  1. Hey Chuck, I actually know several guys that purchased the GPX 4800's that are doing well chasing gold with them. Both of them don't get on the forums much, let alone post pictures. I think if Minelab would have released the GPX 4800 on the original release date we would have seen more finding gold with it. The GPX 4500 was out for a long stretch and the GPX 4800 was the next in line. Some would have invested in the GPX 4800, but since both the 4800 & 5000 got released at the same time, majority jumped into the GPX 5000 knowing it had more features and an extra coil. For the price of $3995.00, it's pretty hard to beat a great PI for that. The special is only running for the month of March, so if anyone is on the fence, this might be the time to jump in the game.

  4. Hello All, Today a partner and I went back to a wash we hit hard and found several ounces of gold in with the Minelab GPX 5000's. I figured I would play around with the Fisher GB2 on the exposed bedrock areas and ended up with 5 smaller nuggets. The two smallest ones were under a grain in size. Had a good time just dinking around with the GB2 metal detector. It's out there .....
  5. Hey Tom, Great story and it's great you were able to get Alwaysdirty over a nugget also. Wishing you much more continued luck.
  6. Hello All, Just wanted to know if anyone is testing the new Minelab SDC 2300 Metal Detector? Just asking .....
  7. Hey Ray, You're always getting out there and kicking butt! Thanks for posting your finds and the pictures. They are always great to see, especially when you can't get out there a chase gold for any reason. Hope to see more pictures and stories in the near future. It's raining like "Cat's and Dog's" here now.
  8. Hello All, I have Dawn too busy packing and taking orders to watch the forums ..... LOL She wanted me to post a big "Thank You" for all the Birthday wishes.
  9. Hey Chuck, Competition is always good, as it keep the price down on most products not allowing one manufacture to own and control the market. That being said, making money off coils is not 100% accurate. When there was one aftermarket company making coils, the profit margins were much higher for dealers. Now with many searchcoil makers, they are all fighting to have the best coils, allowing prices to drop and that also reflects a bit portion of our profits as dealers. Unless you're moving 1,000's of coils, there is small profits in searchcoil sales in my opinion. What you want to look for in a searchcoil purchase is the following - Not the hype on the forums, but rather proof of the performance. Keep in mind, a one or two time use don't show the long term durability of a coil. Reliability, customer service and most importantly the warranty. Most Searchcoils warranties are 2 years. When you see a 2 year warranty on a product, especially a product we all know we bang around, drop, and whatever else, 2 years is huge in my book!If you have a warranty issue, can you get a coil quickly as a replacement or do you have to wait for one to arrive from Australia or to be made? I've seen customers wait months for a warranty replacement coil, not good business in my eyes!Just some fact to know when purchasing a coil for any manufacture. Do you do-diligence and make sure you're purchasing the right coil, not just reading into the hype of someone selling it. That being said, I'm always looking to see new products hit the market and wishing them the best of success in all marketplaces.
  10. Hey Slayer, Congrats on the recent finds. As you play around more with the GPX 5000 and the hundreds of setting combinations, you will find it's a very powerful detector. I'm always playing with settings and finding out how it does better on certain types of gold in certain settings, which can make a difference on getting more depth or better sensitivity to the small ones (the beans and bacon of metal detecting for gold). Thanks once again for your business and continued friendship. Wishing you the greatest amount of success! Keep us updated!
  11. Hey Chris, Great pictures and finds. I know Gold Basin is getting much harder to find meteorites and gold. The Meteorite Strewn field really brought a lot of attention to the area, so a lot of the easy gold got plucked out along with that. While several guys I know were searching hard-core for meteorites on the flats found some pretty nice patches of gold nuggets. Thanks for all your business and friendship over the years. P.S. Chris just purchased a brand new Eureka Gold from us and wants to upgrade to a PI, so it up for sale on the forums here if you want a like-new Eureka Gold, pretty much full warranty and I will toss in support to the new owner, it's a great way to save $200-$300 from a new one at $1049.00.
  12. Hey Chuck, I think you're talking about the PulseMate coil if I'm correct. Don't know anyone using them. They could be great, I know they had a rocky start with coils, but I heard they are much better. Searchcoil market is a touch one as there are many companies making coils beyond the known and highly recognized ones such as Minelab, Coiltek and Nuggetfinder.
  13. Hey Guys, I've been telling guys since the DetectorPro Black Widow's came out, how great they were. Everyone said the Koss UR-30's are just as good. Well as I was plucking nuggets from the old patches with the better audio .... Hhehe..
