  1. Hey Roo, I personally haven't used PulseMate. I'm been wanting to get with Bill Southern, one of the dealers for PulseMate, but haven't had time. I know Bill has been testing them for a few years and the new ones are much better. I can't say much, as I haven't personally used them. Sounds like the prices might be a bit lower on the PulseMate, which is always nice (if the performance, warranty and craftsmanship) is the same as Minelab, Coiltek or Nugetfinder. There are so many coils to use, and we can only use one at a time. Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  2. Hey Roo, Welcome to the forums. Great nugget you found there. Hope to see you posting more with stories and finds. Wishing you much luck, Rob Allison
  3. Hey Mike, That has always been an extremely popular searchcoil back in the day. I found my first big nugget with that coil back in the early 90's on a VLF Minelab. I used it American Gold Striker and XT series. Minelab at some point discontinued the coil and it was very difficult to find one. I found a few many years back in Australia. Coiltek has now released the 6-inch Goldseeker for the Eureka Gold, which does work in the 60khz setting. Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison
  4. Hey Guys, Being a dealer for any product, we are bound under an agreement to keep things confidential. If anyone thinks what they are seeing is the next "Flagship Generation" with Minelab, I would have to say they are probably wrong. I'm sure Minelab has considered a mid-line metal detector for some time, so lets see what happens, if anything. I hated that they discontinued the SD series as it was a great PI for the price. I know after so many years, it becomes much harder to support a product and get the parts (normally in the range of 7-10 years). Just my thoughts as of now. Rob Allison
  5. Hello Chuck, I also have to ask how do you have a copy of the Jan. 2014 issue as Lost Treasure just contacted me about a week ago on running a ad for that issue? Are you sure it was the Jan. 2014 and not like Nov. - Dec. 2013 issue? Just asking why a magazine would release January's issue almost 2 months prior to that date .... maybe that is how they do it. Rob Allison
  6. Heheh .... Funny reading all gossip and rumors .... I wouldn't think Minelab would run a ad for a Mine Detector in the Lost Treasure, but I could be wrong. I would like to see the ad if you have a copy. Rob Allison
  7. Hey Chuck, Are you talking about some Military metal detector that they have out? I'm guessing they will have some type of mid-range PI coming out at some point, but don't know any dates. I would like to see the ad in the Lost Treasure showing this? Does it say it's for gold prospecting, or some type of mid-range military unit for detecting mines? Scan and post that ad if you can. Thanks, Rob Allison
  8. Hey Dave, Great find. I embedded the Youtube video so members can view right on the forums. Thanks for sharing!! Rob Allison

  12. Hello All, I find the the Bible the greatest book ever written. That being said, I know some movies are not 100% accurate, but I'm glad to see a movie like this coming out. The story of Noah is awesome! Hope you enjoy. Rob Allison
  13. Hello Gravelwasher, I think when he said "blanked" he was referring to overloaded - blanking signal, not so much blanking like iron disc. Hopefully he can clarify. You are correct, you can't discriminate using a Monoloop searchcoil, regardless what others might say. Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  14. Hey Houghy, Great finds!! Yes, would love to hear about your new techniques or any findings you would be willing to share with us here on the forums. Is the gold from the US or some other country? Would love to hear more about detector and searchcoil used, general area you're hunting and the story on the finds. Hope you continue to find more. Rob Allison
  15. Hey fi4451, Over the years, most of the larger nuggets I found sounded like trash. One reason is the nuggets were non-typical nuggets shapes, long, twisted or some type of strange shape. They also gave a blanking or common trash sounding signal, which most would assume is just iron rubbish. As much as I hate to dig them, I try to dig all targets when I can. Great find and thanks for sharing it on the forums here. I also enjoyed the picture of the dog, man's best friend! Wishing you many more large nuggets. Rob Allison
  16. Hey Steve, I think Garrett has a good thing going here. The fact the unit is compact, comes with 3 coils right out of the gate and the price is right! I got confirmation my Garrett's are coming very soon. I have both the Garrett ATX Basic and Deepseeker packages on the way. Looking forward to giving it a run in the goldfields and some new prospects off the beaten path. Thanks for all the information you have shared to date. Rob Allison

  18. Hey Goldstudmuffin, I thought that was the Infinium .... LOL I just remember many years ago in the bottom of that wash.
  19. Hey Frank, Still haven't heard back from Trev, but should sometime today.
  20. Hey Frank, The last diagram I seen, I believe that is correct. I can verify with Trev @ Coiltek for you and get back with you tomorrow. Trev is pretty quick with responses. I believe most DD's would be wound the same, but I could be wrong.
  21. Hello Auduke, I think Minelab is seriously looking into this. Hopefully we might see something like this in the next model or two. Rob Allison
  22. Hey Steve, I agree, I drag several VLF's out in the field for weekend trips, but 99.9% of the time I don't even pull them out. I'm using the Minelab GPX 5000. Speaking of using the Fisher Gold Bug Pro, I have a few areas in mind, where I haven't really put in the effort, but believe these spots hold a chance at a big nugget among the rubbish. Do you have any suggestions as for testing or even hunting these areas, such as how to really ID a big gold nugget vs. iron rubbish? I have been playing around with the GB Pro on large and small iron garbage and decent sized nuggets trying to figure out what I should really be paying attention to rather that just audio. Both sound the same for the most part, but trying to really figure out the meter and what to really pay attention to and how high I should be over the target to make the meter respond somewhat correctly. Any advice would be appreciated. I know there is no easy answer to this though. Rob Allison
  23. Hey Guys, I have a few things on Ebay, just trying to get back in the game. That being said, Ebay hasn't been a very good avenue so far. Sales have been extremely slow and even had one guy back out of a deal and didn't pay. Then I realized Paypal don't pay you for up to 21 days after the bid ends. I had a product shipped the next day, but didn't get paid until the 14th day. Not sure I like that part of it. Any suggestions of help would be appreciated it. Like I said, it's just another spot to try, but as of right not my thoughts are "everyone and their Brother are selling there, so I shouldn't expect much." Rob Allison
  24. Hey Hurthawk, Great video. Keep them coming. Rob Allison
