garikfox
Hello everyone I'd like to document my expeditions this year. This will be my first season of being an "Electronic Prospector". I've studied most of the summer and am ready to go. I still need to learn more about Geology but I'm hoping this will come with time in the field. I look forward to posting my adventures/expeditions with you all 🙂 --Garik Edited October 23, 2019 by garikfox

Admin nuggethunting Posted September 27, 2019 Admin Report Share Posted September 27, 2019 Hey Garik, Like Adam mentioned, you are right in the middle of the San Domingo gold fields. Learning geology is great, but keep in mind, gold is where you find it! I have found gold nuggets in many places that the textbook geology wouldn't favor. That being said, I would prefer to be in a mineralized belt vs. a non-mineralized belt.

garikfox
Trip has been cancelled due to Oct 4th temps to reach 94F. It "was" going to be 89F. Again I end up being my worst enemy in pre-planning the season to early.

garikfox
I'm back! was awesome! didn't make it too Sando but made it too Cass No. 9 instead. I wanted to walk from claim corner marker to each corner marker but only made it about 200ft from the SE claim marker. The reason was as i was going i just couldn't resist digging up (everything) hot rocks lol. I used the GM1000 today and its seriously sensitive and to be honest i like my EQ800 way better. I didn't find any gold but i did find 2 bird shot and...waaait for it....i found a new friend lol!! And here is my new friend lol!...I named him "ClaimJump" Edited October 5, 2019 by garikfox 1
fishing8046
Garikfox I have to say if you heard the buckshot you will hear gold. The next thing you need to do is get your coil over the gold.

adam
I`m confused Gari, What are you posting and what does it mean? Is this your next target location ? Are you only going to be there for 2 hours? Please explain your post Edited October 10, 2019 by adam
Admin nuggethunting Posted October 10, 2019 Admin Report Share Posted October 10, 2019 Hey Garik, I think that claim, Gene's Dream is on the Black Canyon Wash. There are nuggets there along the Black Canyon, but it's spotty. I would search for old ancient benches or shallow bedrock areas in the bottom and up on the benches.
garikfox
Yep black canyon wash and or bumble bee creek. I will do that thanks Rob Adam. Yes, I post a homemade badge of my next expedition date etc. along with the actual satellite photo of the claim. I'm trying to be creative and add some fun more less. I should be at the claim on Oct 22nd for about 4hrs.

garikfox
Hi GPX Power, about a month ago Pete told me to keep an eye out for a new claim that will show up in the Rye area. So i waited and kept checking LandMatters and bingo! it showed up a week ago. I thought if it was listed it was available. I didn't make it to the claim anyway. garikfox
I'm back everyone, I didn't find anything because i didn't even make it to the destination. But close. I enjoyed myself nonetheless. My girlfriend hated every bit of it, lol. She also slipped and fell on the GM1000, scraped herself up and now the GM1000 wobbles a hair. I wont even go into the complaining I heard about walking up the hills. 🙂 I got there at about 11:30am temp was about 75F. It was VERY close to highway 87. Decent dirt road to the place where we parked. Continuation to the destination needed a ATV which i didn't have. The walk to the destination is about 3750ft. The area seemed not so touched by man sorta speak. was quiet, saw a prospector come out on a ATV and rode past us. I started at the purple box. I ended up at the light blue box. (notice the white turn in the wash, i have a picture) The red box was my actual destination. I think i'm going to get a Honda Pioneer 500. I can't be spending my whole time walking to these claims. 🙂 Here below is what the new area looks like. I'm too new to determine if this location looks good, but i'm guessing it looks good. garikfox
Just a FYI. I emailed Pete from RRPC and got a response about the new claim. The club is waiting for the NOI (Notice of Intent) from the Tonto National Forest before it can be released. So i'll have to wait to go back to the Golden Nickel.
