  1. Hello All, A friend is looking to sell a bunch of big gold nuggets. I know he is very interested in selling a solid 7.75 ounce gold nugget he found in the Bradshaw Mountain Range many years ago with a metal detector. I will have pictures of some of these big gold nuggets in a few days. I know he is wanting to get $1,000/ounce on these larger, solid gold nuggets. If you're interested, let me know. Rob Allison
  2. Hello All, Just went over and picked up a couple of used Minelab's a friend is selling. I will list them both individually, but just wanted to get this one on the forums. Minelab GP Extreme includes: Stock 11-inch Round Searchcoil Minelab 11-inch Mono Searchcoil (some wear) Coiltek 18-inch Mono Round Searchcoil (good condition) 12v Car Charger Stock Lead Acid Battery New Control Box Cover Two H/D Power Cords New Arm Cover GP Extreme Hard Carry Case (great condition) All this for $1,500. First one interested will take. Friend is firm on the price as of now. You can email me at - auplacers@yahoo.com, PM me through the forums or give me a call at the number listed below. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  3. Hey Allen, Congrats on your nice nugget found with the new Coiltek Goldstalker 18-inch. I've been getting a bunch of feedback from customer through email, but most of them are keeping it quiet until they hit some of their spots. I've been doing well with the new 14-inch working smaller gold bearing washes. Thanks for sharing, Rob Allison
  4. Hello Guys, I really liked the GP3500 and found a few pounds with mine over a few years of poking around the Arizona goldfields. JP has always been a great contributor on the forums, so I'm also glad he is helping out on my forum. Take care, Rob Allison
  5. Hello JP, I'm also looking forward to your new GPX-4500 DVD video. I know I probably couldn't order the amount as some of your other dealers, but I will do my best to order a batch and help you promote them. JP you have always been fair and honest to me, so it's my pleasure to help you out if possible. Keep us updated on the release of the DVD. Rob Allison
  6. Hello Matt, I ordered a very large batch of the new coils and it's about time to re-order. Doc even make a statement that I owed him a lot of money in Invoices! The word and reports are getting out about the new Coiltek Goldstalkers and the calls are really starting to come in now. I'm sure Coiltek is currently working on some other stuff, but I can't say too much .... Congrats on your success with the new coil. Hope you continue to post your success stories here. Rob Allison
  7. Hello Carl, It's sometimes impossible to get a "perfect" wrap, but the tighter is better for less change of falsing. You will have some slack at the bottom and towards the top where the searchcoil cable will enter the control box. Sometimes it takes a couple of times to get a good wrap from the bottom to top, but you don't have to be perfect. Also, from time to time pop off your searchcoil cover and clean it out and keep all your connections nice and snug. Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  8. Hello Matt, I haven't heard anything beyond the first part of April. I called Minelab USA last week to get any updates, but they are pretty hush-hush until they arrive. The minute I hear something solid about their ship date or arrival you guys will be the first ones to know. My pre-order list has jumped up a few more since the new pictures and more solid info. has been posted on the forums. Talk with you all soon, Rob Allison
  9. Hello Fred, My best friend was a Minelab dealer when the first SD2000's hit the US. I paid $3995.00 for mine!! Back then dealers could almost sell for what they wanted, but there is no way anyone could get a SD200 back then for $1,600. The dealer price was probably around $2,800 if not more back then. P.S. Many people were cleaning house back then with the first SD2000's. Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  10. Hello Lon, It was great doing business with you and your wife. You're going to have a blast with the new Minelab GPX-4000. I know you considered the GPX-4500, but you made a great choice with the 4000. Get out there and play around with the GPX for a few weeks and then we will schedule the field instructions. P.S. Took a customer out today that purchased a big Minelab, but none of us were able to find a nugget. I told the customer I want to get him back into the field so he can find at least his first gold nugget. Thanks once again for the business. Hope to see you here on the forums more often. Rob Allison
  11. Hello Carl, Everyone gave you some great advice. It's always best to keep the searchcoil cable away from the searchcoil as best as possible. I run mine straight up the lower shaft and then start wrapping at the the junction of the two shafts (lower meets upper). Standard electrical tape has always work good for securing the cable to the shaft. Take care, Rob Allison
  12. Hello Oakwoodtrucker, I think it's a great idea to give him another shot. There might have been some misunderstanding or confusion during the original purchase. Regardless, everyone deserves a chance to make it right! Take care, Rob Allison
  13. Hello Jyoung, Well you're probably out in the field finding targets by now. Wishing you the best of luck and hope to hear about your quest when you return. The SD2100 is still one of the hottest selling Minelab PI's. I've spend many years behind the SD's and found many pounds of gold with them. The SD2100 was my favorite and I liked the manual balance and ability to separate the channels. With smaller mono searchoils I found gold nuggets down to 3-4 grains in size. For added stability, audio and performance you might consider one of the Coiltek Li-Ion Regulated Battery systems in the future. The SD's are more immune to mineralization and get great depth on moderate to larger targets. Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  14. Hello Adam, Welcome to the Nuggethunting forums! I don't personally know much about that area, but I'm sure someone here will chime in and help out. I know Nevada is an excellent State for nugget hunting, especially up around Northern Nevada. If you don't already own it, you might get a copy of "Placer Gold Deposits of Nevada." This is a very popular booklet that I sell for $9.00. It breaks down each county and gives you the major placer locations throughout Nevada along with a small map. Take care, Rob Allison
