  4. Hey Tom, I still have it, trying to figure out if I want to bust it up or not. Here is a picture, very hard to see the visible gold on the outside, most of it is showing in the "boxworks" or vugs. Found it with the GPZ down about a foot or so. Dug around it, thinking it was a target below the rock. The quartz was covered with clay, didn't even realize it was quartz until I moved it out of the hole.
  5. Hey SGH, The Fisher Goldbug Pro will work well. Due to the smaller stock coil, if you're using just that one, you might want to target the shallow spots and any exposed bedrock. Also search for any evidence of placering such as handstacking, drywash piles and such. These could be good indicators that placer gold (potentially nuggets) might be nearby.
  6. Hey Shep, Great looking stuff once it's slabbed up. I have a huge piece of quartz here I'm considered slabbing up, but it's so damn big it might be hard to get under a saw. Congrats on your recent Q find. Now get your Brother over one of those!
  7. Hello All, I must say it's been crazy busy on my end the last couple months with the business and getting ready for Christmas. Despite the crazy times, like everyone, I needed a bit of stress relief and managed to escape a few hours when I could for some short hunts. Swinging the metal detect in the Arizona deserts really allows me to relax and get all the daily stress from the business/work/home life off my mind for a bit. The gold is truly a bonus, but sure nice to find at least a small piece. That all being said, I've target an area under an old rotten vein that has produced some nuggets in the past. Figured it's an old area, no one knows about it and the ground is pretty nasty. After 3 short trips on this ground, I've been able to snag around 15 Grams of gold, including a huge piece of quartz (shown prior, approx. 50-70lbs). Here are a few pictures, but not all the gold is shown. The nugget shown in my hand was 6.5 Grams, really great character once it was cleaned. It shows some nice crystalline pattern. The nugget was found at 16-inches and was just a faint whisper on the GPZ. Approx. 10 Grams of gold show in the two pictures (nuggets on the GPZ searchcoil). Still more potential and I'm hoping for another huge quartz specimen, one showing more gold on the outside!
  8. Hello All, Nenad from Australia wrote a very nice blog on "Getting the best from your SDC 2300 Metal Detector." You can view the page here, courtesy of Steve Herschbach's Detector Prospector Forum (seen it first there). Read Article here ---> http://phasetechnical.com.au/getting-best-sdc2300/ Another great forum from a long time friend and extremely knowledgeable electronic prospector - Detector Prospector Forum -----> http://www.detectorprospector.com/forum/forum/4-detector-prospector-forum/ Thanks Nenad!
  9. Hey Matt, I have never worked that area, so I wouldn't be much help knowing the Creek or about placers there. If the book mentions placers, it could be anything from very fine gold to coarse nuggets. Many assume that "placers" mean coarse gold, but it can anything from only fine gold to a combination of fine, flake and larger nuggets. As for working the mines, I would recommend a VLF detector such as the Goldbug 2 with a 6.5-inch coil or the Goldbug Pro with the 5-inch Round. Both of these are extremely sensitive to the smallest piece of gold. Highly recommended for lode mine prospecting.
  10. Hey Roo, Thanks for the explanation of Flat Wound coils. I have asked the manufactures several times to explain, but never got much information. Many customers have asked what is the real advantage of them. Have you found a website or anywhere with more information Roo?
  11. Hello Oneday, Yes, I can ship it down under, but the cost of shipping for US International Priority Mail will be expensive. We can see what it would cost to send it "Snail Mail" our Media Mail here in the US. Send me your complete mailing address and we can figure it out if you're interested. The book is starting to sell well. Most don't even know it's out there yet.
  12. Hey Tom, Congrats on your new finds. I managed to get out with Dennis Sunday morning, freezing cold at 28 degrees in the morning. It didn't seem to warm up until around 11am, still temps around 48-50. I did manage to get 4.2 Grams of the good stuff with the GPZ.
