  1. Hello All, I have started to list the used and discontinued items I have available. Here are some to view, will have more listed soon. http://www.robsdetectors.com/used-products?pagesize=12
  2. Hey Guys, Managed to get out for about 4 hours this afternoon. The weather was actually pretty nice, cloud cover and a slight breeze. Managed to dig a bunch of trash in some new area, but also scored 4 nuggets. Three small ones that added up to .6 Dwt's, the largest was the fourth nugget at 1.6 Dwt's. Total at the end of the day was 2.2 Dwt's. I was able to eat a McDonald's meal after finding those ..... LOL Thought you might enjoy. Rob Allison
  3. Hey Guys, Very nice work out there. I managed to get out this afternoon for about 4 hours and snagged 4 nuggets, biggest was a 1.6 Dwter. Wishing you guys much more luck at that spot.
  4. Hey Largo, You would be surprised on how many have tried to cash in on this deal that were not Veterans. I had several the last time Minelab offered this program for a limited time during Veteran's Day. Both of them were fraudulent and they were both on the highest priced detector. I have had several in the last month cash in on this new program and I had to submit the information to be validated. I couldn't honestly say how they validate them, they must have some type of resource as they caught the ones prior. This offer can be used on any Minelab metal detector or item.
  5. Hello Gary & Gary, Yes, it's a great thing from Minelab. Like I mentioned earlier in this post, there is some criteria that has to be met before you can get the discount. You must have a valid Military ID to even be considered. The number I believe has to be validated also.
  6. Hello All, I will be best my unit within the next day or so ...... I will let you know what I think and will do my best to get some new video's of the unit online with pictures.
  7. Hey Fred, You could be correct, but there was Indian writing nearby, so figured, if moved, it wasn't moved far from the original location.
  8. Hello All, Out detecting for gold nuggets today I ran across this Indian Metate laying on the ground. It was up out of the wash bottom and just happened to look to my left and seen it. A metate (or mealing stone) is a mortar, a ground stone tool used for processing grain and seeds. In traditional Mesoamerican culture, metates were typically used by women who would grind calcified maize and other organic materials during food preparation (e.g., making tortillas). Under a protection law, these type of artifacts are not to be removed. After looking around a bit, I discovered two small drawings on the rocks not far away. Even though I didn't find any gold nuggets, plenty of bullets, this find was much more valuable to me. I search all over for the grinding stone (Mano), but was unable to find it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Out exploring today I ran across this dead Gila Monster in the bottom of a wash bottom. I see a lot of people messing with these Lizards, not really understanding the teeth and jaw power they possess. Take a gander at the razor sharp teeth in the second picture. Now you want those clamped down on your fingers or hand? The poisonous venom from the Gila Monster is very similar to the Coral Snake. That being said, there hasn't been a recorded death from an Adult that I could find on the Internet. If you seen one in the wild, take pictures, watch it, but then leave it alone. I have been updating my Facebook page more often then the forums. If you get a chance, "Like" our "Rob's Detector Sales" Facebook page and see more updated information. Hope you enjoyed.
  9. Hey Hendo, Have to agree with Doc, it works great with all Minelab PI's. I think since it's a small coil that is going to give you best results on small gold near the surface, the GPX series with their added sensitivity and other fine tune adjustments just get more out of the coil. Many friends are using them on non-GPX type detectors with great results. We sell a bunch of them as the small coils are great for small gold, surface hunting and working in tight spots. Hope this helps a bit,
  10. Hey Lucky, Great finds on Father's Day. I told myself I was going to get out this weekend, but never managed to do it. Congrats on the finds! On another note, had a gold scale just like yours for years. That was one of my favorite scales and pretty much wore it out. I see you have just about wore the power button off the damn thing. That being said, with all the nuggets your finding, just leave the power on!
  11. Hey Doc, I must agree, I get many calls, especially during the winter months about field instructions and help with GPX detectors. It's amazing how many dealers don't give support and really understand what they are even selling. The DVD's are great, but they can't carry and watch (for the most part) them in the field. The "timing sticker" has always been a great help for many to give them a good idea what timings are best for the ground they are working on. The new field help cards will be a plus. Make sure you have a bunch going my way ASAP. Great idea as always DOC!
