  3. Hey Ed, Ya, that was the first thing I noticed with the GPZ 7000 that there is a very small percentage of guys that are 6 foot 3 +, making it a much shorter detector for them. The options of the older GPX series and down allows you to use longer upper shafts and longer lowers to make up for length. I haven't heard of any longer lowers or anything as of yet. I think you could probably stretch the cord a bit more inside if needed.
  4. Hey Guys, I have a ton of stuff in the garage that I need to get rid off. Here are a few items that I need to move quickly if you're interested. Metal Detecting, Dredging and Misc items for sale. (1) Bowflex Revolution Gym System - Paid over $3800 four years ago. I'm asking $1000 and you pick it up locally and I will help break down. Smoking deal, don't have room for it. (1) Keene 4-inch Dredge Dual Sluice Box, Pontoons with Hooka and the works - Paid over $4000 with all the extras. I'm asking $2500.00. I only used this 3 times since I owned it. Always been in the garage. (1) XP Deus Metal Detector - New this unit is $1600.00. I'm asking $1100.00. Only used twice, customer traded in for a GPZ 7000. (1) Minelab GPX 5000 with all stock accessories - Used only a few times, new price is $5795.00. Asking $3200 firm on this unit. Still has around 2 years on the warranty. I might have a few other GPX 5000 in the near future also, price will vary on accessories and condition. I will list more items in the next day or so.
  5. Hey Doc, I tell myself that all the time, when you're on the gold, the Grass over the Hill isn't always Greener! That being said, my cell phone number is "602" 909-9008 for the next video!! You placed 623 ..... Heheh .... I guess I won't expect call this time.
  6. Hello All, I was able to get out Friday to hit a few old patches for a few hours. The weather was fabulous, probably around 65 degrees where I was. Nothing impressive as far as find, the 9 dinks total up to 2.2 Grams of gold. Hoping to get one more day in this weekend before the Holiday weekend is over. I need another 5 Grams to maintain my average per weekend. Nice thing with the GPZ, I haven't been skunked yet, don't plan on it either!
  7. Hey Doc, Congrats on the recent finds. I was able to get out today, despite being dead tired I found 9 small ones. Will post a picture later tonight of my dinks, like 2+ grams total.
  8. Hey 1manoperation, The ohm value of the Mono's and DD's are different, but can't remember right off hand what they should be. That is a option though. Sorry I missed this post earlier.
  9. Hey GPZ7000Guy, Thanks a million. Pass the card around if you would. We will make sure we take care of anyone that purchases through us. Wishing you a bunch of success with the new Minelab GPZ 7000 metal detector!!
  10. Hey Jim, Any bites on your GPZ 7000? Damn, hate to see you get out of the hobby, but understand your position. If anyone is looking, Jim purchased this unit from me, I hate to see him sell it, but it is a great deal for anyone looking to get a like-new GPZ 7000 with very little wear and time on it. The unit was purchased from us if anyone has questions. Hope you can move it soon. Hate to see you get out of the hobby. Wishing you the best on your next adventure.
  11. Hey Grubstake, Very little drinking for me. When I was young it was fun to drink, but as I have gotten older I have lost interests in stuff that is not productive for me, such as drinking. If the right situation and environment is present, I might drink a beer or two. It's more sociable drinking if anything. Believe it or not, my favorite drink with my wife is the Bloody Mary. I don't like the taste of hard alcohol at all, so I need those girly type drinks! Hoping to get a few more nuggets this weekend with the GPZ 7000. I'm loving this metal detector, has kind of re-kindled my interests in metal detecting for gold nuggets once again.
  12. Hello All, Just wanted to wish everyone a very safe and fun Memorial Day weekend. I'm hoping to get out for a day or so to swing the GPZ 7000. Hope you all have a great time with family, friends and maybe able to swing your detector. Thanks to everyone that has contributed here on the forums with stories, finds or just a simple reply back to someone. Your friend and fellow nuggetshooter, Rob Allison
  13. Hey Dave and others, It's real easy on the forums to take something someone wrote and take it out of content. Talking with someone is person, they can see your expressions and watch your emotions, but on the forums it's just words. It's real easy to read something and assume it means "this or that." I do it all the time, but have to sit back and read it a few times and think "maybe he meant this, but it was written like that." No biggie, the forums are for everyone to share their finds, stories and anything else. As for the gold paint, it would be a real chuckle to have a can in your detector bundle so when your better half asks you what that is, you can tell her if you don't find gold, you can at least act like it! Wishing everyone a great Memorial Day Weekend and hoping some nugget shooting to go along with it.
  14. Hey Russ and All, I'm not trying to be hard on Dave, as I have helped him a bunch via text messages and phone support. I can only do so much with the limited amount of time I have. If someone goes out and can't find a nugget, I don't have all the answers. For the most part, they are not getting the coil over the gold and hunting all the wrong locations. This hobby is not for the ones that have to justify their time in the field every trip with their wife or girlfriend. If that is the cause, others hobbies might fit their needs better. The ones that push hard through all the skunks will be the ones at the end of the day with the nuggets. Don't give up, the moment you give up, the ones that pushes on next to you will pluck the gold! P.S. Where can I get a case of that "Gold Spray Paint" anyways ..... LOL Might make a good detector bundle package, if not, a good laugh from the customer.
