  1. Hey Glenn, Great hit. Just picking up small ones here on my end. Wishing you much more luck out there.
  2. Only one mistake in the first video, it should have been the Arizona boys testing it .... LOL
  3. You haven't see anything yet .... LOL I'm not saying anymore friends!! Bruce Candy is amazing!!
  4. Hey Jim, Ya, I think Reg, You and I had a great idea on that book. Maybe sometime we can figure it out.
  5. Hey Guys, A lot of hype out there, but looks like this is another jump in Minelab technology. I can't say much either, even though I might know something. I'm excited to see it in person, but a bit scared to see the price tag due to what it might do.
  6. Hey Guys, Ray is a great friend and I'm sure the book will be a big hit. That being said, I'm hoping my books are on the way. Looking forward to another great book for the hobby we all support.
  7. Hey Doc, Great information and thanks for sharing it with us. Wish I could have made the conference this year.
  8. Hey Adam, Yes, Talon got two gold nuggets from the outing. He struggled a bit out of the gate on faint, or very small targets. I spotted a few potential targets with the SDC, he checked them out, realized that is what he needed to listen for and found them. Talon will become a very good nuggetshooter as he is very determined to be successful.
  9. Hey Relichunter, Great information. Heard great things about the coils. That being said, it's tough to stock all these products. You start getting 4-5 manufactures making 10-15 coils, that is a huge amount of coils to keep in stock. Looks like I might have to move to a warehouse ... LOL
  10. Hey Ray, When do we receive shipment? You're selling before your dealers ....
  11. Hey Ddog, Ya, says the page has been suspended. Not sure what that exactly means, but I'm sure Bill is working on getting it back up quickly.
  12. Hello All, This weekend my partner and I conducted field instructions with 5 customers. Several of the customers purchased SDC's from us, a few others had their own metal detectors and wanted training on them. The customer were shocked when my cousin, Chris Gholson of Arizona Outback showed up to greet them. Chris came out this weekend to play around and help with some of the customers. It was a great outing, I think everyone walked away happy and most with a few nuggets to boot. With most detector purchases from us, we include free field training. We also do a all day training with any customer that has a gold hunting metal detector (VLF or PI) on private claims for $300. You keep everything you find and get to hunt all day on good gold bearing claims. Thanks for your help Chris. We all had a great time and most of us found a bit of gold to take home.
  13. Hey Guys, I'm sure the 40% claim is under optimal conditions, which we don't know what that was. I really doubt this unit is going to go 40% deeper over the GPX 5000, even with a larger 14-inch DD Round coil on the GPZ 7000. I would say it's going to get 10-15% more depth over most conditions. Keep in mind, as much as I don't want to dig deeper, in some places just a few inches could make a huge difference. I'm hoping for a much smoother detector (less EMI), as EMI is a huge problem here in the Southwest. There are more and more planes, powerlines, towers and such be placed each year, closing in on the once really open goldfields of the US. We all remember the claims with the GP Extreme came out. 55% deeper on smaller gold and 18% deeper on larger gold at depth over the prior SD series. I know I wasn't getting double the depth on smaller nuggets, but I made a killing picking up dwt sized nuggets at depth on SD patches. Just my thoughts even though I haven't see or used one.
  14. Hey Guys, The owner of the Octave, Beehive and other mines in the area many years ago detoured the road as it crossed the corner of his property. Heavy equipment was going across it, probably one of the reason he decided to re-route the road off of his property. That being said, this new road, same road Dakota Slim is talking about is gated a bit further up.
  15. Hey Guys, We are talking about two spots, so lets not get confused. Paul is talking about the road to Potato Patch, formerly owned by the Culps. The other newest gate is on the road to the Weaver Cemetery, between Decision Corner and the Cemetery. Both enter private land, on top at some point and the new gate, which is right at the boundary of the private land.
  16. Hey Guys, Just a FYI, the area beyond the gate is private property. It's my understanding they are setting up a mining operation, reason for the gate. I recommending contacting the owners for any additional information about access or reason of the gate.
  17. Hey Jim, The field instructions have been a big hit. That being said, I'm getting too many requests, not enough trainers and time to get them all in quickly.
  18. Monsterguppy, Agree, I don't want to dig any deeper. I have dug enough cans, horse shoes, larger nails and other larger iron rubbish at depth. I don't want to dig this crap anymore ....
  19. Hey Fred, What would be your consideration of purchasing this unit from what you know now about it? There isn't enough info right now in my opinion to make a call. If it has the right features, not talking about more depth, but rather better discrimination I will have guys lined up.
  20. Hey Way2cool, I do have one, but it's more setup for the Minelab PI's. The SDC has a waterproof connector, so the headphones are not the same connection. I had the Black Widow's with me, but not the adapter from 1/4 to the SDC waterproof connector. I normally have at least 1-2 extra parts for most items that break in the field. This has saved me from going home a handful of times. Gold Seeker, the guys were using detectors and hand placering the gulch. They have GPX 5000's and SD's.
  21. Hey Guys, Weird, I just received my renewal for my OHV Decal Renewal from the Game and Fish Department. They state don't write the check out to "Arizona Game and Fish Department," but rather sign up through the www.servicearizona.com site like Ron mentioned. I'm sure what the cost is this year. I will probably renew just for the fact a friend got pulled over by the Yavapai Sheriff last year. The Sheriff stated the road he was riding on required a plate, but said since he at least has the OHV decal, he would just give him a warning and told him to stay off the main dirt roads.
  22. Hello All, I have a feeling once the price is introduced on the new GPZ 7000, many will go right back to considering a new GPX 5000. That being said, here is a site that shows some of the info on fake vs. genuine Minelab GPX 5000 metal detectors. Good information for anyone looking to purchase from a non-authorized dealer, buying off Ebay or Craigslist. http://www.goldcitydetecting.com/counterfeitgpx5000.htm There are a lot out there, believe it or not. Rob Allison
  23. Hey Guys, Thanks for the kind words. When I showed up that morning, I didn't have my headphones and it was a bit windy out. I wanted to just head home, but figured I was there I need to give it a whirl. There was at least a half dozen small nugget (grain or under) I pushed around and couldn't locate them due to the windy conditions. Steve - Ya, we talked about this spot a night or so prior. I didn't guess I would round up another 3 dwts from this spot, but then again the detector is amazing. Mike - There are a few deep spots, so the GPZ might get lucky here at some point. Majority of the area is shallow, one reason I'm using the SDC. Tom - It's actually not the way they are working it, it's the technology of the SDC able to target this type of gold much better. The larger pieces, over 1 Dwt each don't sound off very well at all on the GPX, but scream on my SDC 2300. Using the right detector for the right type of gold is the key in some spots. The gold is very crystalline in this areas and even rocky and porous.
