  2. Hello Matt, Great looking gold nuggets! Sure wish I had a place like you have up there. Received your revised order through the PM. Will add the headphones to the order. Thanks for your friendship and business. P.S. Nice camera. Rob Allison
  3. Hello Slim, I bet you went down to the Green Door! Haven't heard a peep about the pushes. Was hoping someone would have some information. I only know of about 3-4 nuggets that came off the Desert Special claims. The first day of the push a nice 12 Dwter was found along with a couple of smaller ones. I know I hit the second push pretty hard along with a bunch of other guys and no one found a single nugget. What have you heard? Talk with you soon, Rob Allison
  4. Hello Jim, Ya, I got lucky last weeking picking up 1.25 ounces of nuggets. However, this week I got the skunk and Leaverite got the nice 3.5 Dwter. Sure wish you were down here. I think Ralph misses you also. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  5. Hello Lamar, Been a long time since we talked. I still have a pretty good order sitting here on the floor for you. The last time (a long time ago) we talked you mentioned you were going to give me your shipper's address here in the US. Glad to hear you're doing well and finding some nice gold! Stop being such a stranger. Mike C. - Some might differ on your "Best" statement. Yes, Lamar can be found here and Garimpo can be found on Bill's forum. Take care, Rob Allison
  6. Hello All, Well it was just a matter of time when we started prospecting that I was going to get skunked with the GPX-4000. I've managed to find at least one nugget per trip with the GPX-4000 for an entire year, but it finally ended yesterday (Saturday). I've found well over 100 nuggets, probably much closer to 200 with the GPX-4000 hunting an average of 1-2 days per week. Saturday Leaverite and I tromped around the hills looking for some new ground. We hunted a good hour or so and then Leaverite found a nice 3.5 Dwter in a new spot. The area looked very good, but after another hour or so we were unable to find another nugget. Seems like a lot of "one nugget" patches out there! We both found a good share of boot tacks, wire, nails and other iron rubbish. Congrats to my partner Leaverite for scoring. Thanks for leaving me the skunk. Take a gander of Leaverite's gold nugget and an old "Shoe" from a mill stamper below. Rob Allison
  7. Hello All, Sure nice that gold is over $800 per Troy Ounce for the guys that are finding enough of it. However, seems like the price of everything else is also going up. It takes me now $65-$70 to fill up my gas tank. A normal prospecting day cost me probably $75 if you include gas, food, wear and & on the your vehicle. I liked gold when it was $300 per ounce! Rob Allison

  10. Hello Bob, I agree with you that the drywashers are distracting. However, as much as I tried Elly was against the idea and said the club wasn't just for detectorist, but any methods of prospecting. Trust me, I tried to keep them out of the pushes, but it didn't work. From what I've seen and heard, most of the drywashers are finding very little color anyways, so I don't think many of them will continue. I think the drywashers would have more luck working the push piles and small gullies on the hill rather than the pushes. Talk with you later, Rob Allison

  12. Hello Guys, Karl - Was wondering what happened to you. Many were asking if you left. Sorry to hear about your best friend. I've been there and done that with several dogs. Heard you found another nice nugget up at the spots I showed you, or higher up the hill. Did you get a picture of it? Reg - Sorry to hear you were having 4x4 problems. At least you didn't get stuck behind the van that tried to climb up the front side during the first day of the push. I heard there was a bunch of pissed off people that were anxious to get on the pushes, but were stuck behind the 2-wheel van for a bit ... Fla Mick - I figured someone left them behind since they were so shallow. There was only one (the 5.6 Dwter) that was at depth. It was just a faint whisper at the surface. Friend went back and checked the area out and we didn't miss any I guess. Hard to believe there isn't a few left in there. Take care, Rob Allison
  13. Hello Capt. Grumpy, Looks like a good rugged boot for prospecting. I've seen a few guys wearing them, but haven't heard how they fit. I'm still wearing the waterproof Bates boots with the agressive traction on the bottom. Let me know how you like them. I doubt they have my size in stock. Take care, Rob Allison

