  1. Hello Guys, Nuggetdigger - No biggie, you were just looking out for others. I see both of your sides and everything is ok. Mike C - Yes, I agree with you. There didn't seem to be too many GP Extreme's that were alike. I know mine was very noisy, but hot on small gold. Have you been out nugget hunting? Take care, Rob Allison
  2. Hello Guys, Here is a scanned image of my nuggets from today. Still not the great scan. Take care, Rob Allison
  3. Hello Guys, When back out today with Leaverite, Glenn, Jim P. and a new guy named Mike. Jim and his Son stayed at one placer location with Mike, while Leaverite, Glenn and I headed to another spots for a bit. I hit one small nugget at the first spot, maybe about 1/2 Dwt in size. This spot was where I hit the 8.6 Dwter some time ago and Glenn found about a dozen smaller nuggets there. Leaverite also found a small nugget from this spot, maybe 4-5 grains in size. Later in the day we returned back to the first location. Glenn ended up findiing (2) and I found (3). I ended up with (4) nugget for the day for a total of 4 Dwt's. In the picture below you will see our nuggets. The (4) on top are mine. The (2) on the left are Leaverite's. One found today, one found on anothe trip during the week. Glenn's are on the bottom. He found the (2) on the bottom left today, the larger specimen was right at 5 Dwt's and found in a very remote placer location that he just discovered. P.S. Digital is taking "Pink" pictures again. Time to pull out my new Canon Elph. Take care, Rob Allison
  4. Hello Guys, Went back out today and picked up (4) more. Glenn found (2) and Leaverite (1). Matt - Yes, found all the nuggets with the new coil. Take care, Rob Allison
  5. Hello BigEd, Yep, I've heard the same, but don't have an Eureka Gold anymore to give it a whirl. However, have heard that from several Eureka Gold users. Never hurts to experiment with the metal detectors to find out more about them. Thanks for posting the tip! Rob Allison
  6. Hello All, I was in the field all day today, but received a call from Dawn that there was some debate on my Classified Section. I had Dawn delete the debate, but wanted to clarify something. The "Classified Section" is FREE to use. I don't ask for anything, just that you list everything you can about whatever you're trying to sell. I also encourage pictures if you have them. Now someone mentioned about having Minelab "upgrade" a metal detector. Dick Shultz is not only a great friend, but head of the Repairs at Minelab USA, Inc. Minelab doesn't "upgrade" metal detectors to a newer unit, nor modify them to "perform better" than what they originally did. Minelab USA, Inc. in Las Vegas can do all repairs on Minelab Metal Detectors, but they don't upgrade or modify any metal detectors. It is very possible for them to replace small electronic components with newer, updated parts to make whatever repairs are needed. Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  7. Hello All, Today Leaverite and I done some recon in some new spots. The area required quads and a lot of leg-work. However, the long haul landed us with almost a dozen gold nuggets and a new area to prospect. Leaverite found signs of old hand-stacking in one remote wash where a few gold nuggets were found today. I ended up with (8) and Leaverite with (3). All the gold nuggets were found with Minelab GPX-4000's and Secret Coiltek Searchcoils. Take a gander at the pictures below. Rob Allison
  8. Hello Chris, Will you be at the GPAA Show in Phoenix this year with the ICMJ? Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  9. Hello Nuggetbrain, You're right, most detectorist don't find nugget every time out. Although, many of us could find nuggets every trip if we really wanted to continue to hit older productive spots. I know for a fact I could find a nugget on every trip if I really wanted to, but wouldn't be able to prospect for new spots. I've done all the drywashing, dredging, sluicing panning and never found anything close to what I'm getting detecting. All means of prospecting if fun though. I sure love to see those nuggets on bedrock when you're dredging. Take care, Rob Allison
  10. Hello Jim, Thanks for the comments. It was great talking with you on the phone for an hour or so. Hope to eventually get to meet you one of these days at an outing. Wishing you the best, Rob Allison
  11. Hello Guys, I have yet to do a specific gravity test. I have all the stuff to do the test, but been pretty busy. The minute I conduct the test I will post the results. Any guesses on the amount of gold the specimen might contain? Total weight was 2.28 Troy ounces with only a dozen or so spots of gold showing. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  12. Hello Dredger1, They are digging in all the wrong areas. There are spots at Rich Hill were I know I can get an easy Dwt in a couple of hours. However, not talking down about anyone, but there are too many "know it alls" out there right now. I met one guy last year that was doing very well drywashing in various spots. P.S. Did you get your handle resolved? Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  13. Hello Scorpion, Pretty much right at the surface. Screams on a GPX-4000, but pretty much any detector would have heard it. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  14. Hello Guys, Was having some FTP problems a few nights ago, so I called the hosting company. I believe most of the major gold forums are all with the same company, but I could be wrong. The Hosting Company mentioned they were moving to a newer server with different V-Deck controls. They said mine will be moved also in the near future. I know the last time they moved my site, they screwed up the forums ... Just a heads up, Rob Allison
