  1. Hello Colorado Bob, My best spots have never been reveiled. I have shown some patches, but some of the best ones I keep to myself. I need a few places to return to also. I've turned enough 24K members onto spots and they have found gold. I will continue to do so, but I would also like to find a nugget. Maybe I will see you out there Saturday if it don't rain. Take care, Rob Allison
  2. Hello Bob's, It was my understanding last year when I was talking with the owners of the Goodman Mine that all of Dan's claims were sold or under lease by someone. I know at one time he had most of the area under claim. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  3. Hello Iggy, You're very welcome! Glad you came out and joined the group. Now since you have your SD2100v2 you're going to have to come out again so I can show you some pointers on the unit. Make sure you run the Coiltek Pocket Rocket in the 7.3v setting to get max performance out of the detector. P.S. You left right before I found the nice nugget. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  4. Hello Silverstreak, The Walker Brother's out of Colorado own the claims up Farrar Gulch. The last I heard they pulled out due to the BLM pressure from the Indian Reservation. I haven't been up that way in awhile, so I could be wrong. I talked with the Brother's last year when they first were moving in heavy equipment. Back when the claims were under lease by Lost Coyote I spent some quality time detecting the area. Some nice nuggets were found, but the best of them are very deep. Take care, Rob Allison
  5. Hello Karl, I'm here at college right now getting ready to take my last final! Yes, I do have some pictures, but don't have my camera software on the new PC I just purchased. I will upload the pictures tomorrow. Talk with you all later, Rob Allison
  6. Hello Brother Russ, I know a few patches that are covered with Ironstones. That system might work well for getting them off the surface and removing a few inches. However, it is legal to just scratch and cherry pick nugget patches? Be interesting to see the system work in the field. However, seeing how John B. and you guys dug Greaterville to China and back, do you really need it? Take care, Rob Allison
  7. Hey 29, Happy Birthday you Old-Timer! Wishing you many ... many more. Wish for that Minelab detector before you blow out the Birthday Candles on the Birthday Cake! Take care, Rob Allison
  8. Hey Terry, I think we all had a great time. The next trip will probably be out towards the Bradshaw's. I have to contact Joe, another GPX-4000 customer and take him out this coming weekend. Joe, if you're out there I'm going to call you! Terry, thanks once again for the business. If you have any questions in the meantime don't hesitate to call, email me or post the question(s) here on the forum. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  9. Hello Uncle Ron, The nugget was found down lower. I want to get back and work the area before all the locals pound the area to death. There is no character to the nugget. Leaverite called it the "Big Turd Nugget!" Just that typical solid slug type gold that is commonly found on and around Rich Hill. Kind of hoping you would stop up, but understand you don't want to climb around if you knee is messed up. Larry, the 24K carekeeper took a nasty fall recently and knocked himself out for like 30 minutes. You really have to be careful up there by yourself. One bad fall and you could lay up there for days without help. I will get a picture up tonight or tomorrow. Don't have my camera software uploaded on the new PC yet. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  10. Hello Guys, Just wanted to let you know it was great hunting with you. Iggy - You left before you got to see my last minute nugget. The nugget was just over 1/3 ounce. When you get the SD lets get back out there and I will show you some tips. Great meeting you in person. Oh, never heard about the Vet Rate? Terry - Great meeting you in person. Thanks for choosing me for the detector purchase. Lets get out there again so we can get you onto your 2nd, 3rd .... nugget! Bunk - You have to hunt on those cold days. Great to finally meet you in person. Lets get another hunt going in the near future. Take care, Rob Allison
  11. Hello Uncle Ron, The nugget you're talking about ended up being only 1/2 Dwt, but nice since it was found with an older brand detector. Good to hear Steve and Kitty found some nuggets. Today I was out there with Terry, CJ, Leaverite, Bunk and Iggy. We all had a great time. Iggy didn't have his SD yet, but found some targets with his other VLF detector. Terry got his first GPX-4000 nugget today during field instructions. Leaverite found a nice Dwt piece in push 2. CJ wondered all over the place, but didn't get over a nugget. Bunk showed up late and decided it was too cold to detect. I decided to pop a nice 8 Dwt while everyone was just BSing. Very few people out there today on the claims. Take care, Rob Allison
  12. Hello Steve, Was out there today with a new GPX-4000 customer and several other friends. Terry, the new detector owner got his first GPX nugget today! Leaverite found a nice Dwt piece in one of the pushes and I found a really nice solid 8 Dwt at the end of the day. Had a great time with friends. The weather was beautiful today, just a slight bit chilly though. Take care, Rob Allison
  13. Hello Steve, Its amazing how that gold keeps a person up and running. I haven't been skunked yet with the GPX-4000, but plan to spend more time tomorrow with customers and training. I might be able to get some time behind my own detector, maybe even a nugget. We have to work on getting you over a nugget or two. Let me know if you need any tips or suggestions on the GP3500 that you purchased. You know I'm just a phone call away. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  14. Hello Iggy, I will show you my personal setup tomorrow morning. You will also get to see what some of my friends are packing around. I will also show you the heat I pack under .... well, it's similar to your Alaska gun. Take care, Rob Allison'
