NathanJ
Hi All,I owned a MineLab SD 2100 a while back, loved it but had to sell it.Now I am hoping to get back into the swing of things by purchasing a used GPX or GP (4800, 5000, 3500 or similar). My question is related to my targets. While I will be occasionally nugget hunting, my primary focus for the year will belocating a series of old metal containers (larger iron kettles) with some gold and iron wrapped up in them. My problem is that they aremost certanly buried at a depth 4 to 6 feet in lightly mineralized areas with minor localized electrical interference. Some of these locations will be down in the cobbles of a riverside. What kind coil am I looking for here for these larger iron and gold targets?Coiltek 22" mono? Double D?Thanks in advance!~Nathan
frank c
I WOULD SUGGEST A Nuggetfinder 16 inch. You will get the depth you want plus on targets the size of a tea kettle. And you will also detect small nuggets with it as well as larger ones.I have dug four foot deep holes for the old fashioned style medium sized sardine cans approximately 5 inches wide.No problem on a tea kettle sized object. And its lightweight and has very good coverage with each swing. NathanJ
Look like there is a solid coil and a superlight coil version. I'm assuming you mean the "Superlight" version? Thanks!
way2cool
I think the solid coil weighs just a few ounces more. I think that is what I read. I would ask Rob.

Ridge Runner
Hi Nathan I don't know if this will help you but I have a two box detector made by Fisher like new. If you think you could use it let me know and we'll talk more. Chuck
