract a bunch of black sands and small bits of metal. Some really like the magnet rings so the super magnet(s) don't move around. I've never personally liked them. Just my thoughts, Rob Allison
  10. Hello Bryan, Great to see you here posting. As for coils, you have one problem, they are all NF coils (just kidding). LOL My suggestion would be to bring one decent sized Mono and DD. I know the GPX-4000 due to its sensitive will find faint, deep Basalts at Moore Creek with a Mono coil. To elliminate finding these occasional Basalts, you might consider a DD or DD Pro for better immunity to mineralization. The tailing piles and ground are pretty mild mineralization, but there are some hotrocks (mostly volcanics). I'm still uncertain about the Li-Ion batteries. That would suck if you can only take (2) li-ions. That means you would have to leave your camcorder, digital camera and other items that require a li-ion battery behind. You will need at least two batteries for your detector, if not more just in case one didn't charge. Someone mentioned the TSA site talks about li-ion batteries, but I have yet to really sit down and read it. Anyone know the short version of this li-ion deal on planes? Wishing you the best of luck at Moore Creek! Rob Allison
  11. Hello All, The minor forum issues should be resolved and fixed now. Give them a whirl, such as the "view new posts" or "view new topics" under a members username. There were some corrupt FTP files. Working on some other minor issues that I found on my end. Please let me know if you find anything else out. Rob Allison
  12. Hello 5150, Seems like since Walco took a big dump, many have copied their design (which I doubt was patented). The Apex picks look very strong and durable. However, I don't think it's neccessary to have all those magnet holders. I think one good strong super magnet is way more than enough in my opinion. Wishing Apex the best of luck in the pick market. Thanks for sharing the info and site with us. Rob Allison
  13. Hey Gus, Congrats on your recent Rye Patch finds. It's been many years since I've been back up there. I've always had some luck up there, but nothing of real size. That Chevron nugget is awesome! Without a doubt it should bring 2-3 times the spot value. Thanks for sharing, Rob Allison
  14. Hello Kid Saxon, Congrats on the new gold/quartz specimens. Those are some real beauties. Looks like you're digging down the dump or tailing pile. Hope you find many more. Thanks for sharing your story and finds with us. Rob Allison
  15. Hello Way2Cool, Ya, you have a point, my website is really outdated. However, it will start to slow down soon and Dawn and I already have plans to rebuilt the entire website with new articles, gold finds, new customers & all the products I sell. There are a lot of products and accessories that are not listed, so in the meantime please call or email if you're curious about something. Also, if I don't have something in stock (normally I stock everything), Doc is good enough to drop ship stuff when customers need something right away. However, I don't like to bank on drop shipping and find it only fair to stock all accessories that I sell. Take care, Rob Allison
  16. Hey 2dach, Great to hear you made it to Minelab. Did you get in touch with Dick Shultz? Did you get the GPX repaired? Bigger nugget .... Tell us the story and size! Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  17. Hello Guys, I know there are some bugs with this new version from what I read. This might be one of the bugs. However, in the meantime, just read the forum, don't click on "view new posts!" Hopefully I can get it resolved. Rob Allison

  24. Hello Steve, Thanks for the update. Also, keep an eye out for a US Priority Flat Mail envelope from me. It will have both of our (Dennis and I) papers that you requested. If you would, reserve one of those picks for me if you would. I'm not going to pack a pick this year and considering leaving the .44mag at home also. I might take you up on the Bear Spray. P.S. Glenn mentioned the temps were already in the 60's. Sounds like it will be warm and buggy! See you soon, Rob Allison
  25. Hello Lon, Well hunting three days and not finding anything is not really bad, it just means you know now where not to hunt. It's all a process of ellimination, check here, check there ..... I seen Travis found a few on the hill. I picked up 10 nuggets in the last couple of trips, but nothing of any size. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