  13. Hello All, Just a FYI, this package is a HOMERUN hit for sure. A lot of options with two top of the line PI's from Minelab. Two PI's means more searchcoils coverage on the ground. Now you and your wife, friend, family member or whoever can search with you. The SDC 2300 is a fully, 100% waterproof detector that can fold up into a small package and be packed in a standard backpack. This unit has been "dubbed" a GB2 Pulse Induction metal detector. No question, the most sensitive PI for small gold. The GPX 4500 has been the longest running Pulse Induction metal detector in the World. This metal detector ran longer than most PI's here in the US, but then took over the African and third country markets as the top gold hunting detector. The unit just recently got re-introduced into the US again at a discounted price of $2699.00 if purchased alone. The unit will give you ultimate power of max detection depth, especially with larger searchcoils. The multiple timings and controls will allow you to have the best overall mineral immunity on any ground type anywhere in the World. To get both of these powerful Minelab PI's in one bundle for only $3999.00 is huge! US Military Vets can get a 15% discount on this bundle price. Only about a week left on this deal. Call us if you have questions or would like to order this amazing deal before it ends.
  14. Hey Roo, Sure seems like these new Flat Wound Searchcoils are doing well. Kinds of gives the GPX (and other previous PI models) a bit more out of their units with these new coils. I'm not convinced it's doing what a GPZ can do, but it increases depth/sensitivity over a standard Monoloop coil of the same size. Example, NF or Coiltek 14-inch Round vs. a new 14-inch Evolution or Elite coil.
  15. Hey Doc, Very nice work. I remember years ago visiting where your Sister works. I can't remember what I purchased, but they have very nice stuff.
  16. Hey Barry, Thanks for the comments. What matters the most is we all support this wonderful hobby we have. Sites such as Land Matters wouldn't really matter much if the hobby of recreational prospecting and mining got shut down or banned for good. We have to continually support the hobby and all that support it such as Land Matters, PLP and many more.
  17. Hey California Gold, Great discovery!! Always nice to hit a new patch. The character of the gold is really crystalline.
  18. Merry Christmas Jen! Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas.
  19. Hey Mike, Thanks for the report back in from the Coiltek 14-inch Elite. I have all three models in stock now, 11 and 14-inch Round Mono and the 17x11 Elliptical Mono. No question the coil is more sensitive and guys are getting a bit more depth out of it also. Thanks once again for sharing.
  20. Hey Doug, Congrats on the piece. Greaterville is a very challenging goldfield due to the trash, mineralized ground and depth. Most see a few pieces from Greaterville get posted on the forums and run down there thinking it's an easy killing. After a solid weekend of digging hundreds of shallow and faint deep iron rubbish, they are done! The Grass isn't always Greener 100-200 miles away from your nearest goldfield. The Makro Gold Racer will be interesting to run in many goldfields with a lot of iron rubbish.
  21. Hello All, Just got the books in stock. Call, email or PM if you're interested. I added some pictures of the book above. Very nicely done Mr. Jim Straight!
  22. Hey Jim, Thanks for the detailed information on the new book revision. I think they arrived today, just need to pick them up. I will get some pictures up of the new book and a page on my store built for it. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
  23. Hello All, This 2015 season has been a Banner one for us and we personally "Thank You" you all for your support and business over the years. We also want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Most importantly, remember the true meaning of Christmas and the Birth of Jesus Christ. Rob's Detector Sales is always here for you, so don't hesitate to call, email or post something here in the new season. We would love to earn your business and promise the best service and support you will find anywhere in the US.
  24. Hey Roo, Yes, the picture came out perfect. What a nice haul of gold with the new NF 12-inch Round Evolution coil. Some great reports on these new NF Evolution Searchcoils. As metal detector and searchcoil technology continues to advance more and more gold is popping up from new and old goldfields. Exciting times for sure ..... Wishing you all many more nuggets around the Holidays!
