Happy Birthday Shay

Happy Birthday Shay. Never met you, hope to at one of the outings at some point. -
Hey Chuck, There are a lot of pinpointers on the market now. They are all great, but this new Garrett is crazy sensitive to small gold. I haven't compared it to the Makro as of yet, but heard the standard Garrett Pro-Pointer was more sensitive to small gold nuggets, but wasn't waterproof. The new Garrett is waterproof and still has the same, if not better sensitivity.

Sdc 2300 issue
nuggethunting replied to A Sasquatch's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hey Sasquatch, Congrats on the 10 Grams of gold. That is a good amount of gold that was missed. I really think the SDC, even though it's a lot more expensive is replacing the GB2. The SDC in some spots runs better on high mineralization than the GPX 5000. The ability to balance out high mineralization, hot bedrock and such and still find nuggets under a grain is amazing. It will hit a small nugget, 1-2 grain size at twice or better the depth of the GB2. The GB2 is still a great VLF. The guys in Mexico love them. -
Nice day in the hill

Hey Tom, Was up around your country this weekend with a friend that purchased a GPZ and SDC. He said he's going to pound your patches ..... LOL Just kidding. He's as GREEN and GREEN can get right now. That being said, thought I might bump into you up that way. Congrats on your nuggets. Any nuggets beat the old Skunk! -
Hey AzNuggetBob, I thought the same thing, the guy was in virgin ground and when the excavator came over I though it's going to be big one. I have dug a few of those trash targets over the years, convinced it was a nugget. Funny, a couple of weekends ago I was so convinced I found a nice one at depth with the GPZ, I pulled out the camera, called over a friend and dug the target. I was down around 1.5 feet and out popped a old piece of lead. I was so damn disappointed! My friend was amazed a piece of lead got that deep. Funny, all the other targets at depth were nuggets, right in the nearby area also. I still have the video, I might post it to show they always aren't gold nuggets!

Nokta Fors Gold
nuggethunting replied to californiagold's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hey Dave, I respect everyone's opinion, but lets be honest here. You have called and texted me a zillion times in the last 6 months. I have told you my honest advice, but you always decide to purchase the opposite of what I tell you. I understand you have a budget, like most do. Keep in mind, I never had an internet, gold forums, the wealth of information now out there back when I started. I was lucky enough to find someone willing to help, but I paid my dues dearly. I found some spots, showed my mentor and got cleaned out. It's just part of learning what you missed. I know you have been out a handful of times with no gold from what you have told me. Welcome to the club (being nice), some have went years with not a single nugget. It's a numbers game, you can't complain you're wasting too much gas or spending too much to search for a nugget. If that is the case (being nice again), get out of the hobby. You're probably going to spend far more than you ever get in return searching for gold when you tally up gas, wear and tear, food and drink expenses and much more. That all being said, it's the "adventure" of being in the outdoors and the lure of maybe finding a nugget(s). A person that is not financially sound shouldn't be gambling on finding gold to supplement their income. For more, this hobby is recreational and is for fun and the "thrill of the kill." Hope you understand. The ones that give up, will never find a nugget. The ones that push hard, continue to search will find gold! -
Hello All, Saturday I had a customer that is very serious about metal detecting purchase a GPZ 7000 and SDC 2300. My partner and I took him out Saturday to allow him to run the GPZ 7000 over some washes we found nuggets in before. Within a few hours, working together with him I was able to get him over 4 gold nuggets at depth in this pounded wash. My partner used my GPZ 7000 and hunted a nearby wash while I was training and snagged 4 small ones also. We thought these washes were dead, never expected to pluck 8 out of them. I now have to hunt a lot of washes at some point, but will probably wait for the Summer Monsoons to get a better chance of missed gold plus the Monsoon water action. Here are the nuggets we found. The four on the left are the ones my customer and I found, the ones on the right are my partners using my GPZ. It's out there. Another 6.5 ounces roughly and this GPZ is paid for at $1150 per ounce spot!!

