Hello All, The forums have been pretty slow, so I thought I would post this picture from about 10 years ago. A friend and long time customer from around the Kingman area had a few claims in the famous La Paz placer district, now owned by the CRIT (Colorado River Indian Tribes). We took some great nuggets and placer gold from this claim in several years time, but the Indian's were trying to push my friend out. Every year the BLM was pressuring my friend with much higher BLM fees, which I believe the Indian's were placing pressure on the BLM to get everyone that was Grandfathered out. Majority of the claim owners in the region were already gone, my friend was one of the last besides the Goodman Mine. I figured we only had a limited amount of time and we all were on tight budgets. We were able to scramble up a old backhoe from the Quartzsite region in hopes of getting down deeper below the caliche layers. As you can see the Backhoe wasn't in the greatest shape, but it worked. Unfortunately were were limited on the depth we could reach and pressured by time. We managed to hit a few nice pockets of placer gold deep on bedrock, but due to faulty equipment, low budgets and time, the claim ended up going back to the CRIT tribes. I still know where there are many pounds of gold if we could get the claim back and bring in a good piece of equipment that would reach 20-25 foot to bedrock in the better spots. There was a nugget up creek in this area that was 37 ounces solid. I know there was some lumps on these claims, but we were a "day late and a dollar short!" Hope you enjoyed.

Hey Doc, AMRA's a great organization for us miners/prospectors. We have to keep up the fight to protect our rights to prospect and mine. Hopefully with Trump in office, some of the EPA and other regulations will drop off. Would love to see dredgers back in the water here in the US.

Hello All, I don't think I posted these pictures yet, as I have been so damn busy on my end. That being said, here are a few pictures of recent hunts working some old ground that is not too far from home. I spent about 3-4 hours on several old patches that I have worked for years. Everything found was pretty deep, only one trash target that was missed from prior years of working the patch beyond the deep nuggets.

Hey Guys, When it comes to the GPZ 7000, I run normally around 10-12 depending on the ground and have dug very tiny, medium and some decent nuggets at various depths I know the GPX missed with an equivalent searchcoil size. I haven't tried pushing the GPZ passed about 12, but I do know some are running 15+ and dealing with the noise.

Hey Steve, I have to agree with you that the Fisher Goldbug 2 struggles on high mineralization, at least here in Arizona. That being said, on low to even moderate mineralization it's a "beast" on small gold and specimens with very low gold content (mine dump stuff). I think on more mineralized soil the Gold Monster will win at 45khz. I think I would rather have the ability to work in a bit higher mineralization and get a bit more depth than chase dinks all day.

Hey Guys, I have heard the White's pinpointer is good, but haven't used it, nor do I carry White's products. I do agree with Nevada Brian, the older Black Garrett Pinpointer is very good. I normally would turn my detector off while using any pinpointer.

Hey Steve, Great write up on the Gold Monster 1000. I'm still curious why Minelab announces a release date worldwide for May 8th, 2017, but the US being one of the biggest market has none on the release ...... I couldn't tell you how many emails and phone calls I have received asking why I don't have any yet!

Hey Guys, It's been a long process, but I believe we have increased all users on the forum to a much larger upload. Before it was limited to like 5mb, but I think we increased it to 250mg, so you shouldn't have to delete old pictures much. Hey Jen, Ya, they are really nice. I'm surprised something like this wasn't released from Minelab 10 years ago ..... What most don't know by the picture is you can use either the small battery included in the kit, or the original stock GPX battery. Both batteries can be used on this control box cover. Hey Guys, A lot of good pinpointers on the market, just depends on what features and applications you're using it for. I have to agree, sure seems like the Garrett Pro-pointer (Orange one) is the best for small gold nuggets. The prior version which we also sell is also very sensitive, probably the same (non waterproof). I sell 4 of these Garrett pinpointers to 1 Minelab Pro-Find. The Minelab is slightly less sensitive to small gold nuggets and is a bit more expensive. I also have the Makro pinpointer that is very popular for the coin/relic hunters. I have the new XP, but out of stock on them right now. I sold them all, so I didn't have a chance to play with it on small targets like gold nuggets.
