GOT MY NEW PLATYPUS MONO TODAY
nuggethunting replied to grubstake's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hello Grubstake, I think you're going to love the Platypus Mono. I sold a couple of detectors and (10) of the new Platypus coils last night. My truck is packed with boxes to take to the Post Office this afternoon. I still have a couple of guys coming over this week to get theirs and some others I haven't heard back from. Make sure you give us a report when you test the new coil. Rob Allison -
Hello All, Just wanted to let all the guys/gals on the Coiltek pre-order list that the new Coiltek Platypus Mono Searchcoils have arrived. Just about all the ones I received are spoken for, but do have 2-3 still available if anyone wants one. Please give me a call at (623) 362-1459 to confirm your order and have it shipped tomorrow US Priority Mail. Several customers are coming over tonight to pick up new detectors and platypus coils. P.S. The coils look great, just what I expected from Coiltek! Rob Allison

82 Rich Hill Nuggets From 24K Claims!
nuggethunting replied to Dakota Slim's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hello Dakota, Yep, Gary hit a nice pocket there, but eventually played out. Another member is currently working the old hole and hasn't had much luck at all. Can't wait for the pushes ... Rob Allison -
Prospecting Rich Hill Today
nuggethunting replied to nuggethunting's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hello Wonderer, From what I've found out by experimenting, is that you can run DD's and DD Pro's with a high Gain with very little noise on the GPX-4000. There might be some areas where a "Mono" might struggle with a higher Gain, so a DD might be worth a try and running it a bit hotter. This is one of the great things about a GPX-4000, you have a lot more control over different settings than prior models. Take care, Rob Allison -
Rain, Rain and a new GPX-4000
nuggethunting replied to nuggethunting's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hello Guys, Wonderer - I will try to give you a call this evening. Yes, I have all the lower shafts in stock at all times. There are three different ones, the Minelab lower stock shaft ($32.97), the Otto heavy-duty lower shaft ($35), or the Otto heavy-duty lower "extra-long" shaft ($39). The Otto extra long is like 3-4 inches longer than the Minelab stock or standard Otto lower shafts. Grubstake - Wish I had more FREE time to play around up there with you guys. Been hunting the Arizona deserts for 15 years, sometimes it seems like the same old places again and again .... Karl - The Turquoise Monster!!! There will be some good times once again on the 24 Karat Gold Hunters Club. Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year. Bunk - Sure wish I had a daughter like yours! The new GPX-4000 might be your Birthday and Christmas presents for the next 10 years. You're going to love the detector and it sounds like you have already scored with the new unit. Congrats! Take care, Rob Allison -
Hello Uncle Ron, The LSD area is a great area for gold nuggets. I have a handful of spots around LSD that have been very productive, but I believe they are all claimed up. Someday the claims will drop and I can check them out with the Minelab GPXS-7500. Congrats on the recent nugget finds. Rob Allison

Hello Guys, The latest update is Doc has shipped some of you guys your Platypus Mono coil directly. I think most of the guys on my pre-oreder list will have their coils coming to me with an exception of a few. I have a long list here for a bunch of you guys plus other stuff you wanted to add to the Platypus Mono order. The minute the coils arrive I will make an announcement on the forum, plus try to call and email everyone. P.S. I told Doc to tape a small coin between the coil and coil cover on Grubstake's!!! Just a quick update, Rob Allison

Minelab New Offer
nuggethunting replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hello Chuck, Yep, Minelab has been running specials just about every month for detector puchases. The current special, running from Sept - Oct. 2007 is a "Minelab Flashlight/Multi-Tool Keychain." I have to get Bunk over this paperwork so he can get one for his new GPX-4000 purchase. I believe I have taken care of all the other recent detector purchases, but if not, please contact me ASAP so I can get the paperwork to you. Take care, Rob Allison -
Calling Claim Jumper
nuggethunting replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hello Claim Jumper, Congrats on winning! Also, didn't notice you called my cell phone until this morning. When you called yesterday I talking to a customer outside that purchased some accessories from me. Rob Allison -
Hello All, This morning I met up with Bunk (Calvin) on the 24 Karat Gold Hunters claims. Bunk decided to purchase a new Minelab GPX-4000, so I wanted to spend some time with him and get the machine assembled. Well, the weather turned for the worst and it started pouring down for a good 1/2 hour. The rain continued for a good hour and didn't look like it was going to stop. By this time, the ground was soaked and the wet clay was sticking to everything! On the way down from the claims, I had my truck sideways on a clay/muddy road and it took Steve, Kitty, Leaverite and I some time to build a small rock wall so I didn't drop down into a ravine. No nuggets, but we didn't even get to hunt. Maybe next time. Take care, Rob Allison

