  1. Hello all, Last weekend I was talking with a guy and he mentioned he hand placered a gulch and said it was beat up, not worth returning with a metal detector. I told him I could probably sneak a few small ones out, even though they placered it down to bedrock and worked with small searchcoils on the GPX detectors. It was more of a challenge to me and the SDC 2300, so I gave it a whirl. I didn't get anything real impressive, but keep in mind I forgot my headphones and had to listen to the wind, planes and the coil scrapping across the bedrock the entire day. 3.4 Dwt's worth of gold for about 4 hours of hunting a beat down spot. Not sure there is a such a spot to a Minelab SDC 2300!
  2. Hey Adam, My SDC does that. It's amazing how much the older PI's actually miss to be honest. Seeing what my SDC is doing in all those washes , couldn't imagine what the GPZ 7000 would do.
  3. Hey Ron, Congrats to all the success. The gold coins you guys are finding are amazing beyond the nuggets and specimens. Wishing you guys a very successful 2015 season!
  4. Hey Way2cool, I have to agree. Some have given me credit card numbers, which I don't like to do in advance to make sure they get one of the first ones that hit US soil. I have to figure out how many of these I need to order out of the gate. I don't want to sit on a ton of them, but sure seems like the demand is high right now for them. I have a feeling some solid information has leaked to the outside, giving some a better feeling this could be a "sleeper" metal detect. Only time will tell, but I'm excited to run it across some old spots along with all the new locations I will encounter in the future quests for gold.
  5. Hey Guys, If anyone is in the area of Pomona I recommend stopping over and chatting with Jim McCulloch. He's a stand up guy and great to chat with. He's also an expert with the White's Metal Detectors.
  6. Hey Guys, Some great info on boosters/signal enhancers. I never used one on any GPX model, as the audio seems much higher to me. I did use one on the SD series (SD 2000 and SD2100). I didn't use the SD2200d very much, wasn't a big fan of it back in the day. I used a booster on the Extreme, GP 3000 and GP 3500 along with the Coiltek Pocket Rocket Li-Ion Battery System. The new Goldscreamer Power Pack developed by Doc's Detecting is a unit that many are using on the GPX series. This unit has the Goldscreamer Signal Enhancer built into it making it not only a lightweight battery system, but also a signal enhancer all in one. On another note, I also thought Bruce Candy developed the signal enchancer in the stock GPX battery. JP would you happen to know who developed it or is it just a standard enhancer with no real special feature about it?
  7. Hey Guys, I know there is a lot of talk about this new Minelab GPZ 7000 Gold Detector on the forums and here. Here is another "sneak peak" picture of the GPZ 7000 from the ICMJ ad. This had the quotes of the Field Tester in the US, Steve. If anyone is interested in this unit, we will have a stock of them once they arrive in the US. Please make sure you contact us ASAP as our pre-order listing is actually growing pretty quickly. I didn't thing there would be as many wanting one right out of the gate, but some guys are sold on them already, so my guess is some of the field reports must be solid and many are taking the plunge right away. If the unit does what it claims, the early ones will probably have the best chance to hit the old patches where some larger nuggets could be hiding still.
  8. Hey Guys, My best guess is the 40% will not be on all targets, but you will only see that on optimal conditions. Many will equate 40% to this type of statement - "Well my GPX 5000 found a 1/4 ounce slug at 16 inches, so that means this new detector will find that same targets at 22.5 inches (40% more)." I find that very hard to believe, but even if you could get another inch or so, that is still a great gain on some type of ground conditions. I have a handful of places where I know there could be potential for larger nuggets at depth. The question is, are they really there? If so, how many and will an extra inch or so find them? I'm honestly not a huge fan of more depth, I dig plenty of deep targets now with the GPX and even SDC. More depth means more iron rubbish at depth also (which there is a 1,000 times more of this than large gold nuggets at depth). I'm hoping (fingers crossed) for a better discriminator on trashy areas for sub-surface type gold nuggets, potentially larger ones sounding like iron rubbish.
  9. Hey Ausome1, No, I haven't field tested one or see this unit in person yet. That being said, Steve H. probably knows more about this unit than anyone at this point in time. Steve is a personal friend and I would probably take what he says about this unit as Gospel. Makro will have some amazing stuff in the very near future, including this new Racer and Gold Racer.
