  1. Hello Bunk, I seen the website is now down. Not sure if Elly is doing changes or the site is done with. As for receiving back payment, I heard you have to send her a letter requesting the remainder of your membership back ($1 per day left I believe). I know a friend mentioned that a bunch of people at the LDMA Camp are waiting for their money also. You might want to try the new email address that Uncle Ron posted. Take care, Rob Allison
  2. Hey Alan, I agree that is probably another major factor on why the prices have been reduced. Wishing you luck over there, Rob Allison
  3. Hello All, Just a quick update on the 24k club. Many members have requested their membership to be reinbursed. Many members have already received their money for the remainder amount of time they had left in the club. If anyone is looking to pull out of the club you must write Elly in person and request your remainder amount back. Take care, Rob Allison
  4. Hey Jim, Good to hear from you. I don't think any new metal detector is coming out, just the fact the economy is bad and sales are down compared to the last couple of years. Most dealers that I talk with agree that sales are still there, but less than the last couple of years. I'm still loving me GPX-4500, just haven't been out with it much lately. Hope all is well on your end. Rob Allison
  5. Hey Lucky, You're very welcome. Just to let everyone know, the prices are firm, but I might be able to wheel and deal if someone is interested in one or maybe several items for sale. Take care, Rob Allison
  6. Hello All, Just wanted to let everyone know the Minelab GPX-4500's are now selling for $4,499.95, which is now $500 less than before. 9. Hey Guys, I didn't realize Terry Soloman was the guy driving the Hummer. I talked with this guy several times through email and he seemed pretty nice. I was thinking it was another guy in Stanton that purchased the claims. I know Terry Soloman tried to purchase Potato Patch and also tried to purchase Chris Gholson's claims. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  10. Hey Mark, When I talked with Elly a few months back I asked her how much she would sell all the Devils Nest claims. She told me she wanted no less than two million for the Devil's Nest claims. Now we all know they are not worth that type of price, but $100,000 - $200,000 might be more realistic at todays price of gold. All I can do is wish her the best of luck. The 24k Gold Hunters Club was unique and one of the best! Take care, Rob Allison
  11. Hey Everyone, I know when people hear bit and pieces rumors start. However, even though there might have been some rumors, for the most part the stuff was true. Claims did get sold and many people involved in the club are upset cause those were in my opinion the best claims in the club. The Devil's Nest was one of the richest areas on Rich Hill. The other claims are up for sale, so I don't think the club will be around long. I know I talked with a handful of people at the Gold Show that were excited to hit the pushes for the first time. They just joined and drove all the way from back east to try new metal detectors. I really feel sorry for these new members as they won't get a chance to see the pushes .... I heard the meeting got cancelled, but think that was probably a good idea. I'm sure the meeting would have been full of bitching and fighting. Just my thoughts, Rob Allison
  12. Hey Guys, Not sure what type of free time I will have them, but I'm hoping I can escape for a day or two. I might need it after changing all those diapers ... If we plan on doing a trip with the Goldstudmuffins, I have a few spots in there we can also check out. The best days for me will probably be the weekends, just let me know what you're thinking. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  13. Hey Everyone, I might have jumped the gun a bit, but had a lot of people calling me asking me what happened. Even thought I'm a Board Memeber, I heard the news from other members. Guess we will have to wait and see what happens. Talk with you all later, Rob Allison
  14. Hey Guys, It is official even though I haven't talked with Elly in person. Many are running around Stanton with their arms up in the air wondering what happened. I guess Elly has been telling members that she has no plans to sell the club or break it up and then this happens. I seen this coming to be honest ... but hoped liked hell it was just my gut instinct telling some something that wasn't true. I don't know the guy in the Hummer, but never heard a good thing about him. Many have had run-ins with him that were not pleasant to say the least. I just feel sorry for all the people that have paid up memberships. You need to make sure you get your money back in full. Each month is worth $29.17. As an example, if you have three months left on your current membership, you should be refunded $87.51 in full. Just my thoughts at this time. Rob Allison