  15. Hey Guys, Over the years I have helped thousands of guys/gals learn about metal detecting for gold. Having a limited amount of time due to my day job, the business and my family life, some feel they need all my attention. My service has always been unlimited email, phone and forum support and has never changed, but that don't include holding your hand and getting you over a handful of nuggets. I take customers out, give them top rate training on their detector(s) and hopefully get you over a nugget that same day. Some customers go home skunked, but majority find at least a nugget throughout the day. That all being said, after the training day, you're on your own. I have gotten more customers over nuggets than any other dealer on the forum hands down. We are talking hundreds of nuggets, which could be nuggets I would find. To get to the point, people will always be jealous of the guys that are successfully finding gold. These people are the ones that don't want to put forth the hard effort, research and boots on the ground to find the gold. Many believe you can just buy a detector and find handfuls of gold. These are the same that will probably say "Rob paints rocks gold to make people think they are nuggets!" LOL ..... Funny, I have nothing to prove, nor do I need to show a single nugget I find. I run this forum, offer the best service and support because I love this hobby and believe it's one of the greatest hobbies to get some return out of your investment. These return can be a combination of things; gold nuggets, stress relief, exercise, friendship, make peace with God and more. Hope you understand. Now go find a nugget if you can! P.S. Dave, why don't you tell them how much advice, time on the phone and hundreds of text messages I have helped you with just to clear the air.
  16. Hey Tom, Excellent find! Glad you're checking out the benches now, you don't want to leave nuggets behind. The next move is to bring the GPZ 7000 into Pizza before it gets placered. Wishing you much more success detecting and eating Pizza.
  17. Hey Guys, By any means it's not easy, some places you have to dig hundreds of trash targets for a single nugget. The nice thing about old patches is minimal amount of surface trash. It's only easy to score nuggets when guys placer the entire wash for a GPZ 7000 to come through! That was my inside voice speaking .....
  18. Hey Jim, Thanks for the comments. I haven't been back to one patch yet, where I have struggled to find a nugget within the first 15 minutes. I had nuggets in all of these patches from this last weekend within minutes. I'm more excited about finding new spots and leaving less behind this Winter season. Until then, I will hunt easy during the Summer months working some old patches plucking what I can out of them. I'm confident from the results I have seen so far, that this Summer season I could have my GPZ 7000 paid in full from old patches. Figuring an average of 1/4 ounce per weekend trip. Approx 16 - 20 weeks of Summer heat here in Arizona left, 4-5 ounce of gold at that rate = $4800 - $6000 at spot. I'm over 3 ounce now. Be interesting to see what I have around September.
  19. Hello All, It's been a good 2-3 weeks since I've been able to get out and swing the GPZ 7000. I've been so wound up lately with family sickness and such, I really just needed a few hours in the hills. I hunted three old patches with the new Minelab GPZ 7000, 2-3 hours on each patch to see what I could turn up. The first location, which I hammered to depth in the past, I found the most nuggets. I found 10 small nuggets for 1.8 Grams of gold. Most of all the nuggets were at depth, but a few were right on the surface on the bedrock and I missed them with the Minelab SDC 2300. Really mind boggling, since I seen the scratches and digs of the SDC all around the area and they were right out in the open where I know I scanned. No real answer on it besides the GPZ is more sensitive to some types of gold I guess. The second location was very mineralized, hard to keep the Minelab GPX 5000 years ago stable on it. I've already been to this spot with the SDC 2300 about a year ago and found 12 within a few hours, all really small. I spent 2 hours on this patch and found a nice 2.5 Grammer down about a foot and then a smaller one for a total of 2.8 Grams. The last location was a shocker because I pounded it to death before also, but found the most weight there. I found 8 gold nuggets at this spot, all down at least 6 inches, the bigger ones at nearly a foot. Total from this old patch was 7.6 Grams. Ended the weekend hunt with 20 gold nuggets and 12.2 Grams, close to 1/2 ounce of nuggets on pounded ground. A very needed hunt and hundreds of spots to return to. Hope you enjoyed. Its still out there .....
  20. Hey Guys, I'm selling my personal XP Deus Metal Detector with WS$ Backphone wireless heaphones and 9-inch coil and remote. I think this unit is great, no questions it's the lightest detector around. The wireless ability is awesome and overall performance. My heart is is nuggetshooting, so I thought I would give the Deus a shot, just too many used detectors around here and I can't use them all. Figured its a great time to pass it onto another person that can put it to great use. I'm asking $1200 shipped in the US. The MAP price on this unit is $1550.00 + Shipping. The unit was used 3 times in the field, for maybe 2-3 hours each time. The unit is like new. I will be placing this unit on Ebay within the next couple of days, figured I would give someone here a chance at it first for a better deal. Call us at 623.362.1459 if you're interested.
  21. Hey Doc, Good video on specific gravity. I use a Triple Beam, but have used my digital using a method you shown on the video. It gets a bit more complex and you have to have larger equipment to weigh specimens like the one pictured below. I found a ledge of this stuff, the piece shown has a 1/2 ounce nugget sticking out one side. Good example of where gold nuggets come from.
  22. Hey Guys, The 24K was a good club and was very fun to be part of for the short lived club. Hundreds of nuggets were removed from metal detectorist in the year or so the club was pushing. A few multi-ouncer were even found and some nice quartz and gold chunks. Like Ron mentioned, the claims have been sold a few times now, but the new owners are probably going to commercially mine the placers in the near future. Any chance of a club popping back up there is almost impossible at best. I couldn't tell you how many nuggets I took from the pushes, during and after them.
  23. Hey Doc, Very interesting. Sure worth checking out the slopes in the area to see if you can track where the vein could be bleeding off from. Could be some nice chucks hanging up higher. Thanks for sharing!!
  24. Hey Doc and others, I have added the new 14x13 Black GPZ Skid Plate to our store. It's available for sale and in stock ready to ship. We are offer free shipping on it also. http://www.robsdetectors.com/gpz-7000-black-skid-plate
  25. Thanks once again guys. Some small improvements, but looks like it could be a long recovery. Please continue to pray. God Bless you All!
