  1. Hello John B., Actually there has been a 6th release and it called "How Robbery and the Coatrack score in your old nugget patches!" Any takers, I didn't think so, you're SCARED. If you don't leave gold behind, you have nothing to worry about. I'm working on the 7th release right now and it's titled, "How to get in and out of countries with your life, their treasures and all your gear and cash!" This might be something for you to read when you're bored. Take care, Rob Allison
  2. Hello keninla, Sorry to hear about your finger, but glad you got it taken care of. Never let anything go, you just never know what might happen. Here is a short story below that I just heard today at work. I work at a major Utility company in the valley and daily we deal with bad customers along with a lot of bad dogs! One of the service workers had to enter a customers yard and got bitten on the heal of the foot by a very small dog. The service person didn't think anything of it due to the size of the dog, just a small nip basically. About a week later the nip got infected (just like yours) and he was in the hospital for four days. There was talk he was going to possibly loose his foot over just a very minor dog bite. Due to the fact the service worker didn't report the injury, and didn't get the bit cleaned out, it got infected and he almost lost a foot over it! Be safe out there, Rob Allison
  3. Hahah... You sure can make people laugh John. Once my hot patches are all cleaned out I don't hear from the Studmuffin Twins anymore. Have detector, will travel to hot patches, any offers? Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  4. Hello Mike, Sorry I haven't had much time to respond. Thanks for joining up on the forums and also for the SD2100v2 purchase! I thought I seen a car parked off the main dirt road last weekend, was that you? I try to get out every weekend if possible, so one of these weekend you can ride along with me to get back in further. I have found some nice patches and washes right off the main Bumble Bee Road. If you ever have questions, feel free to email, call or post them here on the forums. Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  5. Hello Harry, On the GP3500 with the Coiltek Wallaby I will run "Sensitive/Normal" and in Fixed Ground Balance. I run the Signal dial about 3/4's. Sometimes I run the DD's in Mono mode or DD, just depends on the mineralization. The very small ones you have to pay attention. If you're looking for very small gold I prefer a smaller true mono such as the Coiltek Joey Mono or Minelab 8-inch Mono Round. The areas I've been hunting recently are mild mineralization and fairly shallow. Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  6. Hello Russ, John does have a bright side to him. It's like looking into a Solar Flare! So where have you and Scottie been hiding? Are you playing that "we're finding nugget(s), but not posting them game?" Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  7. Hello Leaverite, I figured it was 6-8 grains from the looks of it. I remember several years prior digging a nugget out like we did about the same size. It took me a good hour working it with just the pick. Its amazing how those nuggets work themselves so deep in the cracks. Do you think the nugget is iron stained because it was formed within an iron section of a vein or do you think the bedrock stained it? I have found some of the darker bedrock to stain the nuggets just like yours in the past. P.S. Did you ever go back and get the one you said you couldn't get out? Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  8. Hello Bob, Congrats on the new nugget finds! I haven't received the GPS coords yet, but I would expect you're going to send them anytime, correct? Hehe... Were they found in a wash or hillside? Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  9. Hello Gary, There might have been a section of Serpentinite bedrock, I actually didn't pay much attention. I know it took Leaverite and I a good 30 minutes, if not longer, to get that nugget out. Not real far up the wash there was a small prospect and I believe that might of been the source of the gold. As rich as Wolf Creek is, you would think there some nice feeders up there that have nugget gold. Sometimes you have to hunt dozens and dozens of washes before you hit one that has gold. Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  10. Hello Gary, I picked up two nugget last weekend poking around during field instructions. I found seven nuggets last Saturday and then two Sunday, but allowed the new customer to dig them up. All of them have been under a Dwt in size, so nothing to get real excited about. However, I just enjoy to get out and if I can get a small nugget I'm happy anymore! Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  11. Hello John, You sure did beat me in Nevada. That isn't saying much, I'm not as sharp as I was once when I was a young whipper-nugget-snapper! I thought we were onto something when you hit the 1/2 ounce on the hillside. I know I gave you some shit about the Oman trip. Sounds like you guys made a killing and lost it to the Crazy Doctor. He looked like a nut from the picture I seen awhile back. Too bad you guys did all the work and he made out like a bandit. You think you guys might have had some Lunar or Martian material? Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  12. Hello Gary, You been out swinging the detector anymore? Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  13. Hello Mike, As much as I try to get into coin/relic hunting, I just can't. I know some good locations and I know there might be some nice trinkets, but I'm too into nuggetshooting! I'm also waiting for the DD coil. I'm not real impressed with the stock coil for nuggetshooting. It might be a good coil for coin/relic hunting, but I'm not real impressed with it for nuggetshooting (just my opinion). Keep us updated on your findings. Rob Allison
  14. Hello Garimpo and All, I think I'm lost on this thread now. When I was keeping up we were on page 3 or 4. I guess I need to go back and read from the beginning. Rob Allison
