  1. Hello George, Wishing you a speedy recovery. You will be in our prayers. Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  2. Hello Zippoz, First, thanks for the business! Secondly, with all the help given, I really can only add a few things from my experience. The SD2100 is still one of the most popular metal detectors due to the manual balance. Not only can you manually balance this metal detector, but you can seperate the channels (Channel 1 or 2). In extremely mineralized ground conditions the Channel 1 can really knock most, if not all the ground noise out. You might loose a bit of sensitivity to small gold nuggets, but can still find the nice ones at depth. This is one major reason the SD is very popular. Also, there are so many things you can do to the SD2100. To increase performance I would recommend in the future a Monoloop Searchcoil and possibly the Coiltek Pocket Rocket Li-Ion System to increase operating voltage from 6v to 7.3v's. Wishing you the best out there with your SD. Keep us all updated if you would. Rob Allison
  3. Hello Uncle Ron, Sorry I missed your post. Been really busy here the last couple of days. You need to plug your headphones or external speaker that uses a 1/4-inch jack into your battery. The signal enhancer will plug directly into your SD and then you plug the power cord coming from the battery into the signal enhancer. Let me know if you have any problems. Thanks for the business! P.S. Well, how do you like the new signal enhancer? Rob Allison
  4. Hello Doc, Thanks for the update. I was a bit confused on what worked with what best .... New Beige works best on GP3500 and prior, while the orignal Orange DD Pro works best with GPX series, or with other detectors, but just not as good as the new Beige ones. P.S. Customers are asking about the new Goldstalker 24-inch elliptical. I think I'm the last to hear the latests. Hope that is right. Rob Allison
  5. Hello All, Today I took out Diana & Diane. They drove all the way down from Ohio to get their field instructions on their new Minelab GPX. Both were pretty green to gold nugget hunting, but since they had some experience coin hunting with a White's DFX, they both took off quickly nuggetshooting! I took them to a nice patch I found last year where I personally found over 100 nuggets. Most of the nuggets were under a Dwt in this patch, but a few came close to 1/4 ounce. The patch has been worked hard with the GP3500, but hasn't seen much of the GPX-4000 or new GPX-4500. The new Sensitive/Smooth & Enhance settings really made a difference on this Ironstone patch. Diana started out with the GPX and snagged a few small nuggets within a few short hours. Both were very pleased with the results and the field instructions given. Later in day my partner and I decided to give the patch one more shot with the new GPX-4500's. After a few short hours I snagged five gold nuggets using the new Coiltek Goldstalker 14-inch, while my partner snagged 3 gold nuggets with the larger 18.5-inch Goldstalker. I must say, these new Goldstalkers are killing the nuggets! The reports I'm getting from California are amazing. Sure wish I could post some of the pictures, but promised I wouldn't. Thanks for all the business and support Diana & Diane. Here are some pictures from today's field instructions & hunt. Picture 1 is both customers. Picture 2 is their gold they found today. Picture 3 shows the gold nuggets my partner and I found today after field instructions. I found the nuggets on top, partner found the 3 on bottom. Nuggets are still out there to be found. Rob Allison
  6. Hello Kid Saxon, Congrats on those beautiful quartz/gold specimens. Hope you find many more. Thanks for sharing, Rob Allison
  7. Hello Uncle Ron, I received payment. Thank You! The Goldscreamer is night and day over the old Coiltek amps. I rememeber they were pretty crackily (is that a word?), but these enhancers are high quality. I will get it shipped out ASAP. P.S. Let us all know how it works on your SD. Take care, Rob Allison

  10. Hello Doc, Thanks for taking care of Don. He has been a very loyal customer over the years and purchased a GPX and many Coiltek coils. Thanks again, Rob Allison
  11. Hello Grubstake, I'm not sure how to start this, or better yet even end it. Over the years I've read your posts, but unfortunately (for me) only got to meet you in person last year. I knew the minute I met you in person you were "Golden." The times we shared nuggethunting for just a week will be remembered forever. That trip was one of my best I've ever experienced. I really want to get back there and hunt with you again and finally meet Miner Matt. You're a special friend in my book and I know Dennis feels the same. I know you miss driving that 18-wheeler, I can really sense that .... However, your Health is much more important for yourself, family and all of us that enjoy talking with you. As funny as it sounds, I sure miss that Pizza place. Here is a picture I took of you with your new GPX-4000 last year in one of the secret gold patches. Wishing you the best my friend, Rob Allison
  12. Hello Guys, Just wanted to update you all and let you know the Minelab GPX-4500's are now here in the US. Just a matter of time until the dealers get more of them in their hands. I'm not loosing any sleep on the White's PI. I've already talked with White's and Mr. Sierra about it. The unit will fill a great nitch, but not intented to run against the big Minelab's if anyone has those thoughts. Mike C. - Not sure if you purchased the GPX-4000, but if not, you should consider the GPX-4500. Minelab has made some great changes between the two. Take care, Rob Allison
  13. Hello Onion Gold, Congrats on the new finds! Thanks for sharing the pictures and story with us here. Hope to hear about more of your successful stories and see more gold pictures in the near future. Wishing you the best, Rob Allison
