  1. Hello Gary, I sent you a PM on them. I have them in stock at all times. It's a great book for anyone looking to head to the Australian Outback. Tons of color pictures .... and a wealth of information in general. I can meet you one day this week if you want to take a gander at it. Rob Allison
  2. Hey Guys, I don't want everything to think it's "K," cause I didn't say a dealers name, nor do I know the exact dealer. I just heard about it and figured it was a pretty true story. I think it's a bit unfair to other dealers and customers, but it's said and done. I heard the dealer got most of the money up front before Minelab would allow such an order to ship. As for the GPX-5000, if they call it that, I doubt we will see it anytime soon. As long as there are backoders on the GPX-4500's I don't see anything new coming out. However, once the rush stops and the detectors are available again, it could happen at that time. I'm curious what a new detector will have ... Rob Allison
  3. Hey Guys, It's not so much about what dealer, it's just the fact that someone got so many and locals had to wait. I know there is a lot going on as far as getting detectors built and shipped to the US, but my allocations have gotten cut back a bit, so some customers are not happy. It's not my fault, I have no control over what is shipped to me. I can only hope the production gets bumped up. There now is a mad rush for Coiltek coils. It going to be the same thing as the GPX-4500's. However, Trev @ Coiltek and Doc have a good handle on this. They will not allow the local customers to wait. Take care, Rob Allison
  4. Hey Jesse, Thanks for the business. Wishing you the best of luck up in Northern Nevada. It's a great place to chase gold nuggets. Report back to us when you return from your trip. Rob Allison
  5. Hello Dean and All, I got word about a month ago that a dealer here in the US sold 200 Minelab GPX-4500's. Do you think this dealers interest was with you or any other local customer? I seriously doubt it ... it was all about making a huge sale, collecting 2-3 times the value of the detector and making local customers wait longer for their GPX-4500. Could you imgine if those 200 detectors were spread around to other dealers how many local guys that have been waiting for many months would have a detector. I would be lying if I told you I didn't sell to a customer that I knew was probaboy going to resale it, but the way I do it is 3/4's if not more of my allocations will go to local customers, the remaining to customers that are going to send their unit to Dubia or Sudan. Take care, Rob Allison
  6. Hey Fred, During that time I was using the Coiltek 14-inch solid round mono, one of my favorite all time coils. I was also using the Wallaby DD Pro and Mono at that time. I used the Wallaby DD Pro in heavy mineralized areas and the mono's in areas where the mineralization was low to moderate. My favorite all time coil now is the Goldstalker 14-inch elliptical and the new coil I'm testing. Hope this helps, Rob Allison
  7. Hey Reno Chris, It's my understanding that most of the GPX-4500 parts are on halt for now. This does not mean customers will not get their coils, batteries and carry bags from the promo that ended Jan. 15th. It just means from what I understood that dealers will not be getting any of the GPX-4500 parts or accessories anytime soon due to these fake GPX-4500's being made. Whoever is making them are ordering larger quanities of GPX-4500 parts from dealers and then probably having them put together. Chris, get this - A lady called me about two weeks ago and wanted to know if I wanted to purchase a large batch of GPX-4500's. I told her I was in the business to sell them, not to purchase them back. Out of curiousity, I asked her where she got them? She said she purchased a larger order from China! I mentioned to her that Minelab metal detectors are not manufactured or sold out of China. Long story short, this lady purchased 20 GPX-4500's that were fake and spent over $5000 per unit on them. You can only imagine how much she lost and when I told her she might want to look into these fake ones, I think her heart dropped out on the phone. This was probably some honest lady trying to make a buck by selling them to Sudan or such, but not knowing any better purchased from a non-Authorized dealer and got burned big time!!! Talk with you later, Rob Allison
  8. Hey Mike, I loved my GP Extreme also. I've said this many times in the past, but to this very date I have found my biggest nuggets & specimens with the GP Extreme. Was the GP Extreme better? I can't say it was better, cause I believe the newer models have more features and things you can do that the Exteme couldn't, but it was the first GP detector and I was able to get back to all my old SD patches and find a lot of gold I missed. I don't know if you recall, but Minelab claimed the GP Extreme was getting 55% depth on smaller gold and 18% better depth on larger pieces. There was no doubt the smaller gold was an accurate statment, but the larger nuggets has always been a debate, even today. Glad you enjoyed. Rob Allison
  9. Hello All, A guy on the forum sent this over to me about a week ago. I haven't seen this ad in years, but thought it was funny. This was back when the GP Extreme was "King." I found a couple of small nuggets during that time, some I never shown to the public. I figured I would show the hole since a friend sent over the picture of the ad. Minelab GP Extreme Metal Detector, Coitek 14-inch Solid Round Mono Searchcoil, 28-inches deep .... How many guys walked over it before? Good times .... Rob Allison
