  1. Hey Uncle Ron, Congrats on the new little nugget guy! I spent the entire weekend conducting field instructions, but during that time I did manage to score 4-5 gold nuggets. I can't even remember how many I found now. I think I need to revisit the nugget container for a count! Hope your success continues out there. Rob Allison
  2. Hey Sfrerjo, Thanks for joining the forums and purchasing a metal detector from Rob's Detector Sales. The UPS truck will be heading your way tomorrow morning. You might have some questions on how the Coiltek Pocket Rocket system works, or the order on how to turn it on, so give me a call once the unit arrives and you assemble it. Just a matter of time until you hit some gold nuggets! P.S. I wouldn't toss the drywashwer, it could be a good tool to use after you locate some decent placer gold locations with a metal detector. Some places that have gold nuggets might have several ounces of smaller gold that a drywasher can recover, but not with even a good metal detector (gold too small and fine). Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  3. Hello All, Just wanted to update you all on the new Minelab prices for 2009. Most already know about the Minelab SD2100v2's dropping down from $1,998.97 to $1,199.95. This is a smoking deal, but here are some others that might catch your attention. Minelab SD2100v2 - Now $1,199.95 MSP Minelab SD2200v2 - Now $1,798.95 MSP Minelab GPX-4000 - Now $3,798.95 MSP If you purchase one of these metal detectors from Rob's Detector Sales, I will include FREE UPS Ground Shipping with Full Insurance ($50-$75 value) along with a FREE Extended Warranty while supplies last. For the price it would be very hard for me to pass on these Minelab prices if I was searching for my first Pulse Induction Metal Detector, or even a backup unit. There is so much you can do to the Minelab SD series to increase the performance more than stock. Questions, you can contact us at 623-362-1459 or email us at - auplacers@yahoo.com Take care, Rob Allison

  5. Hey Nuggetslayer, Ya, Doug Stone is swinging pretty fast, but he knows what he is listening for. Doug has been prospecting for a long time and runs some very successful Australia Gold Tours that find some great gold in the Outback. Funny, I haven't seen that video in many ... many years. Thanks for posting it. Rob Allison
  6. Hey Hendo, You're very welcome. Thanks for the business, Dawn and I appreciate it! If you have any questions about that unit, don't hesitate to post on the forum, email us or call anytime. Wishing you the best out there, Rob Allison
  7. Hey Digger, I think the TDI is also a great starter PI. Like all PI's they have pro's & con's. I've always been a Minelab guy since they came out. It's hard for me to use anything besides a Minelab since I know what they can do. Not knocking the White's, but it would be like going backwards if I used one over the GPX-4500. The GPX series will kill the TDI on small gold at depth. However, we are comparing a $5,000 unit to a $2,000 one. Have you had any complaints about the battery life on the TDI? Two guys that purchased them stated they were not getting even close to the battery life that was stated. I do like the fact you don't have a powercord hanging behind you. Take care, Rob Allison
  8. Hey Bob, The lead acid batteries normally always have a charge on them. They don't last long the shelf if they don't have some charge. The only way to check them is to place a volt meter on it and see what it says. A fully charged 6v lead acid can read as high as 6.8 - 7+ volts before you turn it on. Make sure you're careful using the AC wall charger. This charge is not a smart charger and will damage your stock battery if you charge too long. What is too long on this charger .... good question!!! The only real way is to check it with a meter every so often. Suggestion - Toss the wall charger in the closet and do down to Radio Shack and purchase a AC/DC Convertor that has a cigarette plug in on it. You can now use your Minelab smart 12v car charger with the AC/DC Convertor in the house and don't have to worry about burning up the battery. This is what I one with the SD and GP's. The 12v car charger won't over charge the battery and will flash when its full charged. No DVD for the SD2100v2. Minelab makes a VHS tape titled "SD series" or a VHS tape for the SD220d. Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison
  9. Hey Brian, If you can send me a PM through the forums I will give you his email address so you can contact him. I know he is selling it for sure as he just purchased a GPX-4500 for nuggethunting. Where we hunt the TDI really struggled with mineralization (strange for a PI). Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  10. Hey Bob, I have some old style Coiltek stickers, but I'm out of the Minelab ones I had. Coiltek has a new Logo now, which is just the name "Coiltek." Maybe Trev can send me over some stickers or decals so I can give away to customers. I do have Coiltek and Minelab Baseball caps. Take care, Rob Allison
  11. Hey Earl, Do they have metal in them? I've seen people wearing them, just didn't know if they were "No-Metal" boots. P.S. How's the nuggethunting been up there? Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  12. Hello Alan, Typical of the Electricians to clean up after a Lineman mess .... We do it all the time! Interesting pictures to say the least. Thanks for sharing. Rob Allison
  13. Hello Bob, Whatsforsupper gave some great suggestions and tips. The Bradshaw Mountain Range is very large. The Southern end is towards Lake Pleasant and runs all the North to Prescott. The East end is like Black Canyon City and all the way West to Kirkland Junction. Hundreds of miles of country, some easy to access, while other parts require hiking or horseback. The Bradshaw Mountains are riddled with Gold, Silver and Copper mines throught the entire range. Many clubs have claims throughout the Bradshaw's such as the GPAA, Roadrunner's Prospecting Club, Arizona Propectors Assoc. (APA) & WSPA. As for the Round Coiltek Goldstalkers, the 18-inch round will get more depth over the 16-inch round. Basically the bigger round will get more coverage per swing and better depth on larger gold nuggets. The 16-inch will be a bit more sensitive to smaller gold and get slightly less depth than the 18-inch. Both are great coils, but for the Bradshaw's I would suggest the 14-inch Goldstalker Elliptical since there are hundreds of small drainages. If the areas are a bit more open and you're looking for potentially bigger gold at depth, I would suggest the Rounds. Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison
  14. Hey Prairie Dog, Sounds good. Shoot me over a PM with all the accessories you need for the detector also. I sold four more SD's today. This is a mind-blowing price if you ask me. Take care, Rob Allison
  15. Hey Scott, If you're looking for a used White's TDI, I have a friend selling one. He just purchased a GPX-4500 and is letting the White's go. He wasn't happy with the performance here in Arizona with it. If you were asking me, I think the SD2100 is a much better nuggethunter, especially if you add some aftermarket accessories. Take care, Rob Allison
  16. Hey Sawmill, It don't have anything to do with selling equipment. I don't have to sell equipment for a living, one reason I'm a threat to others. I have a great job, wife has a great job and we both run the business cause we love it. If I didn't sell another piece of equipment it wouldn't effect us one bit. The "you sell equipment" deal has gotten real old. I do agree with some of your statement. However, most people don't have their claims properly staked, or even staked at all. If you're a claims owner and have all the signs, location monument, corner markers all properly marked, then you shouldn't have people wondering on your claims unless they are trying to highgrade. However, here in Arizona, (guessing) about 75% of the active claims are not marked at all. Tons of paper stakers in the West! Take care, Rob Allison
  17. Hey Guys, One already is gone from a customer that called from Nevada. I doubt at this price they will last long. The SD2100 has always been a big hit since there is so much you can do to them to increase the performance even more than stock. Nathan - Too bad this deal wasn't available when you purchased your Minelab. For a couple more hundred you could of owned a PI. If you know anyone looking, I have a GP Extreme in great condition for sale. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  18. Hey DigDeep, I choose the (2) one ounce gold nuggets. They are much harder to find, so I would prefer to have them. If I was after the money, you might be able to get more cash for three ounce of gold nuggets if you were not selling the big nuggets for over spot price. Be interesting to see what others have to say. Rob Allison