  14. Hello DigDeep, Sounds like EM noise like Adam stated. The older SD2100's have the small tune switch which requires a small screwdriver to tune. Minelab finally revised that switch and placed an external 10-turn knob on the SD2100v2's. Tuning the older SD's isn't the easiest, but you might give it a try to stabilize the SD2100 you have. I've noticed sometimes it done miracles, while other times it done nothing to help. Windy conditions can produce more EM noise from static in the air. I've experienced it here in Arizona for the last 15 years with the Minelab PI's. Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  15. Hello Gus, Great looking specimen. Amazing how much gold in some spots the old-timers tossed away. It's pretty hard to check every single rock, but just gives you an idea what they were finding. I'm sure a lot of those high-grade specimens were discarded (or mucked up) when they were blasting into the high-grade going from the non-economic ore and just the opposite, blasting away from the high-grade ore back into the normal run of the mill ore. There was someone that determined what ore got dumped onto the tailings vs. what ore was going to the mill to be crushed. I'm sure that guy had pockets full of rich gold ore! Rob Allison
  16. Hello JP, You would think Minelab would of had enough ready to go before the release date. Heck, maybe they did and just double their normal sales on a new detector. I've been getting calls from all around the Globe wondering when they will arrive in the US. Take care, Rob Allison
  17. Hello Uncle Ron, I firmly believe that nugget had your name on it like you stated. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason, just the fact you found the gold nugget. With all that hard hunting and research you have been doing over there, you deserve to have such a piece like that. Hope you're able to bump into more. Rob Allison
  18. Hello All, I'm sure all dealers are in the same boat, but the GPX-4500's are still on backorder. I recently had to increase my backorder with Minelab due to this major delay of receiving them. Minelab USA, Inc. told me yesterday they have over 60 on backorder and expect that number to hit 100 before they receive them from Australia. For everyone waiting, they still are on backorder. Minelab USA expects them to be shipped very soon from Australia, but that can mean still 2-3 weeks before a dealer will see them. Right now its Australia's gold season, so as fast as Minelab can put them out the Aussie dealers are getting them. Just an update, Rob Allison
  19. Hello Uncle Ron, It might just be one of those lonely nuggets. I've never spent too much time around the Vulture, so my finds are minimal from that area. However, Floyd Allen scored some nice ones over there. I seen one really nice piece that was a bit over an ounce and found on one of the Roadrunner claims many years ago (mid 90's). Hope you and Montana can figure out where the gold is coming from, or better yet, find a new patch. P.S. Still battling this head cold I have. Was going to get out this morning for a few hours. I still might, just thinking where I might go .... Take care, Rob Allison
  20. Hello Lon, Hope you and Travis find some more up there tomorrow. It sounds like the new customer I have to take out is wanting to see the Bradshaw area. Probably wont see you guys tomorrow, but hope one, if not both of you guys score a nugget. Looks like it will be warm tomorrow .... Rob Allison
  21. Hello Tony, I used to just use an old Toothbrush and Liquid Hand Soap to clean gold nuggets. However, many years ago a good friend, John Blennert, showed me a GemOro Ultrasonic cleaner. This unit really makes gold nuggets and specimens beautiful. I seen first hand some of his specimens that he cleaned and just had to get one. I ended up purchasing one with the heater, which really makes the difference. I also purchased some gold and silver cleaning solution called "Magic Green." Not only can you clean gold, but silver and other precious metals. I even cleaned several gold & diamond rings. Here is a link to the one I purchased. It's a bit pricey, but works great. http://www.renterprises.net/catalog/i1.html Take care, Rob Allison
  22. Hello Uncle Ron, Well, I've found some pretty nice one also like that. Just seem to be a small pocket or seam of gold that errodes out. I wouldn't give up on the area, but maybe give it a rest until you can think of another game plan. Sometimes you might overthink an area. About 6-7 months ago Leaverite and I found a nice patch that produced about 2 ounces of chunky gold. The area was pretty small in size, but virgin (never touched by another detector or old-timers). Leaverite found the first nugget that was around 1.5 Dwt's. This nugget was found near an old prospect. As Leaverite hunted the lower area I walked up the hill a bit and hit a nice, solid 8+ Dwter. Not very long after I had another 8+ Dwt, then another 8 Dwt, a 5 Dwt and a few smaller ones. Without a doubt a new patch ..... We came back several times and gridded the area, but that was it. Leaverite did find one 3.5 Dwt in another spot we explored, but another lonely gold nugget. Take care, Rob Allison
  23. Hello Tony, Thanks for running a great contest! There was only a couple of guys inbetween my guess at 4.45 Grams. Wishing you the best out here in Arizona. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call or ask here on the forums. Take care, Rob Allison
  24. Hello All, Many .... many years ago I used to sell Fisher Metal Detectors under Fred Brust. Today a customer called and is trying to locate Fred. He mentioned he was in California the last time they talked. This customer had some very interesting stories about Arizona gold 20-25 years ago. Anyone know how this customer can get a hold of Fred Brust? Phone number, address, email? Thanks in advance, Rob Allison
  25. Hello Del, The old SD2100's are great detectors. There are several options with an SD. (1) Detacc makes a step-up regulator that can be attached to side of the metal detector. However, you need the stock lead-acid Minelab battery to power it. The regulator is very light and the same size as one of the Detacc amps that you attach to the side of the metal detector. The Detacc step-up regulator will take the stock voltage of 6v and increase it to 7.2-7.3 volts. (2) This is probably the most popular option, the new Coiltek Li-Ion Pocket Rocket system. This unit can be used on any SD/GP series. The entire system is only 14-15 ounces an can be mounted to the side of the metal detector. The unit comes with an adjustable regulator, short power cord, (2) 7800mah Li-Ion batteries, Wall/Car charger & Carry Pouch. With this system you ellimate any type of backpack or hanging power cord. If you want to increase performance even more, you can get a Detacc Signal Amp and DetectorPro Headphones. I sell all these items and they all are hot sellers like Uncle Ron stated. I also highly suggest a good Monoloop on the SD's like you already have. Take care, Rob Allison