Sdc 2300 issue
nuggethunting replied to A Sasquatch's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hello Sasquatch, Yes, the best solution is to place a wedge between the upper batteries and you won't have another issues again with re-setting. You can also tape the batteries like Chris mentioned to increase the diameter of the batteries to keep them fro shifting. Hope this helps. -
Hello All, Here is a short video I took this last weekend. I actually uploaded part 2 and called it part 1. I will upload the first part later today. It's amazing on the depth on smaller gold, take a gander at the video. If you want to follow me on Youtube, make sure you subscribe to my channel and you will see all the new videos the moment they get uploaded. Hope you enjoyed.

Happy Birthday Doc. Couldn't guess your age if I had to. Thanks for always being a special friend. -
Hello All, It's getting late and I have a bunch to do before hitting the sack tonight, but spend this weekend pounding away at some old patches with the GPZ 7000's. A good friend and customer came down from Tucson and we roamed around 3-4 patches over the weekend and scored 27 nuggets, 23 of them are mine and 4 when I left were a friends. I'm hoping my friend scored some more from the patch later in the evening when I left. The GPZ 7000 is an amazing detector, learned more about it this weekend and what settings I really like! My total for the 23 nuggets on the left side of the GPZ coil is 5.2 Dwts (a bit over 1/4 ounce). Biggest nugget was a bit over 1/2 Dwt. I was hoping for a bigger one, but it just wasn't there this time.

Great day in the hills
nuggethunting replied to oldies1955's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hey Tom, Ya, I think it would be worth it in those washes you found. Sometimes you can walk a long distance scanning the banks, but it only take one to make it worthwhile. Sometimes the ones that get hung up on the benches can be the bigger ones. Sure worth a day hunt to investigate some of your better, more productive gullies that had nugget gold. Wishing you much luck. -
Hello All, I have a handfuls of used, great condition metal detectors for sale that I either took in trade or they were units I had in stock and used for display at shows. I will eventually place all these units on Ebay with their serial numbers, but figured I would try to unload them here first due to the great bargains. (2) Minelab CTX 3030's, all stock accessories. One is my personal unit with very little wear and another is a show demo. Normal price is $2499.00. I'm asking $2000 for each of them. This is a $500 savings. (1) Tesoro Lobo ST - Demo Unit from show, never used on the ground, just opened for display so customer could look at features and accessories. Normal price is $679.15, I'm asking $500.00. Almost a $200 savings. (1) Minelab GPX 5000 Metal Detector, all stock accessories. Great condition, used only a few times and customer upgraded to GPZ 7000. Normal price is $5795.00. I'm asking $3400.00 firm on this unit. This is over a $2000.00 savings. (1) XP Deus Metal Detector, like new, display model. I will get more details on this unit up soon.

wheres all the gpz 7000 fimds ???
nuggethunting replied to gubelube's topic in Gold Nugget Hunting & Prospecting Forum
Hey Gubelube, Give me a call when you're ready. I told you originally you should have taken the GPZ 7000. No biggie, but you won't second guess yourself with the GPZ 7000. All the nuggets I have posted from the GPZ 7000 have been missed with the GPX 5000 and the SDC 2300. I'm hunting slow and methodical, but done the same years ago on these patches with the GPX 5000 and in some spots with larger round coils. Tortuga - A package is heading your way today!! -
Hey Guys, Ya, it was a much needed getaway into the hills. Always nice to walk home with almost a 1/2 ounce of nuggets. The big 8.1 Dwt was a nice surprise and down about 14-15 inches. It wasn't a faint, whisper, so figured it was a piece of rubbish down 3-4 inches. When I got down around 8 inches I wished I would have started the video. Oh well, there will be another hopefully soon ..... Gubelube - Not sure a 8 Dwt is a "dink," if so I want to hunt where you go.
