  1. Hello Bunk, Congrats on finding a mini-patch so far. I would circle around the area at least a hundred or so feet. If that don't produce anything, go direct up the hill or slope if present. You might be onto a "run," which normally run in a straight line down a hill or slope. Hope you find more, Rob Allison
  2. Hello Dakota Slim, About 40 members showed up there Saturday morning, most left after a couple hours of not finding anything. Leaverite and I hit it hard for a few hours on the pushes, then checked out some other spots. When I returned, Elly stated not a single nugget was found. Leaverite and I went back up for another hour and had the pushes to ourselves. However, we still didn't score a single nugget! Friend went up today and heard no nuggets have been found. Take care, Rob Allison
  3. Hello Guys, Thanks for the link to the forum. Seems like a lot of bicker ... Take care, Rob Allison
  4. Hello All, I received the new 2008 Minelab Dealer Agreement along with a letter about increased prices starting Jan. 1st 2008. Yep, that is correct, many of the Minelab metal detectors and accessories will increase. I was out at Stanton today and several guys that have been waiting have decided to purchase now and save $500 on the GPX-4000's. If anyone is waiting, you might want to consider before the new year. Here are some of the prices on metal detectors effective Jan. 1st 2008. Minelab GPX-4000 - $4,495.97 Minelab SD2100v2 - $1,995.97 Minelab SD2200v2 - $2,495.97 Minelab Explorer SE - $1,298.97 Minelab Sovereign G/T - $798.97 Minelab Eureka Gold - $898.97 Minelab Excalibur II - $1,198.97 The X-Terra Series are pretty much the same price. I'm running bundle packages on all metal detectors, which include FREE Shipping, FREE 2-Year Extended Warranty, FREE Field Instructions and More! Give me a call, ask for ROB. (623) 362-1459 Take care, Rob Allison
  5. Hello Don, Yep, pretty much all the SD/GP coils are interchangable (5-pin connector). Coiltek and Nuggetfinder coils will work on any SD or GP series metal detector also. Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  6. Hello All, I received a couple PM's and emails about this "HighDesertForum." I don't have a direct link, so if anyone has one, please feel free to post it here. Heard there is a lot of Highgrading talk. Also heard they are claiming the Minelab Commander coils are better than any NF or Coiltek coil? Would like to see the writing in person .... Rob Allison
  7. Hello Uncle Ron and All, I would like to whis everyone here on my Nuggethunting Forums a Happy Thanksgiving. There are hundreds of great contibutors here on the forums and I'm blessed to have them here. Wishing you all the best health, wellness and even a few gold nuggets over this Holiday Season. Warm Regards, Rob Allison
  8. Hello Flak and All, I think this is a good thread, because this question is brought up very often. When I'm out conducting field instructions, many prior Minelab owners ask about the "correct procedure" to auto tune a Minelab PI. I've personally had the best results from all the Minelab PI's by just leaving the searchcoil on the ground and then reaching around and hitting the "auto tune" button. While the detector is tuning, I won't move the searchcoil, but keep it completely on the ground until the tuning process is complete. I've had much better results using this technique on all the PI's, rather than holding the searchcoil out in the air or rotating 360 degrees to find the worst interference. I normally only auto tune once in the morning on the GPX-4000 and then use the manual tune control for fine adjustments when there might be planes or other temporary interference around. I've found in most places the tune works miracles, while in others spots it don't matter, the interference is too powerful to adjust out. Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison
  9. Hello All, I actually get a bunch of these feedback statements, but haven't updated my website in some time. Since Donna and her husband SkipperBill are great friends and customers, I decided to post it below - Thanks Bill & Donna for all your friendship and business over the years. Rob Allison
  10. Hello Montana Bob, My favorite settings for small gold on or near bedrock is the "Sensitive/Smooth/Quiet mode and run a higher Gain (normally 13-14). If I want to really run super sensitive and the mineralization will allow, I will go to Sensitive/Extra and Quiet or Sensitive/Extra/Boost. One thing that is so great about the GPX-4000 is the fact you can run tons of settings to find out what is best for each user and the ground they are hunting on. I'm not using any signal enhancer or amp to increase audio and have no problem whatsoever finding the small dinks down to a grain in size. I really love the DetectorPro Black Widow headphones. Take care, Rob Allison
