Admin nuggethunting Posted April 12, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted April 12, 2015 Hello All, Well it's been a stressful week for me, let alone it's been over 3 weeks since I last got out detecting. I have been looking forward to getting out Saturday, but I was so tired I couldn't get myself out of bed. I finally managed to force myself out the door around Noon. Luckily, it was a good thing I got out and done some detecting. I managed to relieve some stress and find 4 nuggets in a few hours of metal detecting an old patch. It's just amazing on the size of gold the GPZ is able to detect at depth. Keep in mind, I have hit this patch already with the SDC, so I have cherry picked the deeper, smaller gold for the most part out. I ended up finding about a dozen deep targets, 3 small nuggets and 1 nice one at 8.1 Dwts. This makes my overall total with the GPZ 7000 in 6 trips out a bit over 1.5 ounces of gold. The bugs were nasty yesterday and the grass is so thick due to the last good rains we had. Here are some pictures below.
nugget108
Very nice. It all fills the space in the poke.

DOC
Everytime I dig a little one it makes me get the giggles, because I just can not believe the ability of that machine to find such little stuff deep. I must sound like a lunatic out in the desert talking to myself and laughing, "Are you kidding me? That's insane! I can't beleive how little that is and how good it sounded." and on and on.I notice that when I am detecting I have a running dialogue with myself. I've always aspired to being old and eccentric. Looks like I've made it. :-)Doc
oldies1955
Yah! It was a good thing you got out especially after 3 weeks of no swinging? Nice nugs for sure Tom H.
Admin nuggethunting Posted April 13, 2015 Author Admin Report Share Posted April 13, 2015 Hey Guys, Ya, it was a much needed getaway into the hills. Always nice to walk home with almost a 1/2 ounce of nuggets. The big 8.1 Dwt was a nice surprise and down about 14-15 inches. It wasn't a faint, whisper, so figured it was a piece of rubbish down 3-4 inches. When I got down around 8 inches I wished I would have started the video. Oh well, there will be another hopefully soon .....Gubelube - Not sure a 8 Dwt is a "dink," if so I want to hunt where you go.

Ridge Runner
Just having that much power in ones hands would make me feel like Superman. This friend told me at a gun show that he remembered at one time he wanted this one gun and he wouldn't ever need another. Now he's got more than most gun shops.Well I'm the same way about detectors. If I had the 7000 I'd never want another detector again. Bull! The gold you found looks good Rob.Chuck Anders
Admin nuggethunting Posted April 13, 2015 Author Admin Report Share Posted April 13, 2015 Hey Tom, LOL ... You're right, I think he meant "finds" not "dinks!"