  19. Hello All, Just wanted to let anyone out there know that Minelab is dropping the price on the Minelab SD2100v2 to $1,199.00. This is an unbelieveable price if you're looking for a Minelab PI metal detector. Once these units are gone .... dealers won't be able to get them again. Your Price $1,199.00 Limited Stock Only I have several in stock at this price, but don't expect to have them more than a few days at most. Call today and order you a Minelab SD2100v2 Metal Detector and I will toss in FREE UPS Ground Shipping and a Extended Warranty! Rob's Detector Sales, Minelab's Top 20 in the US Dealers - (623) 362-1459 Rob Allison
  20. Hey Shadow, I really didn't even read the story, just took a glance at the picture. I know noticed where it says "Arizona Gazzette," which should be Phoenix Gazzette. The picture sure seemed fuzzy, so knew something seemed weird. If a snake was that big, the Snake Gaitors wouldn't even protect you. Take care, Rob Allison
  21. Hello All, A good friend sent this over to me a few days ago. Just goes to show you better be wearing your Snake Gaitors in case you encounter one of these huge Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes out prospecting. Sure seems like a true story, but damn that Rattlesnake is huge! Take care, Rob Allison
  22. Hey Bob & Steve, These coils are just amazing. I was one of the first guys in the US to be playing/testing them. I started out with the 18.5-inch elliptical and found all sizes of gold up to about 1/4 ounce. I found many small gold nuggets somewhat near the surface in the range of a couple of grains up to Dwt's. I then tested the 14-inch ellipticals and the rounds. They are all extremely lighweight, built very strong and don't false. I just had three customers come over today. I sold my second to last 6-inch round Goldstalker, a 16-inch Goldstalker round and a 14-inch elliptical along with a Minelab GPX. The word is out about these coils and I'm selling more and more of them. I just wish the guys from California that are clean house with them would post their finds. I've been trying to bug them, but I understand why. Take care, Rob Allison
  23. Hey Flak, I agree with you 100% about these guys being straight out Highgraders. On another note, I probably get 25 calls & emails per week about where to go. Many upcoming electronic prospectors are very Green and don't have really a clue where they should hunt or where to stay off of. They never seen claim markers, don't know how to research, don't understand how claims are laid out ... ect. These guys are the ones I'm talking about ... we all started there at one time and really was clueless. I'm trying to protect the newbies and the ones that really don't know any better and aren't out to ripe someone off. The repeat offenders are a different story! Hope you understand, Rob Allison
  24. Hey Lucky, No doubt you're kicking butt out there at that patch. Just goes to show there is still a lot of gold to be found by metal detectors. Being in the right locations is probably one of the biggest factors, but having experience and knowing your equipment helps a bunch also. Hey Nathan, you stated "Unbelieveable for one day." Like I always told you, being in the right spot. An ounce a day metal detecting is not common, but it happens a lot. I couldn't count how many ounce plus days I've had along with others I know. For example, lets say a virgin patch has 7 ounces of gold within detector range, and another 2 ounces below what a detector can find. The first day you zig zag through this location and pick up 1-2 ounces, which is very possible. You come back the next morning and really grid the spot out (depending on the size) and find another 1-2 ounces of gold. You continue to come back and crawl across this new patch and find anwhere from .25 - 1 ounces for the next couple of days. One of my best "old patches" I found was where some old guys were working with older detectors. I went into the spot and picked over 8-9 nuggets the first hour, all of them were 2-3 Dwt's in size. I knew I was in a good, old patch, so I went back down the hill and starting gridding very slowly. I probably had about an ounce, maybe a just under or over, but knew there was more to be found deeper. I probably hunted for about 30 minutes or so before I heard the first really faint target, which ended up being a 1.25 ouncer. I had to sit and admire the nugget for a bit, then started hunting again. Not within probably a few feet, I heard another faint one. This one was a beautiful 3/4 ouncer with just a tad of quartz on one side. At this point in time, only a few hours in an old patch I had 3+ ounces of nice solid nugget gold. There is much more to the story, but this patch produced about 40 ounces of gold out of an old patch. No telling what was originally found here near the surface. Take care, Rob Allison
