  1. Hey Doc, The old office looks great, I'm sure it will bring a fortune from the new buyers. The new warehouse is great, I would love to have a place like that. You know as well as I do, we keep getting more and more products and less and less room to store it. Wishing you the best with the new place and a big "Thank You" for Jen, Ricardo and the others that help make the move a quick and successful one.
  2. Hey Guys, Going to be exciting to get the new 19-inch GPZ coil on the ground. I just got an updated email from Minelab Americas, they are now stating mid-to the end of November. I have a good batch of them coming, half are already pre-sold from early GPZ purchases from us. Please let me know if you need one, as they will probably go quickly, at least the first couple shipments from Minelab. Anyone that purchased at the $10,000 price from us will get a discounted price on the new coil. Not sure if I can post the prices yet, so will hold off.
  3. Hey Matt, Awesome find you have there. Yes, please show more when you get a chance, we sure appreciate it. Wishing you much more success!
  4. Hey Jrod, I have plenty of small nuggets I could sell you. I recommend one around 5 grains for a good test nugget. The test nugget in my opinion is best to set up your threshold to get optimum performance out of any detector. All of those detectors should hear a 5 grain nugget on the surface. We have larger ones, but I wouldn't go much bigger than about 10 grains for a test nugget as it will be too loud and easily heard. Call or email me if you're interested. rob@robsdetectors.com or 623.362.1459
  5. Hey Tortuga, There was one a few years back on the Octave Mine. They were looking for the "Blue Devil Ghost" if I remember correctly, which was someone associated with the mine back in the early days. I can't recall the entire story, but they came out on site and filmed one of the segments of the show. I seen the vehicles on site and found out later it was them doing the filming. About 20 years ago I remember walking into the main portal of the Octave Mine. I only went in about 100-150 yards and it was too dark to continue without good lighting. There was a large, iron door that was removed or ripped off the main entrance. I heard there are miles and miles of tunnel underneath Weaver Mountain.
  6. Hey Guys, I will share this with you, as Tortuga has expressed interest in digging up an old patch(s). Over the years I have found hundreds of patches from a few nuggets to many hundred. That being said, 95% of them never have been dug up. A few of the better ones in my opinion, which had a lot of nuggets, I tried drywashing a few spots. The results were very minimal and I was pretty discouraged. I'm sure this will not be the case with all of them, but just case you found a patch don't mean you're going to find a bunch of gold by digging it out. There might be more gold, but the amount of digging over a certain square footage might not yield what you expect. My gut feeling is if the patch is in a gully or where it has concentrated for hundreds of years, then you would probably have better results than on a hillside if you dug it out to bedrock. When it doubt, always investigate and get the idea or thought off your mind and move the the next location.
  7. Hello All, This coil was taken in on trade with a detector. This has been a all time favorite of mine for years on the GPX series. The Blitz is using the Litz wire that helps with better performance over prior models. This coil sells new for $350, but asking only $200 shipped. Great coil for anyone with a SD, GP or GPX series. The Blitz coils will get better performance on the GPX series though. Coiltek 14x9 Elliptical Mono Searchcoil, includes skidplate and hardware. Very light use to the coil, almost brand new. Picture below - Email me at - rob@robsdetectors.com or call me at 623.362.1459.
  8. Hello All, Not too long ago I accepted a trade in for a original SD2100 metal detector. I just wanted the detector, but all the accessories are available for sale. Here are three coils that came with it. They all work fine, just older coils. One is a Minelab 8-inch Round Mono, Minelab 11-inch Round Mono and a Coiltek 14-inch Round Mono. I'm asking $100 + shipping for all three coils. Would rather sell them as a lot then individually if possible. Email me at - rob@robsdetectors.com or call me at 623.362.1459 Picture below.
  9. Hey Guys, Years ago there used to be those clamp on "Ferrite" tubes that you clamped around the searchcoil cable. Some swore by them, others like myself never seen a huge difference in EMI or ground balancing. That being said, makes me wonder if this is similar to use a Ferrite tube around the cable?
  10. Hey Guys, Not sure if you seen, but I'm working on a new online store/website which can be seen at my same URL - www.robsdetectors.com We still have some work and new products to be added, but a lot of new info and a much more powerful overall site with top of the line security. Once the site is complete (probably 1-2 weeks) we will be starting on the forum and a new format and theme to somewhat match the website. At the same time we will be working on allow more space for pictures hopefully.
  11. Hello Goldfind, I still haven't heard anything despite a large pre-order I have had in place for about 8 months now. Many are excited to get that 19-inch GPZ coil. The moment I hear something I will let everyone know here for sure. P.S. I haven't heard of anyone even in OZ using one yet.