  15. Hello Uncle Ron, I haven't even weighed them, but they are small nuggets. I doubt the biggest one would even go a Dwt. I might have a few Dwt's total with all the nuggets. The topo map would be _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ . (Fill in the Blanks) Too easy .... Take care, Rob Allison
  16. Hello John, I pretty much spend an hour or so awhile back watching them all. That would be a trip of a lifetime for me. If I can get away for 3-4 days it's something! I really enjoyed our 8-9 days Northern Nevada hunt. I will never forget hunts like that, especially when you let me jump on the beds like a kid. Hehehe .... I didn't really do that, did I? Before you got all your stuff taken, about how many pounds of meteorites did you guys have, or can you say? Sure looked like you guys were on a roll. Take care, Rob Allison
  17. Hello Flak, It's a great idea. One major reason, we always have new guys lurking the forums, some join some don't. Most of the more experienced people know most of the basic tips and tricks, but then again there are handfuls of new people just getting into this wonderful hobby. I always like to see other ideas and how others are setting up their equipment. Everyone develops their own style using pointers from what people showed them. If you have some ideas, please post them. Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  18. Hello Guys, Joe - The nugget wasn't very big, but it was down 2-3 inches in solid bedrock. There was a small crevice, but we had to expand the bedrock outwards a few inches to get down in the crevice. I never weighed the nugget since Leaverite owns it now. I would say it was only 6-8 grains! Just remember, the GP series will those little ones deep and I have a "Tweeked" detector. Yes, Wallaby DD Pro located the nugget. Mike C. & Flak - Thanks! 29Prospector - I was actually pretty burned out that day and then had field instructions the following day. I was just glad to find a total of 10 nugget within the last couple of days out. Take care, Rob Allison
  19. Hello Flak, That is a very valuable tip that Bob "Montana" Dansie wrote up. I actually just told my new GP3500 customer today about it. He had the searchcoil cable loosely wrapped around the lower and upper shaft. I mentioned Bob's post to him and said he either needed to use electrical tape and Velcro, or use Bob's more creative design. Any vibration or movement in the search coil cable can cause false signals. Take care, Rob Allison
  20. Hello All, Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter before I head off into the hills. Will be out today teaching a new customer how to use his GP3500 for at least a half-day. He's from back East and this was the only time he was able to make it before it got too hot! Maybe we both can find a few Easter nuggets. Wishing you all the best on Easter Day. Rob Allison
  21. Hello All, Today I had to work until 9am, but was able to get out for a short hunt. I met up with Leaverite after work and we headed into the Bradshaw Mountains to check a few spots out. The first location I never hunted before, but was always curious about. We spent a few hours there and I ended up scoring 3 small nuggets from the bedrock. Later in the day we drove the quads to a second location, which was a high and dry placer. This spot didn't pan out, but sure looked good. I'm still amazed this spot didn't produce a nugget or two. On the way out we hit a wash where I found 20-30 nuggets in the past. Within an hours time I scored 5 more nuggets. The last nugget was so deep in the solid bedrock I told Leaverite he could have it if he dug it out. I took some pictures of what the spot looked like before we started digging, and then after. Overall we scored 8 Bradshaw nuggets (seven for me, one for Leaverite)! Take a gander at the pictures below. Man, I'm tired and have more GP3500 field instructions tomorrow (Easter). Take care, Rob Allison
  22. Hello Gaine, Yes, the Jimmy Sierra 14-inch GoldMax gets better depth and is still extremly sensitive to small gold and specimens. I actually have another GM3 with a used Sierra GoldMax, but it's not for sale. However, I have no use for two of them just sitting. Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  23. Hello Gary, Crawling around Rich Hill can be frusterating and rewarding at times. I have done very well there over the years, but also spent days climbing all around the mountain with just trash to show for. The lure about Rich Hill is the fact you could find a multi-ounce piece at any time. The probability of a bigger piece there is much great than other locations. When it comes to the 24K claim status, I'm not sure who really owns the claims. Jerry Kate used to own them, but had them leased to several people over the years (Elly one of them) and that is how the clubs came about. Elly told me some time ago Jerry was very sick and wanted out of the claims. Whether Elly really owns them or just holds the lease, I'm uncertain. If anyone is interested they really need to check out the status. I've tried to email her several times with no response back. I keep hearing about all these huge nuggets being found on the claims, but I think it all promotional. You just have to keep an open mind on all this, expecially when the price of gold is touch $600/ounce. The are was very productive in the past, but it's been hammered, and re-hammered by some of the best nuggethunters in the Southwest. The Coiltek Joey is a deadly little coil. Small elliptical searchcoils are great for crevicing bedrock areas and also work excellent for probing in and around large boulders at Rich Hill. Good friend several years ago found a 2+ ounce with the Joey working around the large Granite rocks. Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  24. Hello 29Prospector, There is no doubt the big ones are still out there, it's just a matter of finding them. Maybe I need some dowsing rods on my GP3500. Take care, Rob Allison
