  1. Hello All, Last weekend I ran across 5 rattlesnakes prospecting and exploring. However, this was my favorite one. Watch out, they are out in full force now ..... This is the time of the year we sell dozens of Snake Gaitors, which I highly recommend during the Summer months. Rob Allison
  2. Hello All, I've already got people asking about this smoking deal, but they said there was no price listed ...... The price is still $5795.00 (normal MAP Price), but you get $1700 worth of coils and accessories included for free. Field instructions don't have to be taken at time of purchase either, you can schedule them months later, like when it cools off.
  3. Hey Buckeye Boy, Congrats to both you and your Brother. Wishing you much success in the new area. Hopefully you both turn up a bunch of gold. P.S. I should have the NF coil tomorrow. Keep us posted. Rob Allison

  5. Hey Tom, I was out with Doc and Dennis this weekend. Three days of pure prospecting and exploring new country. This ended up with 3 days, 3 guys and 3 skunks! Well, a bunch of places are now off my list, knowing they looked good, but didn't produce. What's that old saying, "Shit Happens ...." We also ran into about 5 rattlers this weekend. Most seemed to be out just after the Sun dropped down. Rob Allison
  6. Hey Yukon, You have two points, prospectors/miners being honest about what they find and then the liability factor. I personally own a bunch of claims, so know a bit about both. For the most part, I like to believe all prospectors/miners are just looking for places to work and would be honest about what they found on some type of terms (hopefully discussed prior to prospecting). That would mean terms on find whatever you keep, but show to owner(s), or what you find is on some type of percentage split (such as 10, 15 or whatever %). Secondly, the liability is a huge factor. For the most part, if someone would happen to get hurt on your claims, then for the most part the owner(s) could be at fault. This could mean paying for medical expenses or even a lawsuit. Lastly, this could also mean the owner(s) could loose permits and a OSHA investigation could take place shutting down the mine or claim. I like to think all prospectors/miners are honest and if they got injured they wouldn't try to file a lawsuit since the owners would good enough to give them permission. However, this is easy to say ..... Just my thoughts quickly.
  7. Hey Cowkiller, Very nice gold. I told your Brother the coils are on backorder for a bit, so you will have some time to hit all his patches!! Thanks for the business, hope you score many more. Rob Allison
  8. Hey Tom, Agree, without a doubt they are a good tool to have in places. I just wanted to point out what I have seen, but you're past experience knows best when it comes to riding dirt bikes. I just didn't want to see you get hurt. I think my friend's bike was like a 250, had plenty of power, but limited carry space for the detector, gear and water during the hotter months. For short, morning trips it might be a great addition. Wishing you much success.
  9. Hello All, A few coils have sold. Call if you have any questions. I have some others I will be adding.
  10. Hey Tom, They are great, but not the best for running up sandy washes. My friend has the same idea years ago, thinking he could access areas we couldn't on quads. Every trip up and down washes he crashed!! After the last crash and about crushing his metal detector, he decided maybe a quad was better and more stable. I think there are advantages to a dirtbike, but they are limited as far as carry space and don't do well in real sandy washes at slower speeds from what I seen. Hope they work out well for you.
  11. Hey Uncle Ron, I didn't realize that Red Racers ate Rattlesnakes. Great real-time picture! Thanks for sharing. Rob Allison
  12. Hey Guys, Thanks for the comments. I was on the nuggets that day, but my head just isn't in it. I get out there and try to relax and worry about everything else besides chasing gold. Just too much going on, maybe I should just go back to looking for gold. I now have several patches, one virgin and several older ones that have produced multiple nuggets I need to revisit.
  13. Hey Tom's x 2, Where are the nuggets? Come on .....
  14. Hey Guys, A general rule of thumb I have always been told about Li-Ion Battery care is never leave them sit around long without a full charge & never run them all the way dead. I know some believe differently, but I have gotten up to 2-3 years out of some of the Li-Ion's by doing this. I still have a 5400mah battery from like 5 years ago that I rotate through my cycle of about 4-5 batteries. I'm not sure why this one still is around and lasting. The new charger seems to make a huge difference. If you have the flat, gray li-ion charger, that don't hold the batteries ...... Well I tossed those in the trash the minute this new one came out. I think the Chinese made those for about $2 in China and they sell in the US for like $35-45. I would also wait all night for the batteries to charge on this charger. The new charger charges my dead batteries within 2-3 hours. Hope this helps.
