SGTFDA
Gary, I'm real sorry to hear that. They are now using stem cells to rebuild the heart. They grow them from your own stem cells then inject it into the heart. Rebuilds it like new. There is a clinic on the coast in Ca. that's doing it but it is expensive from what I hear. My prayers are with you.Frank
grubstake
Hey good to hear from you Frank, getting about time, you retire isn't it? Admin nuggethunting Posted September 9, 2008 Admin Report Share Posted September 9, 2008 Hello Guys, I contacted Minelab and several other distributors and they all send out their prayers and well being, but don't want to get involved in issues like this. They said if they helped one, they would have to help everyone. I can see their point to some degree. I asked if I could raffle something and they didn't give me a clear answer, so I'm not going to take any chances at this point. I will personally donate some money into the account to help out though. Grubstake, please keep us updated on Alec. Talk with you later,Rob Allison
grubstake
Thank God, Sandtraps cousin, Jack London, lives in Vegas, he has got Alec an apionment at Loma Linda on next Friday, for them to see him. First time will be for test and a counseling, then they will decide what to do, Alec is very sick, not eating, losing weight and has a hard time remembering anything, Stella said he was throwing up alday yesterday. I told her to call me later tonight and give me an up date, and to check the paypal account to make sure everything is working ok. They will drive down Thrusday for the Friday hospital vist. Jack London, Jerry Balcer's cousin, is really making things happen for Alec. I thank God for all of you guys, and I believe a man is judged by his friends, I'm rich beyond my dreams. as I have sooo many friends, some of which are helping and I have not even met. I thank you! My grandson is only 7 and needs a chance at life, and you guys are giving that to him. Now If the DRS. will just do there part. We will have it beat. Grubstake up date more tonight. grubstake
I have a question, about paypal, Stella said there $338.00 in the paypal account as tonight, which is linked to that new checking account she opened, Question is its not showing up in her bank account, can someone tell me how long this normally takes to to do? I told her to call paypal tomarrow and find out. This is all totally new to me and her. I know zip about paypal. Thanks Grubstake
Admin nuggethunting Posted September 10, 2008 Admin Report Share Posted September 10, 2008 Hey Grubstake, If it's normal Paypal account, people can send funds with an email address like you attached in a prior post. However, this will just put the funds in the Paypal account, not in another personal account. Stella probably hooked her personal account in with Paypal, but you must go into Paypal and then click the "Withdraw" funds tab, then "Transfer to Bank Account. From there you can tell Paypal you want to withdraw whatever amount from the Paypal account to your personal account. This will take anywhere from 3-7 business days before the funds will show up and are available for withdraw. Hope this helps,Rob Allison

grubstake
Tom, ROB started this donation thread, It comes from his heart and all that donate, it comes from theres also, I don't expect Minelab to donate, I never expected anyone too. I just thank GOD that they are my extended family and want too do this for Alec and Stella. She is thankful also, I have always had Minelab and will continue to have. If not for detecting, I would have given up on life many years ago. It keeps me going, that and my friends. I'm blessed with many. And thankful for them all! They are an extention of me. Some I have never met inperson, but feel I know them like my next door neighbor. These guys are Great. Donations or no donations, there supporting me and Dorthy and Alec and Stella in this hard time. Alec is the most important thing. He is going to get the help he neededs. 7 years old, is just too young not to have a chance at life. I would trade my life for his, I have lived a full life, no regrets, seen most everything, been most everywhere. Life is good and I want it to be good for Alec. We love him, and GOD does to. and by they prayers that are on this forum and GODS will he will make it. Grubstake
Admin nuggethunting Posted September 10, 2008 Admin Report Share Posted September 10, 2008 Hey Tom and All, To be very honest, we don't need Minelab to help. We all have enough resources through the Internet, friends, clubs and forum to get the funds and support we need for Alec. Just remember, GOD might close doors, but always leaves at least one Widow open for you! Talk with you later,Rob Allison

Certainly wasn't my intention. well garry iam gla to see you have many suporters and i pray for your familly to make it through these tought times....it just urked me when i read robs post..about minelab couldnt help because then evryone would want something..i feel though as they could do something being aware of the situation..i know iam not on everyones gratest wish list here on your forum..but ile get a contribution sent to the paypal account when i get back from texas..hope all ends wellI was also surprised by their response, and would have expected at least one of the big companies to step up to the plate and offer help. Helping to save a child's life is not only the right thing to do when one has the resources, but the company would have received positive publicity in the process. Ray in CA
Grubby, I'll keep him in my prayers too. I'm so sorry to hear about this. Just like the docs to try and cover it up too. Our politicians are so concerned about handguns and yet docs kill more people exponentially every year than guns. Oh well, no use complaining...better to pray.Ray

grubstake
Well got off the phone with Stella just awhile ago, the company she worked for has refused to pay her her back pay, the company is Aristocrat.com they make gaming soft whare for the casinos, they are also own by an Aussie firm. She has put in for an apprentiship at the Electritions Union, in Vegas, So if anyone conected to that could put a word in it would help. She was a superviser at Aristocrat.com. And they owe her alot of back pay, but it looks like the labor board is going to have to get it for her. alec is loooking forward to seeing the Dr. he is very sick, and Sponge Bob is his favorite show. Shcool used to be something he was happy to go too, but they won't let him go until he gets better. I hope that is sooner rather than Later. Thanks all you guys. What you are doing is helping her alot. Atleast its taking part of the stress out. Grubstake
Uncle Ron
Grubstake, what is Alec's current medical health status?Ron
grubstake
Ron, he has what is calle a third degree AV block, after he had his tonsils removed and was in recovery, they gave him a pain shot to num his throat, he had a reaction, and his heart stopeed, it was a long time before they got it started back up, he has so much heart damage, he has an Irregular heart beat on and off, They first said he might get by with a defibulator pace maker, then when the surgons examind him, they said it was too risky, that his heart could stop and so much damage they couldn't get it started again, 5 different sugons looked at him. All said the same thing, that he was too much of a risk. So they said he would prob. have to have a heart transplant, he is on the list. Also Loma Linda said they would look at him, they have a heart DR. that thinks he can help, but not for sure, he has to see him, not just his file and personally do some test. Thats what will happen on the 19th. He has memory loss, cold sweats, heart palpations, and can't be left alone, who ever is with him has to be trained in CPR and how to use a defibulato. He can't do anything but watch TV or play vido games, even that tires him, he has not been eatting, and has been throwing up a lot. he is so bad they told Stella, he could just go to sleep and not wake up. In a word. He's BAD. Grubstake