  15. Hello Richard, You should receive the Coiltek Pocket Rocket system anytime. This system will make your SD2200 more stable and you will get a bit more depth and sensitivity due to this. The weight is unbelievable, you will see! Haven't heard back from you on the coil. Let me know when you get some free time. P.S. 2.8 ounces in 11 nuggets! What was the biggest piece, solid or specimens? Congrats. Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  16. Hello Guys, Wes - Thanks! The BlackWidow's are awesome headphones. Jim's been talking about writing a newer booklet about gold and meteorites. Reg Sniff and I were going to originally help, but everyone got so busy the booklet never got going. I believe Jim is still considering this booklet though. There is another that I'm going to talk with here soon that is writing a revised book on Rich Hill and the History. This could be a very interesting book. Matt - Heard El Dorado does some excellent work! Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  17. Hello Grubstake, Check your PM for starters. Sold a GPX-4000 to a customer down in Yuma. Was going to head down there this weekend, but not sure now due to the nasty weather going to hit. Have a few patches I want to recheck down there while I conduct field instructions. Take care, Rob Allison
  18. Hello Colombo973, Without another coil to try, it's tough to diagnose. However, take Flak's advice and remove the coil cover and clean the coil and cover off real well. Sometimes if a small fragment of metal or even some black sands it can cause the detector to go nuts! I'm sure you checked all connections, but make sure they are hand tight and not loose. Loose connections can also cause a machine to make a lot of noise. I would also remove the battery, check the connections and give it another whirl. Did you happen to get the stuff I sent you? Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  19. Hello Guys, Thanks for the comments. A better year for number of gold nuggets, but not the best for weight. The total weight is just over 18-ounces of gold (1 1/2 Troy Pounds). Can still remember those 3-4 Troy Pound years .... Since that picture I found more nuggets/specimens. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  20. Hello All, Just wanted to show you a new find. Can't say too much right now. 2.28 Ounce Gold & Quartz Specimen. Small amounts of gold is shot through the quartz. The specimen screams on a GPX-4000, so there must be more gold within. I'm going to do a specific gravity test on the specimen to see how much gold it really contains. Going to hit the sack, I'm burned out ... Rob Allison
  21. Hello All, Just wanted to let everyone know, all Minelab Dealers should have changed all Minelab metal detector prices to the new 2008 prices. Effective today all Minelab metal detector prices have increased. I've adjusted my prices to the new prices and changed around the bundle packages a bit. If you have any questions, please feel free to call. I do have bundle packages on all Minelab Metal Detectors. Wishing you all a Happy New Year. Rob Allison
  22. Hello HotRock, I know of some spots that need some prospecting that have potential. Shoot me over a PM or give me a call. Maybe now you will stay out of my Bradshaw patches .... LOL Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  23. Hello Digau, I thought for a long time a full sized truck was best. You can have all your prospecting and camping gear with you at all times. However, after buffing the trucks paint and getting stuck a few times I had to find something else that made more sense. I finally went out and purchased a new Polaris 500 Sportsman EFI 4x4 Quad. Man, talk about covering the country fast and not tearing apart my full sized GMC anymore. I considered a side by side quad (like the Rhino or Ranger), but since I'm just one person and all my friends had quads it made more sense to purchase a quad. I purchased a nice plastic case for the back of the quad, one that has the back rest seat. I can carry my entire metal detector, several coils and all the accessories and then some! Speaking of Jeep Cherokees, my partner owned a stock one and we got into places I couldn't believe. They are great 4x4er's if the trail is wide enough for them. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  24. Hello Reg, I think the Havasu Gold Seekers and Weaver both have it together. They charge in the range of $30-$50 for a yearly membership. For guys that might come out and only hunt the claims a few times it's worth the investment. I've tried to talk Elly (24K Gold Hunters) into doing daily and weekly memberships for the guys that will only be able to visit a few days or up to a week. However, she had no interests at the time. I thought about claiming a bunch of good nugget hunting areas and doing the same, but it's too much headache to run and maintain. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  25. Hello Guys, Uncle Ron - Thanks! I know, Leaverite says I need to clean my nuggets also, but I like to take pictures of them right out of the ground. AzNuggetBob - Yeppers! If we get done hunting early I will give you a call and stop over and show you personally. I think you're going to love them. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