  15. Hello All, I've seen a lot of talk about the Pulse Devil manufactured by Dave, but haven't seen a picture as of yet. I don't care much for the format on the "ProspectingOZ" forum, so was wondering if someone could post the picture and information here for us? Thanks, Rob Allison
  16. Hello Guys, I agree with the GM3. Over the years I've owned three of them, but ended up selling them off. I recently purchased another GM3 that's in excellent condition. I will probably keep this one. I've seen first hand what the GM3 can find that the big Minelab's miss, but I seen the flip side of that coin also, and what they have missed at extreme depths. Having a good VLF and PI is a great combination for just about anywhere. Take care, Rob Allison
  17. Hello Bugwhisker, Yes, there are guys that swear by Minelabs and will rant and rave about their sucess with them. I'm actually one of those people, but at the same time I've very open minded and optimistic about other products. I have a whole arsenal of metal detectors (VLF and PI) and a huge assortment of searchcoil sizes/configurations. Reg was a great contributor, but I told myself I'm not loosing anymore sleep over forum drama. Wishing you all the best, Rob Allison
  18. Hello Matt, Well, I told you all when Dennis found that small specimen under a DWT at nearly a foot deep it was a sleeper searchcoil! It will just be a matter of time until these coils become the leading sellers once again. Doc don't do a whole lot of advertisement, so I try to get as much information as possible out to the general public. Congrats on your recent gold finds. Hope you continue to share your adventures and pictures with us. Take care, Rob Allison
  19. Hello All, Below is a statement from a friend and his gold he found with the GPX-4000 and Coiltek Searchcoil. Congrats and Thanks for sharing! Take care, Rob Allison
  20. Hello Goldstudmuffin, Ya, you're probably right about the forums. I remember the old Yahoo Goldstalker forum where everyone used to post. Now there are dozens of Internet prospecting forums, some much more bias than others. I've always respected what others use. However, if I'm allowing others to voice their own opinions, please let me also voice mine, and my experiences with what I use on my own forum. I think that is only fair. Take care, Rob Allison
  21. Hello Shadow, Yes, I have the single GPX-4000 regulator or the complete system. The regulator alone is $159.95, or $275 for the entire system. P.S. Just to warn you, some of the older li-ion 7800mah batteries don't seem to work on the GPX regulator. I've had a few that worked great and a few that didn't. Go figure .... Let me know, Rob Allison
  22. Hello All, Well I believe Reg called it quits here on my Nuggethunting forums. Reg has always been a wealth of information on the forums, so I'm sure he will be missed. Reg don't care much for the "Minelab Morons," but some just love the fact they own a Minelab and have been success with it. I still remember a couple of years ago when I got his Father over a pretty decent Quartzsite gold nugget. This might have been his Father's last gold nugget he found. I sure miss the old hunting days over some of the old placer locations. Well, maybe someday I will bump into Reg field testing or playing around one of the Arizona goldfields. Until then, wishing you the best health, wellness and luck in the goldfields. Rob Allison
  23. Hello Shadow, There are advantages and disadvantages to both I guess. The stock GPX battery is much bigger in size and can't be mounted to the side of the metal detector. However, the stock battery will last longer per single battery over the Coiltek Pocket Rocket System. With the stock GPX battery, you're required to use the longer stock or aftermarket power cord, which will have a great change of snagging on trees and brush if they are around. I've broken more power cords by snags. The advantages of the Pocket Rocket are (1) Size, smaller than any other system available and can be easily mounted to the side of your metal detector. (2) Weight, lightest battery system available @ 14 ounces. (3) Two 7800mah li-ion batteries are included, which will last approx. 12-16 hours combined. (4) Comes with short power cord to elliminate all that potential snagging. Price is $275 for the complete Coiltek Li-Ion system. A stock replacement (or spare) GPX battery is $349.97 If you like wearing the stock harness or aftermarket backpack, they the stock battery might be right for you. However, I like the idea of being free from another dangling power cord. Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison
  24. Hello Shadow, No, the older SD/GP Pocket Rocket System won't work on the GPX-4000 even with the 4-5 pin adapter. The GPX shuts down at 7.2-7.3 volts, while that is the max voltage on the SD/GP system. Now if you have all the stuff from a prior Pocket Rocket system you might just invest in a GPX-4000 regulator only. Just one addition to that though, some of the older li-ion batteries that worked great on the SD/GP regultor might not work on the new GPX-4000 regulator. I have no clue why, but I've had several of them trip out and will not work properly on the newer system. Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  25. Hello Oakwoodtrucker, I hate to get involved with another dealers affairs, but maybe you should give him one last chance to respond back to you. Maybe a certified letter written from you about the situation and what he quoted you. What the dealer don't want to do is get a bad rap going. Bad news or business spreads extremely fast, but great service and sales spreads very slowly. Go figure .... I would give the dealer another chance to make it right. Rob Allison
