  1. Hello Goldstone, Minelab tries to keep a level of detectors that anyone can afford. We all can't afford a GPX-4500 and it might be too much for some people's needs. Minelab has always had a VLF detector under $1,000, then the SD series that ranged from $1,500 - $2,000 and then the high end detector that would range from $3,500 - $4,500. They want to keep that mid-level PI detector around to keep that market. The SD series have always been popular cause of their price and performance. If the SD2200v2 becomes completely discontinued like the SD2100v2 awhile back, then I'm sure they will make something new to replace it. Just my thoughts .... Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  2. Hello All, I finally was contacted by Google and they have released my website and forums. They also reconsidered my sites again, so they will be back in the same search engine status as before. I noticed up entire last night I was still getting the "red warning sign" when I went to my site from Google or some other search engines. Google recommends that all customers and forum users to delete their old cookies to make sure you're still not getting the message. If you still are, please email me or post here if you can. Thanks in advance! Rob Allison
  3. Hey Guys, It might take a few days to get everything cleared up. I have to run a series of Malware programs to make sure all the crap is off. My ISP cleared everything on their end, just making sure everything is cleared on my end before I tell Google to release my domain back to the engines. In the meantime, it seems like most are still able to access the forums and such. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  4. Hey Guys, All the spam posts should be deleted along with the users that placed them there. If you see something that is still on here, please let me know. Thanks, Rob Allison
  5. Hello All, Had some minor issues with the website and forums. They should be resolved. If you're still experiencing problems, please let me know ASAP. Thanks, Rob Allison
  6. Hello Uncle Ron, Congrats on the new find! There is a lot of potential I think in that area. Found a couple smaller patches last year. Haven't been out exploring once this year, just been working, running the business and taking care of the little one. Hope to see some nice finds from that area this year. P.S. Don't chase Bob, have Bob chase you .... LOL Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  7. Hey Doug, Sent you back over an email. Sometimes that is what it requires to find those new nugget patches. Some might be right off the main road, but for the most part you have to beat the brush for the overlooked ones. Wishing you much luck, Rob Allison
  8. Hey Tom, That is correct, sample, sample and re-sample! If water was not available, the old-timers would dry pan or drywash the material. They might even bring water in if the water source wasn't too far away. They might even take the material to a water source. This is one reason thousands of dry placers are still good places to search for gold. The climate was arid and water was too far away to make it economic to work. Metal detectors and drywasher/vac-pacs can make good finds in many old dry-placers. Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison
  9. Hey AZNuggetBob, What about me as a dealer? LOL .... Hey was out "there" this last weekend. Give me a call. Some drama and gold. Hope you're feeling better. Rob Allison
  10. Hello Doug, I would never steer a customer wrong on what a Minelab GPX-4500 and a Coiltek Goldstalker coil can do. Yes, the gold has to be there, but performance wise this combo is hard to beat! This is one reason I'm including a FREE Coiltek Goldstalker coil of your choice with the purchase of a Minelab GPX-4500. Will be nice to finally meet you in person on our field instruction day. Until then, keep knocking out those nuggets! Take care, Rob Allison
  11. Hey Gary, Great looking picture. You mean you served in the armed forces? P.S. Sounds like Minelab has a call slip out for your GPX-4000. Talk with you later champ, Rob Allison
  12. Hello Karl, Welcome to the forums. You will find some great people here along with a wealth of information pertaining to metal detecting and prospecting. Are you mainly drywashing around Pahrump, or are you nuggetshooting also? A good partner of mine, now passed on, found some nice nugget patches around Pahrump, NV. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  13. Hey Doug, CONGRATS!!! I had a good feeling you would find something out there. Wishing you many more, Rob Allison
  14. Hello Robbor, Sounds like you have the general idea of what you need. I would suggest, a good wide end prospecting pick, neo-dym super magnet and a plastic nugget/treasure scoop. I have all these items and you could probably get them all with shipping for under a $100 from me. Good prospecting picks run from about $50 - $80 depending on the size and shape. I would also recommend a hammer type holder for your pick. Give me a call anytime if you want to chat about gold or accessories. You can probably get by with what you have for starting out. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  15. Hey Greg, Thanks! I was hoping the package would work well for the book. Kind of figured the double, bubble wrap should protect it well. Hope you enjoy the new reading material. For anyone else, I have more on the way if you're interested. A bunch of good reads and plenty of nice colored pictures. Take care, Rob Allison
  16. Hello GoldStone, DigDeep done a pretty good job explaining both coils. The 16-inch is a bit lighter (not much) and will find maybe a bit smaller gold. The 18-inch Round is slightly heavier and will shoot a bit deeper in the ground, especially on bigger gold nuggets. The new 6-inch Round "Gold Sniper" coil is the most sensitive coil you will find. It's more sensitive than the Joey, I've done some testing. However, they are both great coils, but the like DigDeep stated the Goldstalker's are more immune to EMI Interference. Give me a call one of these evenings at 623-362-1459 and we can chat about it more. It's a great special and from what I know it will end this month. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  17. Hey Bob, It's nice when gold is $1,000 + per ounce. It makes it much more rewarding when you're out there finding 2-5 Grams per day. I'm just glad I kept a bunch of my gold that I found about 15 years ago when gold was around $300.00/ounce. Do you know anyone that is interested in buying a couple pounds of gold? Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  18. Hey Lucky, Congrats on the new nuggets! I'm going to get out this weekend and hopefully find some myself. The weather is getting really nice here in Arizona. Silver Dog - I think you're going to score some Cali gold for sure! Wishing you the best over there. Take care, Rob Allison
  19. Hey Guys, Have the books on the way from Doc. Give me a call ASAP if you want a copy. Not sure how many will be available right away. P.S. All the guys that have called and placed the order already, yours will go out the minute the batch arrrives. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  20. Hello All, I have a used Minelab GPX-4500 Metal Detector for sale if anyone is interested. This unit is used, but many of the stock items (lower shaft, upper shaft, hardware and such) are brand new. I'm asking $3,500 firm for this unit. Shipping is not included. Normal UPS Ground Shipping with Full Insurance is around $80.00 shipped within the US. I will only ship within the US. If you're interested, give me a call or email me right away. I already have a few local guys interested, but told them I was going to list it on the forums tonight. (623) 362-1459 Phone auplacers@yahoo.com - Email Take care, Rob Allison
  21. Hey H2O Prospector, I believe through the Month of October at least. Not sure how much longer beyond that it will run. It's a great deal, you get the most sensitive small coil, but it's also worth $210.00 if you purchased it outright. I will even include a Coiltek Baseball Cap with each other. I've already placed several orders earlier today. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  22. Hey Doc, Yep, that was one hell of a nugget that Ken P. found at Moore Creek. I think just about everyone that visited Moore Creek wondered through that area at least once. On another note, I was just looking at my pictures and came to the conclusion I've found over 500 nuggets so far with the Coiltek Goldstalker's! Give me a call if you're interested in this deal. Hope I have enough coils in stock .... Rob Allison

  25. Hello Donna, It sounds like you have checked all the things on your end. My first guess would be you're near some type of EM or in town using the metal detector. If that is not the case, I would say check all the connections to make sure they are tight and also try another coil. Sounds like you have done all this. Have you tried using the "Tuner" to see if somehow it might have gotten moved? Yes, Minelab does repair SD's still, and I would recommend you calling Minelab USA, Repair Dept. and talk with Bill. Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison
