  1. Hello Guys, Got an update on what was being used by the customer/friend of mine. He was using the Coiltek 14-inch Mono Searchcoil on the GPX-4000. What a great combination. He also mentioned he has found some beautiful specimens with the Coiltek Wallaby DD Pro. I would agree with him, both the Coiltek 14-inch and Wallaby series are hot searchcoils. Coiltek sure makes quality products that I'm proud to own, operate and sell. This friend is excited about getting the new GPX-4500 and trying a new Coiltek Goldstalker Lightweight Mono Searchcoil. Thanks once again for sharing your finds and story with us. Rob Allison
  2. Hello Blues Dad, Get with me when you get out this way and maybe we can hook up. I have a couple of metal detectors that customers/friends can use. I'm only available on weekends, pretty much just Sunday's right now. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  3. Hello JP, Thanks for the information on the new GPX-4500. Sure sounds like another great metal detector. Please keep us updated on any new information. Take care, Rob Allison
  4. Hello Guys, The finder didn't mentioned what coil he was using, but I can find out. Not real sure if the specimen is up for sale, but I would pretty much say he is smart enough not to crush it up. That is one beautiful quartz/gold specimen. Take care, Rob Allison
  5. Hello Cooter, It's always great to see a customer find his first gold nugget. This is a real "charge" for me knowing I helped someone find their first! I would say almost all my customers find a nugget during field instructions, if not, I will reschedule another outing with them at another time. Yes, those new GoldStalker prospecting picks are a killer. Many really love them even though they might be a bit heavier. However, the weight comes from a much more quality Hickory handle and pick head that others manufactures don't offer. The GoldStalker picks are made here in the US and have a "Lifetime Warranty" to the original owner. Ya, I challenge anyone to break one! I've broke all the other picks in the past, so I will put this one to the test for sure. Does that lifetime warranty count for dealers also? LOL Take care, Rob Allison
  6. Hello Chuck, I'm also taking a pre-order list that I have started at the top of the pinned topics on this forum. Anyone interested in getting one of the first please get with me ASAP. My pre-order list has doubled over the last couple of days. Many want to be the first over some of the old patches in hopes of finding more gold nuggets that have been missed. It's my understanding the US selling price will be $4,995.97, while the retail will be $5,500.00. Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  7. Hello Dig4au, First I would like to welcome you to my nuggethunting.com forums! There is a difference between the GP3500 and GPX-4000. One of the best things I like about the GPX-4000 is the fact you can run Monoloop searchcoils over almost all the areas you couldn't with the GP3500. Some of the very highly iron mineralized areas and areas with a lot of volcanics I had to resort to a DD or DD Pro on the GP3500. I've been back to most of these places with the GPx-4000 and a mono coil and in some spots found nuggets that I missed. Some other big features on the GPX is better immunity to EM interference, better tuning with manual and auto operations, much smoother and a lot more user controls to find tune the detector to every type of ground condtion. Overall, I'm very impressed with the GPX-4000 and find it to be a big jump from prior Minelab PI's. On another note, I will be listing some used Minelab PI units within the next couple of days. I know I will have a used original SD2100 and GP Extreme along with a few others. Welcome once again to the forums, Rob Allison
  8. Hey Jim, It's to early for me to pay fees and get restricted, I just got my Quad! My old legs are worn out from all that hiking. Sure hope it doesn't pass. Rob Allison
  9. Hey Ted, Congrats on the new find. I don't know how many lonely nuggets I have found like that, but it's worth checking out the nearby areas. Wishing you more luck in the area, Rob Allison
  10. Hello All, Just wanted to let you know I've personally been testing the new Coiltek GoldStalker Mono Searchcoils for over two months now with great success. However, the recent customer feedbacks I'm getting are great. Customers are very excited about the new design, color, lightweight and no falsing! I still have a small amount left before I order another batch. I believe there are some that I still have on my pre-order list that I haven't called, or they haven't contacted me. I'm sure since the forum dumped several didn't know they arrived. If you're still interested, give me a call at 623-362-1459 or shoot me over an email. I just recently posted some of my gold finds with the new coils on the "Pinned Topic." Take care, Rob Allison