  10. Hey Mike, Thanks for posting this. It's very unfortunate to hear something like this. I find places like the AZ Mineral Museum great places for children, youth and adults to learn about minerals, how they are found, mined and used. Remember the old saying, "If it's not grown, then it's mined!" Take care, Rob Allison
  11. Hey Redbeard, The Li-Ion 7800 or older 5400mah batteries will go bad eventually. Either they will just wear out or develop bad cells. I've had some of these batteries last a couple of years, but I kept them charged and rotated several batteries. The new Li-Ion batteries are 6600mah, but heard they last almost as long and have a longer overall life. Everyone I know that has purchased them seems to like them better. I'm hoping the new GPX-4500 Li-Ion System has this same battery. Doh, did I say that ... Rob Allison
  12. Hey Sawmill, Thanks for the kind words and sorry to hear about your 4500 deal that is still going. I remember from time to time reading about it, but figured you had it taken care of. What I don't understand is how the Minelab Repair Dept. can be so Topsy-Turvy! I know customers that have had great repair service, but then again some that have the worst and still battling with them. I can't answer for Minelab, but find it mind-boggling to say the least. Great to hear Doc stepped in and hopefully got something settled. As for the small dealer, you will hear more about this. I think this whole Sudan rush has placed some small dealers in the corner with no detectors available. When you rely on selling products, but can't get them from the manufacture I can see how that can hurt a business. Some dealers are going head over heals making huge backorders, but will soon find out that this window is going close quickly. I personally don't want to be caught with hundreds of detectors that I will struggle to sell. Take care, Rob Allison
  13. Hello Terry, I agree with you 110%. When I met with Clay and Ruby they shared the same passion I have when it comes to gold prospecting, metal detecting and research. What's great about this product also is the fact they have a site for tech support 24/7 for anyone that has internet access. As I become much more knowledgeable, I will be able to help customers also from my forum, email or phone along with Clay and Ruby. Always great talking with you Terry. Pass the word around if you would. P.S. Anyone that purchase a Minelab Metal Detector will also get one of these Footprint DVD's for free. Take care, Rob Allison
  14. Hello Nuggetslayer, Good to hear you found one nice nugget with the new coil. Here are some finds we recently turned up with the new Goldstalker coil. All of them were found using the new coil and a Minelab GPX-4500. Some of the nuggets could have been found with a coil similar in size, such as the popular 14-inch elliptical, but several of the larger ones were deep and just a whisper. Take care, Rob Allison

Greaterville, AZ Footprint - New The Greaterville FootPrint covers approximately 72 square miles, centered around the historic town of Greaterville in the Santa Rita Mountains, southeast of Tucson, Arizona. The map extent runs East to Hwy 83, south almost to Sonoita, North to Sycamore Canyon and West to the head of Fish Canyon. The Greaterville area has a long and storied history of placer & hard rock mining. Placer mining has been done largely by small miners at first with rocker boxes and more recently with metal detectors. A large scale placer operation was attempted by the Santa Rita Water & Mining Company in the early 1900's. Their headquarters is now a Forest Service Heritage Site known as Kentucky Camp. Most of the land in this area is now part of the Coronado National Forest. However, it was not always that way. In the early 1900's most of the land became patented. The Santa Rita Water & Mining company held the patents on about 3,000 acres of the best placer ground in the area. The company failed and the patented land remained in private hands until 1989 when the land was acquired by the US Forest Service through a land swap. This FootPrint includes all the standard map layers plus several unique layers pertaining to Geology. The geology is mapped at 1:24,000 around the major gold-bearing gulches showing faults and hard rock intrusions. We have created a unique layer mapping the historic placer gulches and their extents, identifying them by name and detailing where the gold was found in each gulch. Several in-depth geologic studies have been done on this area and the full reports are included as pdf documents. Rich Hill/Stanton AZ Footprint- New The Rich Hill FootPrint covers approximately 52 square miles, centered around Stanton at the base of Rich Hill. The extent includes almost the full reach of Antelope and Weaver Creeks and the lands northwest of Stanton up to Yarnell. This FootPrint includes all standard map layers. Plus for the first time we have added a Patents layer. This layer maps all Patents granted in the area, their authority and their mineral reservations. Copies of the original Patents are included. Rich Hill is famous for the quality and quantity of gold that has been found in its vicinity. The drainages surrounding Rich Hill are the legendary Weaver and Antelope creeks that have been the source of successful placering operations for a century or more. These placers are still actively worked today by prospectors with metal detectors, drywashers, and even on a much larger scale with trommels and backhoes. Vulture West FootPrint Includes the Historic Vulture Gold Mine! Located just 7 miles South of Wickenburg, Arizona 8 Mining Club Claims Over 60 square miles at 9 inch resolution. More than 20 interactive map layers including: High Resolution Orthos Topography Shaded Elevations Placer and Lode Claims Land Ownership Hydrology Including: Local Mining History Local Lodging, Camping and Dining. Gold Basin