  12. Hey Chris, Great information. I had a similar experience with one of my GPX 5000's as it got real noisy one day. I decided to resent all settings back to default and it really made the detector quiet again. I re-adjusted the detector back to the settings I like and it was stable. It's worth giving it a whirl if you're GPX gets funny.
  13. Hey Yukon Lewis, What metal detector are you using? Congrats on the finds, wishing you much more success in the Yukon.
  14. Hey ET, Excellent. Like Oakview mentioned, you're probably on a patch. Keep us updated if you would. Wishing you much more success at that location. Rob Allison
  15. Hey AZNuggetBob, Yep, I know that. I was just trying to be funny. I know a bunch of guys that are killing it, but they won't post anything on the forums. They know the routine that some can't find gold, so they are just looking for someone to slip up and post something that someone might have seen or attach a picture with GPS coords or something along those lines. A lot of gold being found, more than you would expect, but a good majority want no part of posting their finds. I completely understand.
  16. Hey Guys, None of the nuggets were in cracks, but laying on top of the bedrock. Most were only a few inches deep under the reddish soil. Didn't see any snakes this weekend, probably too hot and I was working more open areas with minimal brush around.
  17. Rob, my wife and I visited our Daughter in Oroville,Ca., this past week, and my good friend Lucky gave me a little help. Each picture came from a different place. Most of the gold is small, but it was a great time. The last day out, I found the two largest nuggets. It was 101 degrees, but it seemed cooler after finding those two. Would you please post for me. Thanks. Silver Dog
  18. Hello All, No big story behind the finds, just the fact I managed to escape and do a bit of hunting this morning before it got too hot here in Arizona. Was using the Minelab GPX 5000 on an old patch that still seems to give up a few nuggets here and there for the methodical prospector. Great feeling finding some gold when you've been so wound up with work, business and other stressful things in life. Biggest nugget is 4.1 Dwt's, others are just dinks. Have a great weekend friends! Rob Allison
  19. Hey Steve, As always, a great write-up on the Minelab SDC 2300. Can't wait to get one on some spots I know there is a lot of very small gold (1-5 grain) size all over a hillside. Keep us updated if you test anymore soon. Thanks!!
  20. Hello, I read and heard about the story. Sad that someone has to steal a part of history and something that people enjoy to see in a museum. That being said, where do they come up with a 7 ounce solid gold nugget valued at $30,000? I have a friend that is trying to sell a solid 21 ouncer from Arizona for $30,000. It's always funny how people think (not saying they cant) get these crazy premium prices for gold. If someone can get $30K for a 7 ouncer that is great, but I can buy all the solid 7 ounces I could afford for $10-12K at the most. I'm sure it's make a great headline and story for the most part. Just my thoughts.
  21. Hey Guys, I'm glad some guys are still posting their finds for encouragement. I decided I'm only going to post one ounce and under .... LOL
  22. Hey CabelaFella, Congrats on the nugget patch. That is one awesome find. Hope you find some other patches in the nearby area. Thanks for the business also, we appreciate it!
  23. Hello All, Here is a shot of nuggets I took several years ago working an area with shallow bedrock. Pictured is around 6 ounces of Arizona gold nuggets found with the Minelab GPX 5000's. Several partners and I were working the location. The wash was loaded with trash from the old-timers, but some good nuggets were left behind in the cracks and crevices if you had the patience to dig through all the rubbish. I'm hoping to find a pile of small ones with the new Minelab SDC 2300 soon to be released. It might take 5-6 times the nuggets to get the weight, but we all know there are a lot more smaller nuggets than larger.
  24. Hey Guys, What I have been told directly from Minelab is the customer must provide Military ID that can be verified. Minelab has stepped up big to the plate on this discount for retired and active duty Military Men and Women. No other manufacture out there is honoring such a deal.