  15. Hello Doc, This years Phoenix GPAA Gold Show was a big hit for us! We did better the first day then we did the last couple of time there. Many of the dealers mentioned the first day they kicked butt even though the economy is down. A bunch of big Minelab's were sold, a handful of SD's and some of the lower end units. I talked with Gus a few times at the show. If I knew he was going down there I would of had him work my booth. I had so many customers the first day Dawn, Dennis, Jim and I couldn't get to everyone. Take care, Rob Allison
  16. Hello All, Dawn and I went down to the GPAA Gold Show today to set up most of our booths for this weekend. Looked like a good showing of vendors this year. Just wanted to let everyone know that might show up that it's now in the Agriculture Bldg., not the main Coliseum Bldg like last year. Still at the State Fairgrounds @ 19th ave. and McDowell Rd. You can enter the State Fairgrounds off of McDowell Road or 19th Ave. Hours: Saturday and Sunday - 10am to 5pm. Cost $5 per person, Children under 12 are free. The Agriculture Bldg is the further Bldg to the South on the Fairgrounds property. Hope to see you all there. Rob Allison
  17. Hey Guys, I think I fixed the problem. There was still a subforum that was accessable that dated back to 2003. I deleted it, so everything should be good now. Let me know if not. Rob Allison
  18. Hey Russ, Great looking nugget. How big is it? Rob Allison
  19. Hey Grubstake, Do you still see it? I don't see anyone listed on the Birthday list .... Rob Allison
  20. Hey Grubstake, I don't see anyone. Am I missing something .... ? Rob Allison
  21. Hey Gary, Just curious if you guys (Uncle and you) have tried the Hillside patch lately? That was a very interesting place and seems there would be more gold left. However, I know you took a bunch of guys in there. Hope you're not buried under snow. Rob Allison
  22. Hello All, Just curious if anyone knows if the major drainages such as Black Canyon, Turkey, Wolf, Groom, Poland, Humbug and other major drainages in the Bradshaw Mountain range are running, or running better since the recent rains? I'm chomping at the bit to do some more dredging before the water goes away ... Take care, Rob Allison
  23. Hey JT, You will have a blast out here in Arizona. March is a great time of year and most of the rains should be over with. The Stanton, Arizona (Rich Hill) area has been very productive in the past to metal detectorist, dredgers and drywashers. The water is very seasonal, so for the most part drywashing/vac-packing is the ticket along with detecting. Some do bring water and recycle it with highbankers in such in certain areas. I would seriously consider purchasing the Rich Hill maps of the area. I have them, along with the Map Maker Uncle Ron. These maps will give a very good idea of what is claimed and by what clubs. The LDMA, GPAA, Weaver Mining, Roadrunner Prospecting Club, WSPA and 24K Gold Hunters Club are some of the main ones. The GPX-4000 you purchased will give you a great chance to find some of that ellusive Rich Hill Gold! Wishing you the best out there, Rob Allison
  24. Hello Everyone, I just wanted to tell everyone "Thanks" for the prayers and concerns. Dawn is not only my Wife, but my best friend and once my greatest prospecting partner (when she would go). Heck, she was outshooting me for a while (a long story!). I'm lucky to have Dawn as my wife, but also lucky she is a RN. She's very knowledgeable and knows the Human Body from one end to another. Thanks everyone, Rob Allison
  25. Hey NuggetBob, Very good advice about the Mono vs. DD coils. I agree, on the older SD's and GP series a Mono coil can pick up a bunch of ironstones and volcanics, which can make detecting hell if there are tons of them. A few here and there you can just kick them out of the way for the most part. On the newer GPX series, they have several "timing features" such as Sensitive/Smooth the GPX-4000, and "Special/Smooth & "Enhance" on the GPX-4500 to knock out a good portion of the ironstones and volcanics even if you're using a Mono coil. On mild to medium mineralization a Mono coil will normally get a bit more depth if you're playing close attention to signal responses. It will also be a bit more sensitivity to small gold and you can use the outer edge to pinpoint targets. When you start getting into tons of ironstones, volcanics or very mineralized ground conditions, a DD might beat out a mono due to the DD havingbetter mineral immunity on hot ground (less sensitivity vs. mono). Like Nuggetbob, I've always been a bit fan of Mono's when you can use them! Hope this helps, Rob Allison
