Most probably know Jim as a icon in this hobby of gold prospecting. Jim has been a great friend and mentor of mine. Without Jim's help back in the day, I wouldn't be where I am now. God Bless you Jim, I will truly miss you! Your friend and Brother in Christ, Rob Allison

Terry Soloman
Very sad news. Jim was such a help to me when I started my business, and was always there to help. Rest in peace brother Jim. 😪
BrownNugget
I had the opportunity to talk to him and he signed my book 3 hours to gold. I didn’t realize his impact until I really started to research who he was and the impact he had on the hobby. RIP Mr. Straight😢
Reno Chris
I last saw and spoke with Jim a bit over a year ago. He spent several hours on both Saturday and Sunday in the ICMJ booth with me at the Pomona GPAA show. He was a good man and wrote many articles for the ICMJ. It is sad to see him go. Old Tom
I never met Jim but feel rather close in fellowship with Christ. The world has lost another great soul. I hope we can carry on in his example. You will be missed Brother. Old Tom
