Hello All, Managed to get out for a short hunt in a new area I have been checking out. After exploring for awhile, I managed to find some old workings and score some nuggets and specimen. Now it's just a matter of getting back and hammer the heck out of this new spot. Eight nuggets and a specimen for just over 9 Dwt's of weight. Here are a few pictures to share.

Hey Border Boy, Great finds. Hard to beat the Coiltek Joey, it's a longtime producer of smaller, shallow gold. There are several small coils that do very well, the Coiltek Joey 10x5, Coiltek 6-inch Round Mono, Minelab 8-inch Round Mono and the new NF 8x6 Mono. They all will find very small gold, down to under a grain in size with the GP or GPX series. Rob Allison

Hey Iron Horse, I have heard of them, but never seen or used one in person. If they are any good, you will see more and more people using them as time goes on. To be perfectly honest, if you're using a Minelab PI now, it's tough to even entertain the idea of using anything else. Just my thoughts, Rob Allison

Hey Hot Rock, Great story, one that everyone should hear. I'm sure you remember the time it happened to us. Thank God I still had that 12v battery jump box under the seat. Without that, we would have been walking 10-15 miles for the nearest help. I used to think, hell it cant be that bad if you got stuck in the hills, but it happened several times to me over the last 10 years I realized it's time to stop acting like it will never happen to me, being a super hero, and get smart about things!! Hey Russ, Well I'm hoping the drywashing in that area will prove out well. It's a real crap shoot in some areas. I've found areas that were loaded with nuggets, majority of them being small. These areas you would think would be loaded with smaller gold, but I never had much luck at them. I'm sure in the right locations drywashing can be very productive and rewarding. I'm sure there are some spots in there the old-timers missed. Most importantly, you get to spend time with your sons out prospecting. There are times I wish I had a brother or even a Father that enjoyed gold mining. Thanks for sharing your pictures and experiences with us. P.S. I have a drywashing story I will post soon. Hey Stevo, Sorry it took a bit to get back with you. I've been out of town for about a week and just trying to catch up on the forum posts. The customer upgraded to a GPX, but he did get the X-Terra 705 bundle package with his purchase. He didn't mention anything about it, but my guess it that it's all includes. I will get with him today/tomorrow to verify, but it should be this - X-Terra 705 Gold Pack Metal Detector Koss UR 30 headphones Control Box Cover Nugget Scoop Gold Nugget for testing (my guess he keeping this one!)