  11. Hello All, Last Sunday I took out Don and his wife JoAnn. They recently purchased the Minelab GPX-4000 Metal Detector with a bunch of other accessories. During this outing Ken P. from Morristown, also a GPx-4000 owner joined to get some pointers on the unit. We all met up on the 24K Gold Hunters Claims at Rich Hill. After we all equiped out detectors we headed we hiked over to a small wash where I have found a bunch of nuggets in the past. Biggest piece I found in this location was a 9+ ounce quartz/gold specimen that had over 5 ounces of gold within. Ken, Don and JoAnn were very interested to hear about the history and placer working of Rich Hill. As we walked along this small gulch, I was able to point out locations were I found gold nuggets and why they were found at those spots. The old-timers pretty much worked all these small gullies from the top to bottom. Later in the day after I felt Don was confident with the GPX-4000, I got mine up and running. To my surprise there was still a lot of targets in this location. After several hours Don finally was able to hear a good target and dig up a small Rich Hill gold nugget (pictured below). I had a great time during field instructions and wanted to personally Thank Don and JoAnn for their business. It was also great to have Ken along, he really hunted hard the entire day. Take care, Rob Allison
  12. Hello All, Just recently I received this email and picture from a friend/customer. The person owns a Minelab GPX-4000 metal detector. Wishing you the best of luck out there and Thanks for sharing your finds!
  13. Hello Slim, I got it resolved. When my ISP moved my website and forum to another platform they messed up some forum files. However, everything should be fine now. If not, please let me know. Thanks, Rob Allison
  14. Hello All, Well I was finally able to get my forum back online. I must say it was a very easy fix, but I had not clue what was causing the problem. Whenever my ISP moves my website and forum to another server or platform, they always seem to mess up my forum. This was the case again this time. However, Invision Board Tech Support has not problem getting the board back online, once I was able to actually talk with someone. Take care, Rob Allison
  15. Hello Allen, Congrats on getting your new Coiltek GoldStalker coil. I really love the 14-inch elliptical for all around hunting, but the 18.5-inch gets great depth and still has good sensitivity to smaller gold at depth on the GPX-4000. Keep us all updated on how the coil does. Rob Allison
  16. Hello Uncle Ron, Congrats on your new finds. I haven't been out too much on my own, been conducting more field instructions for new Minelab owners. Take care, Rob Allison
  17. Hello Steve, I agree with you! I think everyone should stick to the GPX-4000 and prior, while I field test the GPX-4500 for about a year. Now I will be honest and show you all the gold I found with the new unit! Minelab has always built a better detector with the newer versions, some better than others. I think the greatest gains that I personally seen were - (1) SD2000 over prior VLF models (2) GP Extreme over SD series (3) GPX-4000 over prior GP series I have heard of some of the new changes to the GPX4500, but really don't want to talk about them since I have not seen the unit in person yet. I guess I might have one before Moore Creek! Rob Allison
  18. Hello Reg, Very surprising they are releasing another metal detector so soon. However, Minelab might be trying to capitalize on the high price of gold. Wonder what the new GPX-4500 will have to offer? Will the new unit be completely digital? Inquirying minds want to know, Rob Allison
  19. Hello All, How do I miss all these Birthdays .... ? Happy Belated Birthday Flak! Rob Allison
  20. Hello Karl, I think Garrett lost a lot of business when they didn't introduce a Monoloop coil when the metal detector was first released. Many of the users were not real impressed with the gold finding ability of the Garrett Infinium with the DD loop. I've only used one for a short period of time, so I don't want to come off as an expert on one. From what most mentioned, it did awesome on the beaches and done fair nugget hunting. I'm sure it's a great PI, you just have to spend time and learn what it can and can't do. All metal detectors, even the most expensive have limitations. Wishing you the best, Rob Allison
  21. Hello Dan and Chuck, Thank You both for all your business! Dan - Tomorrow I will be conducting field instructions on the 24K claims if you're around. Maybe if you're not working I will see you swinging your new coil. Take care, Rob Allison
