I'm getting ready to take Dorthy to her DRS. at 3 pm, tonight she will be in church until 10 pm, tomarrow we go have church pictures taken at 11 am, and Sunday Dorthy wil be in church again, and I'll be out with the gold gods, detecting. Best to ask Stella to make a post, and let everyone know, if she needs anything else and how Alec is doing. She knows my password and can log on under my forum name. grubstake Posted October 4, 2008 Author Report Share Posted October 4, 2008 Ron, my family came out from Oklahoma during the dust bowl days, They picked fruit, and we live in a place called lenell camp, down by Visaila, I was born in 1949 in Tulare Ca. we moved to Monterey Ca. and my mother and all the rest of the family worked in the fish canneries, My mother got a beter job, as a waitress at Mikes seafood on the pier. I went to school on FT. ord for junior high and then we moved to Fresno, my step dad worked for the calf. Div of Forestry up at three rivers, We did not get along, I was 17 when I joined the Army, and haven't looked back since. My mother divorced my step dad while I was in Nam. He took a liking to me when I was 12 ... Yes she can get a job with minmum wage, but that doesn't even come close to paing rent, much less by food for two and day care, But that not the piont. She had full medicl, he can't go to school, because of the risk, day care won't take him, The DR is tring to back out, because of the risk factor. Jerry and Paullett know whats what, they have called the governor on her behalf, and she and Alec are staying with them. Not nothing funnny going on, and I don't even like the way your saying that. If you gave her a $100.00 she is greatful for that. But you truely just have no! clue whats taking place. Alec can die at any time. Thats how serious this is. Its not a game! only the truth. You really piss me off Tom, she asked no one for help, I asked that she and Alec be prayed for, by those that do pray. Her work is not about to give you or anyone else imformation about her, #1 its confidental, # 2 She has a law suit against them for wrongful termination. If he donated a $100.00 to Stella and Alec, good on him, but that doen't give him the right to put my daughter and Grandson down! we know whats going on, you and I, because Stella and Alec are living with you. He doesn't know anything. I know Stella called and told Dorthy, Alec was having a hard time and wanted her to come out, But with Dorthys heath like it is, its just imposable. She's on Oxagen, and her Diabeates meds have to be refidgeated, they won't let her travel on the plane or bus, with her ox. generator, and yesterday, she had to get a shot in her back, because of the 4 ruputered disck she has is giving her so much pain. It put her to sleep until I got her up when Stella called. I sure hope Stella follows through with the channel 8 reporters. I think its the only way, there going to get enough bad press to do something for Alec before he dies. Gary Ps thanks for jumping in, I'm already so up tight, and have been thinking of doing something about this myself, and it won't be good. After having 7 heart attacks myself, I know what kind of pain Alec is going through, with getting sick and throwing up, cold sweats, weakness, feeling like your going to pass out at any minute, And also the stroke I had a year or so ago. Low blood presure, high blood presure. I know it all. Not 7 year old boy should have to be going through that! Just because some DR. screwed up big time. I'm so mad, words can't express it. But I'm also thankful for you and Paullett and all the others that have helped Alec and Stella. Dorthy and I feel so helpless, were so far away. I'm aware of what happened the first time around but what happened with their testing and the doctors prognosis of his condition and how to properly threat it there after? Was treatment an insurance issue?First, could his condition be treated at Loma Linda? If so, what was said?Second, the same LV doctors agreed, after flying in a specialist, that a pace-maker was not in the best interest of Alec and the LV Hospital, hence the subsequent follow-up trips made to Loma Linda. So now it appears everthing is back to "square one", respective to dealing with the LV Hospital and thier team of surgens! Or, is this one doctor thats being "pasted against the wall" by the LV Hospital being "used" to come up with a solution that would imdemnify them in any lawsuit? Third, IMHO, the LV doctors are in a CYA mode of operation as can be witnessed from the beginning.I'm so pissed-off about this whole scenario that you and your family have been put through that I want to scream.....and I'll hold back but only for a moment! We, our family, have some small sources of people which may be able to help. I'll see what we can do. With respect to "Tom", I'd give him a break of "sorts" at least for now respective to what he wrote. Like yourself I would be upset to his written words as well Gary and Jerry. But even the "good" in us is not all 'wired' in the same way! jet521 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Share Posted October 5, 2008 Hello Gary (GotGold) and all....I know you said PM or Email but I'll keep it in the Forum....Yes to your First Question We had High hopes that the Dr's at Loma Linda would run the test and Fix Alec while they were there the second time....It was not a Issue of Insurance...I think it was a CYA because they consulted with the LV Dr's...After the test were ran the Dr wanted Stella to come back down there in 2 weeks for another visit...unlike her First Visit the Dr appeared to be in a Very big hurry to get Alec Fixed....Stella wanted to know if they were even going todo anything with Alec because time is running out....They would not answer her and got defencive...Stella came back to Vegas. 9/29Second Question.....While Stella was at Loma Linda the LV Dr's called 9/28 and said that they would do Alec' surgery on 10/9.....I am not sure if it is the same Dr or not but my wife Paulette said that he is a Good Dr...Stella called and made the appointment....They have a Pror appointment on Tuesday 10/7 and my wife will be there also....It all seems that they are not only covering for each other but also trying to wear us down on getting anything done for Alec...After two trips to Loma Linda and the way they treated her the last time she will not go back there so I was told by Stella....so now we are waiting for the LV Dr to come up to the Plate on the 9th to get Alec Fixed ....I hope I answered your Questions ...I did the best I could....Thank you Gary...........jer aka jet521 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Stella has call two christian radio stations and is calling Channel 8 in Vegas to see if she can come in and tell her story. She can't get Medicaid in the state, because they say she made too much last year. So if Alec doen't have this sugery, he has not got a chance. Of living much longer. I'm asking for Stella and Alec, if you can give her anything, Doen't matter how little. Please sent it directly to her at. The hospital is going to work to try and get her work insurance back{Cobra} so she will be partialy covered, But still have out of pocket money to pay. Not knowing exactly where this thing is going I want to interject my thoughts.The news media in Las Vegas, all of them, Channel 3, 5, 8, 13 should all be notified NOW! Not a week from now, and not after you see, WHAT if anything, is going to be done.Media pressure and public outcry is the best way to get this situation the attention it needs, and the action that so desperately needs to be taken.Obviously action is needed not ONLY for Alec's sake, but also this fiasco with Stella getting fired and the company refusing to give her the back pay they owe her.As a matter of fact, this whole thing should have been turned over to the media the first time the doctors started jerking Stella around.As a matter of fact, I think you should notify the Associated Press, and get this some national exposure as well. They said it would hurt her case she has against all party's involve. On the good news side. We just got done talking to Stella and they said Medicaid is going to cover the surgery. Alec will have his surgery on Oct. 9th they have to be there for pre-op at 12 noon he will go in for surgery at 2 pm, it will take between 3 and 6 hours for the surgery. So everyone please pray he makes it through. Its a very high risk surgery, and less of a chance he will come through it, than make it, but his options are up, he will die with in a month if he doesn't get it. But will have a much better chance if he does. And yes DOC, I was ready to come out myself, and as you say. Take things in my own hands. Hell I'm dieing anyway. Not much longer for me either. Hearts just too bad and to many other things wrong with me, that can't be cured. I'm on gods time now. So I had some crazy Ideals too. But now that won't be happening. Since there going to work on him. Just pray he does ok in the surgey. Thats all I ever wanted them to doi, give him a chance. Thanks guys Grubstake I don't know if you all have ever seen that movie with Desel Washington, where his son needed a heart transplant, and they wouldn't give it to him, because of insurance.