  14. Hey Chuck, That is correct. We are offering the same type of training on the Garrett ATX or new SDC 2300 in the field. This is only right now for detector purchases through us. We are swamped with field instructions from customer purchasing elsewhere, so right now I'm going to keep the ATX and SDC training on detectors from Rob's Detector Sales. Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  15. Hey Doc, I wish you would quite going out of business ... It makes it difficult to get products on time. Doc is still in business and going strong. Doc has not only been a long time friend, but the best Distributor one could have for products. There are times when I'm out of products and Doc can get them out the next morning and the customer is happy. Thanks for always being there Doc!!
  16. Hey Alwaysdirty, Congrats on your first nugget find. That is a great group of guys you're prospecting with. It always seems as if the first is a confidence booster, so now the 2nd, 3rd and such should come much quicker. Hope to see those nuggets posted on the forums soon enough. Good luck, Rob Allison
  17. Hello All, Chuck, I think it was a huge mistake for Minelab to discontinue the SD V2 range of metal detectors and addressed it many times with them at the conferences. I would get the same answers, they have a reason for it and the fact the parts were getting hard to get for older model detectors. If I remember correctly, the Minelab 2100v2 was down below $2000 when they discontinued it. These units were flying off the shelf here at that price. We mentioned the new Minelab SDC 2300 will have a new technology, not the conventional MPS like the Garrettt ATX, but rather MP + F, or Multi-Pulse Fast Technology. From what I'm hearing is this is going to allow the detector to be much more sensitive to very small targets with the 8-inch round coil and also still maintain the great mineral immunity. Really until someone gets one in their hands, it's kind of a guessing game on exactly what it can and cant do. The price has bounced back and forth and I do believe it will be in the mid $3000 range. This could be a concern if there are no great technology advancements with the SDC 2300. On another note, Lunk and I had a great long conversation about the Garrett ATX. We both agreed there are some places that are loaded with magnetite the ATX seems to do better in. We also had a lot of conversations about potentially missing larger gold at depth with the ATX over the GPX. I guess there is no perfect detector, but rather a combination of several detectors to cover all bases.
  18. Hello All, Just a heads up, as it's been very difficult for us to keep the Garrett ATX metal detectors in stock. We just received another good batch of them this week. We don't expect to have them in stock long, so if you or anyone else is looking, we have them currently in stock and selling for $2120.75, which also includes free Shipping, Insurance and Training. How to purchase - Online store - www.robsdetectors.com Phone orders - 623.362.1459 Questions, use this forum post or email us at - rob@robsdetectors.com Thanks! Rob Allison
  19. Hey Chuck, We have to do something, the next flagship Minelab detector won't be available for several years with that new technology if you do the research, so during that time I will experiment with the SDC, some of my VLF's, the ATX and for the most part behind my GPX. P.S. Just for the record, the flagship GPX or whatever never came out in 2013, so all the haters that said "your the dealer that don't want to tell me, but rather try to sell me a GPX" can eat their words. I guess I'm right once again ... LOL
  20. Hey Olaf, There are a lot of Arizona members here on the forums. Hopefully someone will post a reply to you. I'm located in the Surprise, AZ area. Welcome to the forums my friend!
  21. Already have a few inquries, but not sold yet. Don't expect it to stay around long as this is one of the units including the 3500 that most like to mod at some point for more performance. I will have it today at the show, first come first serve on it. Thanks!!!
  22. Hey Guys, Well I got the opportunity to talk with someone I believe is in the know and learned a bit more about this detector. I must admit, I wasn't overly excited hearing it was just a MPS detector. That being said, I heard it's new technology, but MPF, or Multi-Pulse Fast Technology, which is something new designed, not the same MPS that I thought. Now this is "hear say," but from a reliable source, so it will be interesting to see when the unit actually gets out. I heard it's going to kill small gold and yes it does have a 8-inch coil. I guess if you have a PI that was like a GB2 on small gold and a GPX, then you would be set. However, that would also mean like a $10,000 budget .... yikes!! Only time will really tell.
  23. Hello All, I'm here currently at the Quartzsite Gold and Treasure Show. Today we received a very well conditioned Minelab GP3000 as a trade-in. The detector comes with all stock accessories, 3 searchcoils (Minelab stock 11-inch Round, Coiltek Wallaby 17x11 DD Pro & Joey 10x5), several power cords, harness, several batteries, all hardware and more. I'm asking $2200.00 firm for this unit. Been tested and it works great. Great price for the condition and extras you will get with the package. Contact us at 623.362.1450 or email at - rob@robsdetectors.com if you're interested. Thanks!