Octave, Arizona Token
nuggethunting replied to nuggethunting's topic in Coin, Relic and Treasure Hunting Forum
Hello Jim, Yep, this is the other token I have at the other house. I remember the name on the token being A. Giovando. I know another person that has about 5-6 of these tokens, all found in one small area. Thanks for the help, Rob Allison -
Hello Guys, I know it's easy to get drawn into this type of drama. Seems more will view these type of threads than informational ones. It's Human Nature to be curious and want to know what is going on, but I think it's best for us to wish them the best of luck and let everything just run it course. Wishing everyone the best, Rob Allison

Big Rattle Snake
nuggethunting replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hello Chuck, Seems that same picture has been around the forums for several years. I know some of those Eastern Diamondback get huge, but not sure about 100 lb'ers. Take care, Rob Allison -
Hello All, Found with old key while I was out nugget hunting several months ago. Kind of reminds me of an old "Skeleton Key," but not sure that is the correct name for this type of key. Any suggestions? Rob Allison

Octave, Arizona Token
nuggethunting replied to nuggethunting's topic in Coin, Relic and Treasure Hunting Forum
Hey Lizardchaser and all, Not sure what type of metal it is, but it's very light weight. Anyone know if I should try to clean the token, or just leave it as is? I have it packaged up in a small zip tight baggy right now. Any help would be appreciated, Rob Allison -
Hey JW, Nice finds! I need to get back out there and play around with the Explorer more. A good hunting partner, Leaverite is pretty good with his. Thanks for sharing your finds. Rob Allison

Hello Claim Jumper, I kind of seen the JP thing coming ... In the last year there has been all kinds of changes in the prospecting world. Several big dealers went out of business, while many new smaller guys have stepped back in. Coiltek now has a new owner, Trev, which should be great for Coiltek and all the prospectors that have supported Coiltek in the past. I ran into old JW, from JW's Prospecting in Prescott Valley last weekend at Rich Hill. He mentioned he opened up a small shop in Humbolt, AZ. Not sure what product lines he is selling. Take care, Rob Allison

Hello All, Here is an Octave, AZ Token I have that was found with a metal detector around the Rich Hill area. I also have a 6-sided Octave Token that I have to get from my other house. Someone researched this one for me and stated it was worth in the range of $200-$450 depending on shape. Thought you would enjoy, Rob Allison

Hello Rick, I seen this coming, but found out they are just carrying the X-Terra series. From what I'm told, they will not be carry the gold prospecting detectors like the SD series and GPX. Thanks for the update, Rob Allison

Prospecting Rich Hill Today
nuggethunting replied to nuggethunting's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hello Wonderer, The Coiltek Platypus Mono will give better depth and sensitivity. It's going to be interesting to see how this coil works on the pushes. The minute I get my test coil I'm going to give it a whirl and see how it runs on my GPX-4000. I'm expecting good results. Talk with you later, Rob Allison -
Prospecting Rich Hill Today
nuggethunting replied to nuggethunting's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hello Steve, Yes, I will be calling everyone once the Platypus searchcoils arrive. They are in route right now. I believe the price is $229 for the new Coiltek Platypus Mono Searchcoil. Also, Glenn found a nice 28 grain (1.2 Dwt) gold nugget on the West side pushes Sunday. He found a nugget close to this one several months ago with the GP3000, but missed the one he found Sunday. He claims the GPX-4000 was getting better depth and missed the one with the GP3000. Take care, Rob Allison -
Hello All, This morning Leaverite and I met up with Jim P., Mike K. (AZ4AU) & Glenn on the 24K Gold Hunters Club. The first part of the day we all kind of wondered around on the old pushes. Leaverite and I weren’t having much luck, so I decided to check out a spot that was rumored a small patch. Leaverite and I didn't find any detector digs, but the old-timers worked a small section and there was some good looking quartz float. I walked around a bit and examined the ground. I finally found a spot that looked good and turned the detector on. After three swings I hit a small gold nugget about an inch or so deep. I ran over and got Leaverite so we both could double-team the area. For about an hour or so we both wondered around and circled where I found the gold nugget. We found some trash, but not another piece of gold. I sure hate those "One Nugget Patches!" The area sure looks good, so I find it hard to believe that was it .... (Pictured Below) Nugget on left is the one I found today. Nugget on the right is a small one Leaverite found during the week in the Bradshaw's. Take care, Rob Allison

Hello Guys, The most important things to me are Integrity, Honesty and Pride when it comes to business. I know I don't sell the most Minelab's in the US, but I do know if you purchase from me you're going to get the best service available. Gold prospecting realistically is a small market. If you go around "burning bridges" the news will travel very fast! Today at Rich Hill, several guys in the club heard about the Walco dealings. I asked them how they heard about it and they said they heard from others. Just goes to show how bad news travels around, must faster than you expect. Sadly, good news seems to travel at the speed of a Snail, but at least it gets out! The Good News is a new USA built pick will be available soon. The Bad News, I only found one gold nugget today. Rob Allison