  10. Hey Grubstake, Haven't heard on a solid US price yet. It wouldn't surprise me if the unit was in the range of $6000 - $7500.00 range. I love new technology, but not sure I want to dig any deeper .... I'm hoping for a better discriminator on a gold hunting detector. I will post more information as it pops onto the internet. I'm sure the Australian dealers will have first hand info if you're not field testing one yet

  14. Hey Tom & Co., Congrats on all the finds. Always great to get out with friends, enjoy the outdoors and get a bit of yellow to boot.
  15. Hello All, Had a great weekend training customers on Saturday with my partner and doing some detecting in a very remote area Sunday. Saturday we kicked off the morning training two new Minelab SDC 2300 customers. One was local of the Buckeye area here in Arizona, the other came in from out of town. We spent about an hour going over the detectors and then got the customer on the goldfield to detect some targets and hopefully some gold. Both customers picked up the SDC 2300 very quickly and were finding and recovering targets with no time. By the end of the day, the customer from Arizona scored 4 nuggets and the other customer from out of town scored one. I'm fortunate to have one of the best trainers in this business helping me. Thanks you both for your business with Rob's Detector Sales. If either of you have any questions - call, email or catch us here on the forums for help. With all the instructions we do during the Winter months, my partner and I need a break to prospect and detect. Sunday morning my partner knew of an area that he thought had potential. Normally, his nose for gold is dead on and he was right this time again! After 3-4 hours of hunting this area I ended up with a nice load of nuggets and one specimen I dug from a small seam in the bottom of the creek. It's still out there and I love this SDC 2300!!
  16. Hey Guys, Lucky - Thanks for the report. I have another big batch of SDC Headphone adapters on the way. We still have a few B&Z boosters, but they are also selling quickly. I played around with the B&Z booster last week for about an hour on targets and it make a huge difference. I'm only hunting in "Gain of 3" and it blew my ears off on very small gold in the 2-3 grain size. We also have the Camo and Gray SDC covers on the way. Hoping for both items early this week.
  17. Hey Guys, GPX Power - Damn, I couldn't remember "Anderson." I never hunted with Glenn, but spent some time chatting around Quartzsite with him many years ago. Nugget Bob - I would love to be part of another, newer generation DVD like the famous VHS tape.
  18. Hey Guy, Jim Straight - I'm by no means any leader, but sure appreciate your comment. You're longtime friendship has meant a lot to me. I've mentioned a dozen times, if not more, that you are one of the reason I'm who I'm today in this hobby of metal detecting. Between your books and emails we sent back and forth and the help of the hands-on training and long-time friendship with Richard Doherty, I wouldn't be here today. I owe all my success to both of you guys. I sure wish Richard was around today and seen where I was at one point to what I have found to date. I didn't know Ron Driscoll and some of the others very well, but I know they were like Richard to others. Nugget Bob - Ya, he did a great job on that video. Funny, about a year ago that VHS tape surfaced here at home. I can't seem to find it now and wish I had a VHS tape of it. I think it would be great if someone would take that VHS tape and make it into a DVD. I couldn't tell you how many times I watches that video myself, but then again my cousin and I watched it together many times before a weekend trip to get us all fired up! Larry Sallee, Nugget Bob, Floyd Allen, Glenn ??? (can;t remember his last name off hand) and anyone else ..... ? God Bless all these great guys and gals that have been mentors to the early learners like myself at one point. I sure hope they are all in Heaven looking down at their students today with a big smile on their face!
  19. Hello All, Not sure if many know Ron Driscoll, but heard he passed away a few weeks ago. A good nugget hunting buddy up North called and told me about it. Ron was pretty famous in Arizona for mining claims, prospecting and other ventures. He was really involved in some of the early clubs and pushes at Rich Hill, Arizona. We are going to miss you Ron.
  20. Hey RelicHunter, Like Steve mentioned, we are pretty much last to know. Since I'm so new with this manufacture, I'm hoping to know more soon. Sounds like something is in the works though.
  21. Hey Gold Seeker, I can't get the Nokta, but Makro will have some amazing new stuff. That is all I can say right now.
  22. Rob's Detector Sales is pleased to announce that we are now a New XP and Makro Dealer. We are excited to lock down this Arizona dealership (one of only a few available) on these products. There are some excited new detectors and products on the way out. Here are a few of their websites if anyone wants to browse some of their products. The XP Dues is a very popular seller, one of the top sellers in Africa now for gold hunting. The new Makro Pinpointer has also been a huge it on the market. We should have a full stock of these items within a week, so if you have any questions or would like to order something, we will be a full supplier of both of these new companies.