Footprint- New The Gold Basin FootPrint maps almost 200 square miles, covering the Gold Basin and Lost Basin mining districts in northwestern Arizona. This area is perfect for a week long prospecting trip. It's less than a two hour drive across the Colorado River from Las Vegas, NV. Day trips to Lake Mead or the Franconia strewn field to look for meteorites are well worth the time. The placers in this area were not heavily worked until the 1930's and they have only been worked on a small scale ever since. The area is relatively remote with the small towns of Meadview and Dolan Springs being the closest settlements. Northern Bradshaw Mountain Footprint- New In the cool pines of the North Bradshaw Mountains this FootPrint covers more than 200 square miles of the most productive gold districts in Arizona. Including the famous mining districts of Lynx Creek, Big Bug, Walker, Groom Creek and the Upper Hassayampa this FootPrint is the most comprehensive map of the North Bradshaws ever made available to prospectors. The North Bradshaw FootPrint encompasses an area that includes parts of Prescott in the Northwest all the way to Mayer in the Southeast. Included is the public prospecting area of the famous Lynx Creek basin. We have never mapped an area with such a high production of gold. Historically the placers of this region are the most productive in the Southwest. All Footprint programs are $70.00 each, plus Shipping & Handling. 16. Hey Grubstake, Thanks for the update about Don. If anyone is looking for the extra long upper metal shafts, I do have them in stock. Hopefully Don will be able to access the forums soon. Rob Allison
  17. Hey Chris and All, Yep, have plenty of your books in stock and they are selling well. If anyone that don't have one yet, give me a call and I will get one off to you. The Minelab detector deal is ....... Most of the gold detectors are on backorder. Luckily, I don't rely on selling detectors to put food on the table or I would be in bad shape. I know many of the smaller dealers have called and questioned why I might be getting more metal detectors than they are and faster. Well, I don't have all the answers besides my backorders are probably 10x what their's are. There are a lot of rumors about what is slowing down the production of Minelab detectors. Some rumors are no parts, bad units, not enough help, movement of manufacturing plants .... I do know there are a bunch of fake GPX-4500's (4500d's) floating around. Make sure you're buying from an Authorized Minelab Dealer, not someone just selling detectors. Take care, Rob Allison
  18. Hey Lucky and Co., Thanks for the honest reports. This is exactly what we are looking for on the new coil. If you would, please try different settings and different detectors if you would. I know I'm have going results with this coil on the GPX-4500, but I don't have any older detectors at this time to test it with (SD or GP units). Hope to see some gold posted soon. Rob Allison
  19. Hello Clay, I finally got to meet Clay and his Wife yesterday. We spent a couple of hours catching up on things and talking about this new, awesome program they have developed. I must say, "Footprints" is one of the best, user friendly programs I have used. I'm not going to compare it to others (not fair), but this is the best I have seen. This program will be excellent for anyone searching for gold and wanting to know about the status of the claims in the area. Right now there are three Footprints, one of Little San Domingo, Vulture West and Black Canyon. I have dabbled a little bit with each program last night and was very excited. I now can do all my research from home and don't even need an internet connection to use this program. You can use this program anywhere you might have a PC or laptop. You can be out in the field and run this program along with a GPS. I can't say enough about it besides I will be the one handling all the sales. Clay and his Wife have plans to cover a good portion of Arizona and hit Nevada, New Mexico and other Southwestern States. I really encourage everyone to take a look at this program. I've been in claim research for many .... many years and have yet to see something like this. This is only the beginning, so we need customers to use them and give any type of feedback if they don't see something (I doubt they will). I will post more on this, just too much to say about it. If you have questions, feel free to post them here and we can talk about it. P.S. Welcome to the forums! Rob Allison
  20. Hey Guys, When the forum got switched over they didn't move the file that contained the avatars and pictures. I will do my best to get this back, but in the meantime I will re-post the nugget pictures. Thanks, Rob Allison
  21. Hello Redbeard, The batteries can get a bad cell and go bad, but it might be as simple as a trip circuit. You normally won't experience this with the gpx system, but you will with the sd/gp one if you turn the unit on out of order. To reset the batteries, do exactly what NuggetBob stated. Place the tripped battery back on the charger for about a minutes time to reset it. Hope this helps. There are some newer batteries I have now that are better.
  22. Hey Sandtrap, you're welcome! Thanks once again for the business.
  23. Hey All, I just posted a picture. Can't see why you cant. Will look into it. Just another thing .... ahhhaaa
  24. Hey Guys, The entire website and forums have been moved over to another hosting company (Thanks Rod). I have noticed a huge difference in speed now since I changed over. I'm still working with the forum company (Invision boards) to make sure everything is correct since I switched. If you're still having problems let me know. However, it seems much better now. Rob Allison
