Hey Rick, Forget the shoes, look at the fancy SDC 2300!! As you know, they are awesome, easy to use Pulse Induction metal detectors. I have yet to get skunked with mine, doubt I ever will to be honest. The accessories right now are very tough to keep in stock, (headphone adapters, control box covers, B&Z boosters and more ... ). Hey Roo, Ya, the small ones add up no question about that. At my last count I was just over 200 nuggets, probably in the 225+ range now. My best guess without weighing all of them out is around 4.5 - 5 ounces of smaller gold. Well paid for the detector at full price ($3750 US) and then some. Most of these nuggets (80%) were from old spots, the rest from new places surrounding old placers. Talked with a guy on the phone last weekend that ordered some supplies for his SDC and he said he was well over 1,000 nuggets from Northern Nevada old nugget patches. He said he hunts 6 days a week about 8-10 hours a day.

Hey Chuck, It has always puzzled me why some manufactures leave the door open for other companies to make so many products they could make themselves and sell well. For example, control box covers, signal enhancers, better headphones, more searchcoils and more.

Hey JP, Thanks for building a great amp. Sounds like you can use this for any Minelab PI if I'm correct? That would include the SD, GP, GPX and now the SDC. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey Guys, Yes, the straps are for the armrest that fold in all the time on the SDC. The quality of the control box cover is top notch. Both the camo and gray are selling well. They are a bit expensive at $95, but if they protect the detector it's worth it in my opinion. The small aluminum plate on the bottom is used to turn 90 degrees and helps the detector from falling over on the side while pinpointing and digging a target. This works well and a friend brought it to my attention while we were out detecting. Hope this helps a bit,

Hey Lee, Would love to hear the story. I have heard guys say they can't copy/paste here, but I don't have any problem doing it on my end. I recommend writing the story in a Word Document (Microsoft Word as an example) and then highlight the entire story, hit Control-C to copy it and then Control-V to paste it to the forums. I've been doing this for years and I don't have any issues. If anyone else is having trouble, please let me know.

Hey Ahorton10, Yep, it's a great deal, but understand it's an investment and if you're not using it all the time and on the right ground, it could take forever to pay for it (if you do). Detecting in my opinion is mostly a numbers game, the more you do it the better chances you have on the right ground. If a newbie ran around 7 days a week on the right ground, he would eventually start to find just as much gold if not more than an experienced weekend warrior. The newbie at some point would gain knowledge and experience quickly detecting that much and eventually start to pluck a bunch of gold.

Hey Steve, Yep, I went back and found some pictures of my first finds with the GPX 5000, it was 2010. Between the Codan announcement and researching the patent, no questions it's coming. My best guess is the unit will cost in the range of $6300 and 6500 MAP. Not sure how many can afford units topping the high 5-6K range unless they are very serious hunters. Adam - Agree .... the GP Extreme is a great detector. You might miss 2-5% of the gold the GPX 5000 might get. That could include a deep one just out of the range of an older detector or the smaller nuggets that the GPX 5000 might find in a certain timing. Any guesses on price?

Hey Steve, Great, honest information for the public. We both have been on the same page for years. Like Steve mentioned, it's nothing new, Minelab has always released a new "flagship" PI in the range of 2-3 years. We are a bit beyond that, so it's no secret something is in the works. The biggest questions will be "when are we going to see it." My best guess going from past history of releases is the following - * Nothing is normally announced here in the US before the Annual Minelab Dealer Conference - Feb. 2015 * Normal releases are Winter time in Australia, Summer time for the US * 2-3 Years from the release of the product (we are at 3 years, maybe a bit more like the GPX 4500) This gives you a ballpark idea on when we could see it. If I had to make a very educated guess, I would say June 2015. All that being said, there are hundreds, if not thousands of detectorist using Minelab SD/GP series detectors with great success. You don't have to have the latest and greatest (newest PI) to find gold. Many believe some of the old PI's are better for depth over newer GPX series.

Hey ahorton10, No, I'm not sure I will ever part with the GPX 5000, but giving someone a chance to get one for a good bargain. After Christmas I will have another Demo model, so I can let mine go this year. I know the initial questions is "are you selling cause the new detector?" The answer is no and this is the reason. I can sit and wait for the new detector, which could be late 2015 before we see anything here in the US, if it comes out. That being said, that is nearly a year worth of nugget shooting for me, which could mean several more pounds of gold nuggets. I have a few demo's, one used model (like new trade-in) and some other items for sale. Too much to list, so if someone is serious about a good PI or even coil/relic detector, give me a call.