  15. Hello All, Been away from detecting for a bit, so figured I needed to get back out there and give it another go. I decided to hit some older spots, figuring I could snag at least a dink at one of these spots. The first location was a old bench with a bunch of exposed bedrock. This spot had some nice, slug nuggets at one time, most of the easy stuff has been picked clean. Within about 15 minutes hunting here I snagged a nice Dwt piece and several small bits of iron rubbish. I hunted this spot for about an hour total with only the one nugget and 3-4 bit of iron. I mananged to work my way up to another patch below some quartz veins. I snagged a small, rough piece the moment I turned on the detector. Within an hour I had three, small nuggets from this spot and decided to call it a day. Nothing real impressive, but enough to get my "gold fix" for the week. I'm actually thinking about coming back here and working these small patches for the day to see what I might be able to pick up. I was using my trusty Minelab GPX 5000 and NF 14-inch solid elliptical Mono. Take care, Rob Allison
  16. Hey Doug, Yes, we have the new chargers on our online store that can be purchased seperately. I like them much better than the prior 2-3 versions. This new charger shows the percentage of charge and also beeps when it's fully charged. Using the new charger I'm able to get more life from even my older 7800mah batteries that I still have from several years ago. Thanks for the update Doc!! Rob Allison
  17. Hey Doug, Sorry I didn't see this post earlier. I'm not sure about giving life back to a dead battery, as most of the time it's a bad cell and the battery has to be replaced (no difference on a car battery). I'm sure if you wanted to tear it all apart, find the seperate batteries, you might be able to make the repair. That being said, you might have more than $45 invested in time and effort trying to make a repair that might not even work. The new 7000mah batteries seem to last longer than the older 7800's. I'm using one of the new digital chargers for them, so I have heard from Doc this is a huge help. We well the new 7000mah batteries and new chargers if you decided at some point to replace anything. It's hard to get away from the Pocket Rocket or Goldscreamer Power Pack. It's nice not having a power cord attached and the fact you can just drop the detector without unhooking everything. Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison
  18. Hey Guys, Thanks to a few great friends, I believe we have narrowed down the problem. It might take 24-48 hours to resolve, but hopefully the forum will be running at full speed once again. Hope to see you all posting in the near future. Rob Allison
  19. Hey Digger, Congrats on the new finds. I would say by looking at the character of the gold, you're not real far from the source if it still exsists. I would continue digging in the direction you believe the gold might be coming from. Wishing you much more success. Thanks for sharing! Rob Allison

  21. Hey Guys, Thanks for the responses. Sounds like other are experiencing the same slow loading, which is what I needed to hear. I'm still working on the problem, hoping to have it resolved soon. The forum should be working just fine, just a bit slower than normal for the time being. Rob Allison
  22. Hey Jeff, It's great that Santa brought you a GPX detector. Who did you get it from? Pinpointing with Mono's are much easier than DD's for the most part, but rounds are more difficult than ellipticals in my opinion. On a monoloop coil, anything on the outside edge of the coil is hot, or able to detect small pieces of gold or trash. There is also a "hot spot," which is normally on the top left of most coils. This small spot seems to be a bit more sensitive than other areas on the outside edge. There a bit more to pinpointing than just running the coil over a target, but pinpointing is effected my depth and the size of the target. If the target is small or large, but at max depth level, using the side of the coil don't work well. Tilting the coil to a 45-90 degree angle helps greatly when the target is near or out of the hole. It's best to get a general idea on where the target is, normally by pinpointing in one or two directions. Then dig down slowly depending on how loud and then start using the side of the coil for much more accurate pinpointing. Many don't use a Pinpointer probe due to the fact you can get good at pinpointing and spend more timing playing around with a probe. I do use a probe if I believe the target is a good size nugget and I don't want to damage it. Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison
  23. Hello All, Lately the forum has been running slow, at least to me. Has anyone else noticed this? The last couple of forum crashes were from the hosting service disabling my forums for using too many resources and bogging down their server. I have disabled some features on the forums for the time being, hoping to have this resolved soon. There shouldn't be any probem with posting, reading or view pictures. If so, please let me know. Thanks for your understanding. Hope you're all out finding a bunch of gold! Rob Allison