  15. Hello Uncle Ron, I wasn't able to make it out there today (Saturday), but will be up there tomorrow. Leaverite mentioned today a couple of people were pounding on my old spots. You have to be careful up there by yourself, I've had a few close calls with those boulders. Will be out there tomorrow with a couple new GPX-4000 customers and some other friends. If you're in the area, stop over and hunt. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  16. Hello Steve, Glad to hear the GPX-4000 is working out well for you. I appreciate your business like always. I'm hoping to get back down around Yuma before the winter season ends. I have a few spots I haven't been back to, one is a patch I found years ago that no one knows about besides my girlfriend. Keep us updated on your adventures with the new Minelab detector. Take care, Rob Allison
  17. Hello Steve, Glad you like the Coiltek Pocket Rocket. I couldn't count how many I have sold, but they are awesome! I can't wait to get the new ones for the GPX-4000. How many nuggets were found out there today? Heading up tomorrow with a group of people to check the claims out. P.S. Thanks once again for the business and friendship. Wishing you a nice nugget for Decmember. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  18. Hello Dredgebug, Like Flak stated, you will know when you're around interference by the "Wobble." This will get louder the closer you get to another Minelab PI, or the closer they get to you. It's best to use the Manual Tune knob on the GP3500. For Airplanes and most EM Interference you can turn the Manual Tune about 1/4 - 1/2 turn one way or another. This normally will take care of it. For other PI's you might need to Auto Tune and then fine tune with the Manual Tune knob. Sometimes you can completely elliminate the interference, others times not. It does help if everyone around tunes. Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison
  19. Hello Goldmember, I have hundreds of pictures I can share. I hope to have more pictures on my website soon. Just limited on time lately. That's one heck of a ride you have there. How do the tires hold up out there? I've scratched my truck up so much in the goldfields I think I wore off the clear coat! Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  20. Hello StudMuffin, I know plenty of patches where something like that might work. However, some of them have rocks sticking out of the ground and I doubt the system would work well. That system might work great for going down a sandy wash, but not so well for a rocky area. P.S. Will that seat hold a big guy like Scotty or I? Scratch a few patches and let me test the GPX-4000 over them! Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  21. Hello John, Great question since I've tried just about everything over the years with the Minelab PI's. With the new Coiltek Pocket Rocket System you can place it just about anywhere! I prefer to have it attached to the side of the detector with the use of the "Coiltek Short Power Cord." You actually got this small cord with your recent purchase. You now have the option to carry the system in the backpack (using a normal cord), wear it on your belt (with the included pouch) or mount the system on the side of the detector. I've tried all of them, but prefer the side of the detector best. As for backpacks, I use the Camelbak Mule. I like bigger one because I can carry more gear, more food, more liquids and even a smaller coil if I want. Some of the stuff I carry in the "Mule" are: Backup Minelab Handle Back Power Cord Spare Battery (if using the Coiltek Li-Ion System) Coiltek Joey Mono Searchcoil (for pinpointing and working certain areas of interests) Leather Gloves Plenty of Water/Snacks (for longer trips or hikes) GPS Unit Leatherman Tool and other goodies .... Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison
  22. Hello Steve, I've been there and done that many times before. Hey, you never know, if you didn't give it a whirl it would have ate at you for a long time. When it doubt, or if you have a good hunch, always give it a shot. Most of the time it will lead to a "Skunk," but it could open up an entirely new area to prospect if you find something! On another note, how is the GPX-4000 working out for you? I can't say enough about mine. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  23. Hey Guys/Gals, Thanks for all the comments. Things are looking good. I continue to keep plugging away through the low and highs .... Luckily I'm surrounded with great friends like you all, which really makes a huge difference. Thanks for all the friendship, support and business, Warm regards, Rob Allison
  24. Hello Guys, AZNuggetBob - Heck, you give up on one and you will find another in no time flat. You have a nose for gold, no debating that!!! I'm good for those 2-3 nugget patches, but I'm hoping for another 300-400 one. I also have at least 20-30 in nature pictures that I haven't posted. Wish I had more free time to update my website and finds. Flak - Wish you could have seen one of my websites about 5 years ago. I had like 100+ pages of very informative information on electronic prospecting. I had a hard-drive take a dump and lost it all. I had some great nugget pictures that I will never be able to retrieve. Thanks for the comments. Iggy - You're welcome to join us anytime. I'm just so busy right now I'm not sure when I'm going to get out. When things slow down here in a week or so I will let you know and you can join us. I can show you some stuff that might speed up your luck of finding more gold nuggets. I will call you later today about the Coiltek Pocket Rocket. Did you get a hold of Chris about the NF coil? Arizona Guide - Most of the ones on the open bedrock are from the Bradshaw Mountain Range. I know that don't help much, but just about any wash in the Bradshaw Range could hold gold nuggets. It's all a numbers game, the more you're out there the better chance you have. Take care, Rob Allison