  16. Hello Bob, Talked with Doc a few days ago and he mentioned something like 30 days. Not sure who he went with, but he did mentioned they were pretty slick picks! Maybe Doc will enlighten us a bit more on the details? Rob Allison
  17. Hello Bunk, We are using what the manufacture say's the size is. Anything that is under 12-inches would be considered an 11-inch coil and could be used. Here is a list of coils that can be used on the Minelab PI's - Minelab 8-inch Round Minelab 11-inch Round Coiltek 10x5 Elliptical Coiltek 11-inch Round Coiltek Platypus 11-inch Elliptical Nuggetfinder 10x5 Elliptical Nuggetfinder 10-inch Round There has been a few that "think" they can pull off a bigger coil, but security is now aware of the sizes and how to ID them. Don't embarsh youself when you have to be escorted off the pushes by security in front of all the members! I made the 11-inch restriction so all VLF's and PI's would have the same chance to find nuggets near the surface on the pushes. Yes, the PI's with smaller coils will still go deeper, but anything somewhat near the surface can be heard by any detector. Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  18. Hello All, Just wanted to update all the 24 Karat Members out there. The Board meeting was held at the Arrowhead Bar and Restaurant last Thursday evening. All the board members were there including the entire claims security crew. Here is some of the stuff that was discussed at the Board Meeting - (1) All dogs, regardless of size, must be leashed on the claims. No dogs are allowed to roam free!!! (2) All members must use an 11-inch elliptical or round searchcoil on the first two days of the push (normally Saturday and Sunday). (3) There are no plans to re-push new areas at this time. Elly wants to try to get some type of small trommel to work some of the material before pushes are reclaimed. (4) Vehicles and Quads are not allowed to park in the pushes. There has been a handful of guys driving and parking on the pushes to drywash. All drywashers and detectorist must park outside the push area. Please make sure you don't block the main dirt road just in case of an emergency situation where immediate access is needed. (5) Badges or proof of membership must be worn, or at least have while on the claims. Elly is working hard on getting new badges out to members that don't have them now. For all the members that don't have membership badges, please make sure you have your membership payment confirmation or proof of membership with you. Claim Security is allowed to ask any member for proof. (6) Pushes on the west side, Desert Special Claims 1 & 2, will be pushed in early November. Elly is not pushing all the claims each month, which was the understanding by many including myself. Each month the pushes will rotate from the Desert Special Claims to the Devil's Nest Claims. (November will be Desert Special Claims, 2 pushes. December will be Devil's Nest Claims, 5 pushes). A special Thanks to Elly for the wonderful baby back rib dinner! Questions or comments you can contact Elly or any Board Member. Thanks, Rob Allison
  19. Hello Bunk, Congrats on another nugget find! You sure have the hang of the new GPX-4000. Great to hear you're finding nuggets each trip out. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  20. Hello Guys, Thanks for the comments. Leaverite and I just got lucky to hit a mini-patch in an odd-ball area. The area didn't look really hot, but nuggets have been found in the area before, so that was the reason for the trip back. Jim P. - If you notice on the flat slug nugget (first one on the right side of the coil), that one was wedged down in a larger crevice with plant roots. The stuff on the side of the nugget is in fact root material. Great observation! Matt - Yep, still keeping the skunk away since I've owned the GPX-4000. I thought Saturday was going to end the streak since we were doing a bit of prospecting. Just got lucky to keep the streak going, it's going to end soon since we will be doing a lot of prospecting. Take care, Rob Allison
  21. Hello Uncle Ron, I know exactly what you're talking about. Several years ago Glenn and I were prospecting when we both started picking up iron fragments. I was convinced they were iron meteorites. We both got so freaking excited that we hit a new strewnfield. Later in the day Glenn picked up a piece that has some lines across the metal. This was a bit disappointment, as we knew it now wasn't an new field or meteorite. After doing some research we found out that the area was once used for fragment grenades ... Take care, Rob Allison
  22. Hello Ray, No biggie on the new detector, I'm glad you got a great unit for a great price. The SD2100 is a great nugget hunting detector and you will find a lot of gold with it. Yep, if you don't turn your SD or GP on first you will trip the Li-Ion battery. It's best to carry your Li-Ion charger with the 12v plug in your vehicle just in case this happens. What happens is the Li-Ion battery trips down to 1.0v and needs to be placed back on the charger for about one minute to reset back to the charged voltage. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  23. Hello Grubstake, Congrats to all you guys! Did you guys end up branching the patch area out more, or just re-working the original discovery from the following weekend? Leaverite and I got out today and we hit a new little patch. I ended up with over 1.25 ounces, which has been awhile since I've done that. Leaverite found a couple of smaller ones. This spot has good potential for a multi-ouncer. I could only imagine how many people have tried to call Miner Matt for an invite. Hope you guys continue to hit big. Rob Allison
  24. Hello All, Leaverite and I got out today and done some prospecting around some old nugget patches. After about 6 hours of hard hunting we hit a new little patch that gave up over 1 1/4 ounces of nice nuggets. We were both using the Minelab GPX-4000's and Coiltek 14-inch Mono Round's. I was lucky enough to find (5) gold nuggets for right at 1.25 ounces of gold! The weights were 8.1, 8.1, 5.5, 2.1 & 1.0 Dwt's. Leaverite found two for a total of 1.6 Dwt's. Take a gander at the gold nugget below. Happy Hunting, Rob Allison
  25. Hello Ray, Congrats on getting a Minelab PI. John purchased most of that stuff from me originally, so I know you're going to have a blast with it. Make sure you run that Coiltek Li-Ion System in the 7.3v setting for the best performance on your SD2100. It will just be a matter of time before you're posting your first SD2100 gold nuggets! Feel free to hit us all up with questions. Good luck out there, Rob Allison