  12. Hello All, Got out early this morning and found 7 small nuggets. I went out Saturday late in the day, found a few dinks, but managed to get up super early and hunt this one location for 2.5 hours. I will post a picture later, just got back. I forgot to charge my batteries, both died on me, reason I'm back so early ..... LOL
  13. Hey Andy, From the picture, looks like the "shoestring eyelites" are metal. I know it said in the description they are 100% metal free. Just curious ....
  14. Hey Guys, A good friend of mine up North contacted me today about a very nice 2.25 ouncer nugget he recently found. He was using the new NF EVO 17x13 inch Elliptical on his GPX and said the piece was at 2 foot deep. This is the biggest nugget he has found to date and was excited he purchased the new NF coil. Be real interesting to hear how guys do this season with the new EVO and Elite Searchcoils on their GPX's. Here is a picture of the nugget. They call the finder, Dave the "Duck!"
  15. Hey Tom, I think you are right. Sure seemed longer then that, but I think you're dead on. I guess I need to at least attend once a year.
  16. Hey Mike, For years I used to wear the Bates No Metal boots from Doc. That being said, years ago they seemed to be really tough, but the last couple years from myself and others the boots fell apart in no time flat. I had one sole complete tear off after about a week worth of detecting. A partner of mine also said the last couple of pairs were just crap anymore. I have been using a high dollar pair of hiking books that have minimal amount of metal, which work good detecting. They are about $200 a pair and light as a feather. I don't recommend them for everyone as they are only a mid-top and expensive.
  17. Hey Guys, Tom/Mike C. - Bill has invited me to several of the more recent outings, but I just can't seem to escape all the crap that comes up at the last moment. I couldn't even recall the last outing I attended it was so long ago. I will try to make the one in Nov as it is just right down the road. As for the GPZ-GPX debate, I agree on the smaller gold. I found a lot of smaller gold I missed with the GPX 5000, but only 2-3 larger nuggets. I personally have seen a few multi-ouncers found with the GPZ were I was present, so I do know they have the punch power behind them.
  18. Hey Auwander, I might consider one of those offers and I also have a used, great conditioned Doc's Goldscreamer Power Pack system for sale.
  19. Thanks Guys. Nothing real exciting, but it felt good to get some exercise, enjoy the cooler weather and get a few nuggets under the coil again. I'm excited for this coming Winter prospecting season. A lot of new coils available for the SD/GP or GPX series along with the Flagship GPZ 7000.
  20. Hey Dave, Ya, I seen that video once my US Miner and couldn't find it again. I have embedded it here for viewing. Thanks for that. Mike C - I agree with you 100%. I have done the same thing on a handful of patches. You can always find another dink or so with a new coil, new detector or detecting a different way. US Miner is the video does a pretty good job overall on explaining the GPZ vs. some of the other coils. The hot coil right now for battling against the GPZ's 14x13 is the new NF Evo 17x13 Elliptical. Many guys in California are doing well with this coil on old patches. A handful of these guys sold their GPZ's and went back to GPX 5000's with the new coils. In a nutshell for myself, it's just too expensive for myself or anyone to own all three units (GPZ, GPX and the SDC). I agree they all do different things and will find a few nuggets the others may miss. I need to make it to one of the outings (if I'm welcome) .... LOL Mike.
  21. Hello All, It felt good to get back onto the goldfields and start hunting some gold nuggets again. I farted around for about 5 hours with my GPX 5000 and Coiltek Elite searchcoil. Managed to dig a handful of trash targets and these three gold nuggets. Nothing to get too excited about, but sure felt good to get a few nuggets under the coil once again. Largest was 2.4 Dwt's and a total of 2.8 Dwt's. The weather was really nice this morning. Hope you all got to get out and swing.
  22. Hey Guys, I have used the GPX 5000 on and off for over 5 years with great success. This was also before the new flat wind coils were available. Since I did a lot of searching new locations I always used the 14x9 Coiltek Blitz Mono. When the GPZ 7000 hit the market, I re-visited many of these areas that I hammered with the GPX 5000 and 14x9 and found a lot of gold missed. Majority of the gold I found was under a few grams, biggest around 1/2 ounce. I'm not sure which direction I will choose this season. I have all three units, just need to narrow it down as there is no use for over $15k in detectors. Today during field instructions on a GPZ 7000, I found three nuggets with the GPX 5000 and Coiltek Elite. Hard to say if I missed them before or not. I know I have been all over the areas, just not 100% certain I scan those exact spots or not!