  11. Hello JW, I'm not sure who said .1 - .2 grains ... I have personally found hundreds of nuggets that are in the range of 2-5 grains with no problems on all the GP and GPX detectors. I've found them under a grain, on the surface of the bedrock with the Coiltek Joey Mono & GPX-4000 combo in the Sensitive/Smooth mode and Quiet audio. When I'm hunting very small gold, I prefer Sensitive/Smooth & Boost, or Sensitive/Extra & Boost for dinks. Hope this helps a bit, Rob Allison
  12. Hello JW, You should be able to find a 2-3 grain nugget easy with the GPX-4000 and the Minelab 8-inch round mono. The Coiltek Joey 10x5, Minelab 8-inch Round and the NF 10x5 are all great coils for small gold. I've found them as small as 0.7 - 0.8 grains with these coils. Keep in mind, your hearing, headphones and settings can't cause you to find or miss these small gold nuggets. Take care, Rob Allison Hello All, Forgot to mention what i wanted to say about interference. I've found you will encounter EM Interference when you're around Overhead Transmission or Distribution Power Lines, Airplanes, Hydro-Dams & Windy days. These are some of the more major ones I've experienced here in Arizona. Take care, Rob Allison
  13. Hello All, Received a couple emails asking if everything was ok on my end. Yes, I'm fine and everything is going very well. Just been very busy with work, school, running the business and now the Holidays. This last weekend I took a couple new GPX-4000 customers out and got them over their first AZ gold nuggets. I also purchase a new toy I will talk about later. Happy Holidays to you all, Rob Allison
  14. Hello All, I would first like to add, I will not tolerate any attacks or negative comments about AZO on this forum. Chris is not only my cousin, but a long time nugget hunting partner of mine. All I ask is to keep it clean and talk about anything related to prospecting for gold. With that said, I've had great success here in Arizona with my Minelab GPX-4000. With this metal detector I can fine tune to just about any ground condition with a monoloop searchcoil. I've found a couple hundred nuggets with mine so far, which is more than some and a lot less than others. Wishing you all the best, Rob Allison
  15. Hey Reno Chris, Is that some of the stuff you found last time in Nevada nuggethunting? Nice looking gold! Rob Allison
  16. Hello Tool, Very interesting. There is no doubt Nevada has a lot of gold. Take care, Rob Allison
  17. Hello Hotrock, I try not to leave those ones behind, but it happens .... I'm sure there are more of those up in that area somewhere. Congrats, Rob Allison
  18. Hello Uncle Ron, Congrats on your recent gold nugget finds! You have been very consistant finding nuggets in the 1-3 Gram range each trip out. It's just a matter of time until one of those 100 Grammers is right in front of you. Keep up the successful nuggethunting, Rob Allison
  19. Hello All, Thanks for the information. I guess the System Keys have changed over the years. Mine is much smaller now and don't open any bathrooms to my knowledge. Take care, Rob Allison
  20. Hello Don, Will try to give you a call tonight. I have school also, so won't be home until late. Last night I was so damn tired I crashed out early. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  21. Hello Karl, Happy Birthday! Where have you been? Rob Allison
  22. Hey Hot Rock, Congrats on the nice 1/4 ounce gold nugget! I think I left that one behind for you. I'm sure there are more nuggets up at that area. Congrats once again, Rob Allison
  23. Hello Matt and Family, My condolences to both you and your family. You Father-in-Law is now in a much better place. Everytime you find a nugget he will be overlooking you. If you ever need to talk, feel free to call anytime bud. Rob Allison
  24. Hello Bob, Talked with Elly a few nights ago. The pushes are this coming weekend, but will only be on the Desert Special pushes on the west side of Rich Hill. The pushes have only produced many a dozen nuggets, so it will be interesting to see if more come out when they get deeper. Not sure I will be at the pushes, I'm more interested in finding new ground now. Talk with you later, Rob Allison
